“Thud.”

A body hit the cold ground.

“Is she dead yet?” one of the guards asked, nudging her with his boot.

The other crouched beside her, placing two fingers beneath her nose before letting out a quiet breath. “She’s still breathing.”

“Good. The Alpha made it clear he doesn’t want her dead.”

They left without another glance.

Myra’s eyes fluttered open slowly, pain settling into her body before she could even register where she was. The ground beneath her was cold and unforgiving, the air damp, the cell lifeless.

She tried to move, but a wave of pain shot through her body.”

Her gaze drifted weakly around the space, searching for any trace of light, but there was nothing, only darkness stretching endlessly around her, suffocating and empty, just like her life had become.

The gate creaked open.

Light spilled into the cell as two figures stepped inside.

“Well… look at you.”

Lyka’s voice was soft, almost concerned.

“Oh, sister,” she said, rushing forward and kneeling beside her, helping her sit up. “Look at your wounds… your injuries.”

Her touch was gentle and soothing.

“Why did you have to murder Kylie?” she continued, “She was your friend. How could you do something so despicable? Now look at you… suffering like this.”

Myra said nothing, too weak to respond, too drained to even argue.

“It hurts me to see you like this,” Lyka added softly.

“Get away from her, Lyka.”

His cold voice cut in sharply.

“She’s filthy. You don’t want her stench on you.”

Myra’s fingers pressed weakly against the ground as she slowly lifted her head, her eyes finding him despite the heaviness weighing her down.

Aiden.

Her mate.

Her chest tightened painfully, her heart betraying her as it reacted instinctively, pulling toward him even now.

How could he stand there like this?

Didn’t he feel it?

Didn’t the bond hurt him too?

Just days ago, she had been happy, excited even. The thought of finally meeting her mate had filled her with anticipation, and when she realized it was him… the one she had admired for so long, she had thought it was fate.

“How have you been?” Aiden asked.

His tone was calm, but his eyes burned with hate as they rested on her.

Myra looked at him, her heart pricked by a thousand invisible needles, her emotions twisting painfully between love and hate.

Aiden pulled Lyka closer by the waist, his hold firm and possessive.

Lyka stiffened for a brief second, her blue eyes flickering into amber before she quickly hid behind him, clutching his shirt. “She’s looking at me like she wants to kill me…”

“Enough,” Aiden snapped.

Myra’s body trembled as something inside her rose violently. She was Alpha blood and could withstand the authority of a beta.

With a sudden burst of strength, she forced herself up and lunged toward Lyka.

Aiden reacted instantly, grabbing her and yanking her back before she could reach her. His hand came down hard across her face.

The impact sent her crashing to the ground, her body slumping as pain exploded through her.

“I came here to inform you,” Aiden said coldly, as if nothing had happened, “that Lyka and I will be getting married.”

The words barely registered at first.

“And I will mark her as my chosen.”

Lyka leaned into him weakly “Sister… I want you to be my bridesmaid.”

Myra laughed.

It started softly, before changing into a hysteric one.. Tears streamed down her face as the laughter echoed through the empty cell.

“Why…” she choked out, her voice trembling, “why don’t you just reject me and end our suffering?”

Aiden crouched in front of her, gripping her chin and forcing her to look at him.

The moment his skin touched hers, the bond reacted violently, sending shockwaves through her body. She gasped, leaning into the touch despite herself, craving more even as it humiliated her.

And pulled away immediately.

“You deserve to suffer.”

He stood and turned away, wrapping an arm around Lyka as they moved toward the door.

Right in front of her, he leaned down and kissed Lyka. His tongue danced with hers as he groped her ass.

Lyka responded without hesitation, her arms wrapping around his neck as she melted into him.

Myra’s vision blurred with rage.

Her eyes flashed amber as she slammed her fists against the iron bars with everything she had left.

The metal rattled violently. Aiden only laughed.

“You’ll be released in a few days,” he said casually, glancing back at her. “At least try to look decent for my wedding.”

His smirk deepened slightly. “Though you should be grateful Lyka is kind enough to want you there.”

His gaze hardened.

“A criminal like you doesn’t deserve to walk this earth.”

He turned and left, the door slamming shut behind him.

The cell was engulfed in silence again.

Lyra gave out completely, collapsing onto the cold floor as the last of her strength drained away.

