ADELAIDE SILVERSTONE

I stared at the door in front of me, nervousness pooling in my stomach as I nibbled the life out of my bottom lip. After the rage and anger had ebbed away, it had been replaced by overwhelming guilt. I had been the one to talk Liam into my plans for revenge, and now he was paying the price for it. My thoughts had moved further to Uncle Pete. Liam was his only child, the next in line to the Alpha-ship of Ridgeway Valley and I had thrown the future of the pack into uncertainty.

Sighing, I ran my fingers through my hair, wondering and mentally preparing myself for how I was going to tell Uncle Pete that the most dangerous man in the world was holding Liam hostage because I had made an attempt on his life. I could feel a pulsing in my hindbrain. Eda tried to push through, but I shoved her back. After her and Destiny's charged encounter, I didn't trust any of them and I didn't want to be influenced by them either.

Just get this over with.
