Jacob was standing by the entrance, keeping tabs on the door as his right foot was tapping the floor in nervousness and anxiousness while waiting for her, and his eyes were fixed on a large door located at the entrance.
It was already past nine, yet there was no trace of her anywhere. “Why isn't she here yet? Don't tell me she got lost on the way.” The thought crossed his mind when he recalled how much of a bad memory she has when it comes to recalling directions and locations. He immediately stormed out of the house, and just when he was about to run out of the building, he saw her coming; she was walking from the front entrance towards him. She saw him being in a rush and heading somewhere while worry was written all over his face; she wondered who was the person making him feel like that. But that thought soon disappeared when she saw his facial expression change from restlessness to calm. Jacob stopped, maintained his straight posture, and started walking toward her at a normal pace. “Why are you so late?” He asked with a calm expression on his face. It would be weird to say he cares for her when they have always been fighting since childhood. “Oh! I got lost, just found the way.” Juhee chuckled as she was embarrassed. She is a person who has no control over her mind when it comes to getting to the right location; she always messes up. “As expected from you.” He took a sigh of relief. He reached her, but then instead of saying anything else, he ended up carrying her suitcase for her. Juhee was a little stunned. He was always grumpy and cold towards her. And now he is carrying her stuff? It's new for her. “He is surely weird.” She thought and just followed him behind. Now that he thinks, where's her stuff? “Juhee! Are you only going to move in with these two suitcases? Where's your other stuff?” He asked her when he saw no other suitcase; there was also no one behind her who was carrying anything; she was all alone. “I only have this much luggage. Why? Should I have gotten more?” She asked, all baffled. She had everything she needed. It's not like she was going to move into his house for the rest of her life. It was just a temporary cohabitation, and this much luggage was enough. Jacob was not shocked to hear her. He expected this to happen. The Juhee he has come to know all these years is a person of her word and a grumpy type at that. He took her to the apartment. And the first thing Juhee did after coming in was look around and check the condition of the house. Her eyes wandered around, and she was disappointed. She made a disgusting face when she looked at him. “Are you sure it's your house?” He blinked several times before nodding his head. “Yeah! It's my house. Why? You think that I have cheated on someone and snatched away this apartment.” He was being sarcastic. Because who asks such a weird question? Juhee sighed. The condition of the house was terrible. Even though it was fancy and big, it looked like the house was never even clean after this guy moved in. There were spiderwebs in the corner, dust everywhere, and whatnot in the sight. At last, she was disappointed. “Go and get the cleaning tools. I can't stay in a house full of dust and dirt.” She said, touching the bump on her forehead in frustration. Jacob blinked again as he looked around. According to him, the house was clean, and there was nothing unpleasant in sight. So why was Juhee telling him to get cleaning tools? It makes no sense. “The house is pretty clean. Why do you want to make simple things complicated?” He protested against her. “Do it now!” She slapped her hand on the table and looked at him with a fierce gaze. Her voice spoke command. Jacob snorted as he was stunned by her assertive tone. He felt like throwing her out of his house but calmed himself. Because he was indeed scared of her when she slapped her hand on the hard table and did not wince in pain, it showed him how strong she was, and it was useless to go against her in this matter. So it was better to do what she was commanding him to do. “Yes, Your Highness. I will go and get the tools.” He disappeared into thin air after speaking those words. Juhee looked around the house once again. If she cuts off the cleaning department, the other areas were pretty good. The house was in good condition, and everything inside was pretty expensive. From flower jars to the painting, everything was priceless. He immediately returned with dusting cloths, water spray, a bucket filled with clean water, a broom, and mopping cloths. He was tired from carrying all this but smiled at her. “Your Highness, here's what you asked for.” He said with a broom in his hands. Juhee smiled from the heart when hearing him calling her “Her Highness.” The Jacob she knows isn't like him at all; he is wholly different from the current one. But it was refreshing to see this side of him. “Stop calling me as if I am some royalty. And, since you have come all the way, let's do this