Chapter 13

Becca POV

Three days had passed since Max's sudden death, and I was still grappling with the unanswered questions surrounding his passing. Everyone kept telling me it was just a tragic accident, but no one seemed to have an explanation for what had caused it. Whenever I pressed my father for more details, he would become evasive and change the subject.Even my friends urged me to let go and focus on grieving for Max, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. He deserved more than that from me. Yet, as I held onto these emotions, I could feel myself on the brink of breaking down. But I couldn't allow myself to fall apart - not when Max needed me to be strong.