“I’m innocent…” she whispered.

She didn’t know how long, before the gate creaked open again.

Amelia scattered everything she could find in the room, breaking equipment, throwing things against the wall, screaming and shouting hysterically. “Where is she?” Her body grew restless as she failed to recognize the unfamiliar environment, panic clawing at her chest as she shifted uncontrollably between wolf and human, tearing pieces of her clothes in the process. Nothing felt real, nothing felt right, and it only made the rage worse. She grabbed whatever her hands touched and destroyed it without thinking, glass shattering, metal clanging, until there was nothing left within reach. Her strength finally gave out and she slumped to the floor, weakly covering her face as her tears spilled out, her shoulders shaking. Where is that bitch? Where are those people? Her voice cracked, but there was no answer. Slowly, her eyes faded back to their original green, the anger sinking but not disappearing.Melissa rushed inside. After meeting Dante and spending some time with him, she had returned

Lyka’s voice carried irritation as she folded her arms, clearly displeased. “I just got married, Dad. I haven’t even had my honeymoon yet, and you’re already sending me away. Don’t you want grandchildren? And now you want me to go to the Lycan Kingdom of all places? I’ve heard how they treat outsiders, I’m not going to throw myself into a place full of people who look down on us.” Ryan’s fist slammed hard against the table, the sound echoing through the dining hall as everyone froze. “Enough,” he said, his voice low but filled with anger. “I have had enough of your complaints. Those same Lycans you are insulting are the reason you live the life you enjoy so much. Their wealth funds your comfort, your luxury, every single thing you take for granted. If you want to keep living like this with your designer clothes and your expensive lifestyle, then you will drop that attitude and do what is required of you.”Lyka’s lips pressed together, her pride clearly bruised, but she lowered her hea

“Melissa,” Matteo growled the moment he stepped into the infirmary, his voice echoing through the quiet halls.A blonde woman stepped out from her office, lazily brushing her hair back, her eyes slightly tired. “You know you don’t have to shout my name every time you show up,” she muttered before her gaze dropped to the woman in his arms, and she froze. “Wait… what’s wrong with her?”Matteo ignored the question at first, moving straight to the bed and placing Myra down with surprising care, as though she were something fragile that might break under the slightest pressure. Only then did he look at Melissa. “Check her.”Melissa blinked, clearly caught off guard. “Brother… you’re actually asking about someone’s condition?” she teased lightly, but the look on his face wiped the smile off hers instantly.“Don’t waste my time,” he said coldly.“Alright, alright,” she muttered, raising her hands slightly before stepping forward to examine Myra properly. “What do you mean you’re withdrawing?” Alpha Ryan’s voice rose sharply as he stood from his seat, the phone clenched tightly in his hand. “We’ve already channeled a significant amount of resources into this project. You can’t just back out halfway and expect us to cover everything.”On the other end, Carl let out a soft chuckle, completely unbothered. “Your understanding seems… selective, Alpha Ryan. The Lycan Kingdom never signed a contract with you.”Ryan’s jaw tightened. “It has always been a yearly donation,” Carl continued smoothly. “How that turned into a ‘binding agreement’ on your end is quite… interesting.” Ryan’s expression darkened.“Furthermore,” Carl added, his tone sharpening slightly, “our investigations suggest that you’ve been making moves to transfer portions of the land into your personal name.”“So tell me,” Carl went on calmly, “who exactly is breaching trust here?”Ryan said nothing, but his grip on the phone tightened. “The Crimson Moon Pack is one of the richest

The wind roared in Myra’s ears as she fell, her body weightless, her mind strangely quiet, as though everything that had once hurt her had finally gone still. The pain from the broken bond lingered faintly in her chest, but even that was fading, swallowed by the emptiness consuming her. Her eyes fluttered shut as darkness rose to meet her, and for the first time in a long while, she felt nothing.Miles away, Matteo stilled abruptly, his grip tightening around the glass in his hand as something unfamiliar struck deep within him, sharp and urgent, like a pull he could neither ignore nor understand. His expression darkened as he straightened, his senses sharpening instantly. “Stop the car,” he ordered, his voice low and commanding, and the vehicle halted at once. He stepped out into the cold night air, that strange feeling intensifying, dragging him in a single direction, and without hesitation, he moved, his speed fast and inhuman as instinct took over. The closer he got, the stronger i