together.” She said, taking the broom from his hand. To this, Jacob started scratching his cheeks; he had something in his mind and wanted to tell her. After waiting for a few seconds, he finally decided to tell his mind. “I have some important documents to review. So you will have to do everything. I am sorry that I am leaving you alone to clean all this mess, but I can't do anything in this matter.” It's not like he wanted to leave her alone, but some important documents need to be reviewed by tonight. “Alright! You can go.” Jacob once again disappeared from the living room. After two hours, Jacob was still working on the documents when he got thirsty and reached out his hands for the glass of water but then realized that the glass was all empty; there was no water in the jar as well. At this point, he had no choice but to go into the kitchen and get the jar filled with drinking water. He came out of his room and went straight to the kitchen. The house was all quiet. He had been living alone all these years, so he was already used to this silent atmosphere, and by now it was nothing new to him. Or it would be more precise to say that he already forgot about Juhee moving into his house. Yes, he forgot that there was another person in his house. When he was returning from the kitchen, he realized something weird. “It's my house, but why do I feel like it's not my place? Isn't this too clean and sparkly for my house? This place wasn't this clean when I went to my room.” He became suspicious. He was having unnecessary doubts and was thinking too hard about something he shouldn't. He looked behind once again; the kitchen was way too clean, and everything was placed in the right manner. He remembered placing the knife on the second shelf. But earlier when he was inside the kitchen, the knife was placed on the knife shelf. “Is there a ghost in my house?” He felt chills down his spine. It was not just the kitchen that was clean and sparkly, but the whole apartment was. For a moment he thought that maybe a fairy visited his place, but he soon shook off that feeling. He started sniffing, and the detergent and cleaning liquid smell was spread into the air; it was nice and calming to the nose. How could there be someone who forgets such important details? Well, he was the kind of person who forgets stuff at times. He was just on his way to his room when he heard the doorbell. “Who's visiting me at this hour?” He questioned himself and strode towards the front door. He got to the door and then opened it. He didn't even look to see who it was at this hour but directly opened the door; quite a character he has. “What are you doing at my place at this hour?”"You called me because you can't decide what to wear, is it?" She questioned calmly but he could feel the storm in her voice. "Yeah! I am confused. Why is it so hard to choose what to wear?" He sounded genuinely sad and frustrated. She looked at Brian who turned around to see why she stopped, she just opened her palm and showed her two fingers, index and middle while all fingers closed. Telling him to wait for two minutes. Brian nodded to her and leaned back to the pillar behind him, folded his hand together, and looked straight. "You are calling me for such a small matter? God damn, who the hell used to choose your outfit before me?" She asked, all paranoid. When he wasn't married to her, who the hell used to help her in choosing an outfit or he was just throwing a tantrum just now because he can't stand Brian? "Umm! Amber...it was her who had this job. Just...just help me already, or else I am going to get late." He said. He is the kind of person who wants to look good but ca
When she came out of the hotel room after getting ready for work, he was standing in front of the room with some food takeaway in his hands. He was about to ring the door when she came out. “You are already ready for work? Anyway! Here you go. You must be on an empty stomach right now. Have something before you go.” He passed the takeaway food bag to her and then forced his way in. “Thank you for the food.” She thanked him with a smile on her face. “Alright, you can go to work. I will see you tonight.” He looked at the time and realized she would be late to work if he kept on talking to her any further. Juhee just nodded and then made her way out of the hotel. Brian was waiting for her outside the hotel. Brian opened the door after seeing her coming out. “My lady, please get in!” “Thank you, Mr. Brian.” Juhee just smiled at him politely as she got in the car. Brian then went to the other side, opened the front seat door, and went in. He was her driver for today and also her guid
They both had pretty smile on their faces while shaking hands. But for some reason, Jacob refused to let go, he kept on handshaking while Brian gave him a weird look and then glanced at the hands. Juhee saw it, she looked at Jacob's smile and then his hands. She then held his hand. "Jacob, it's enough." Juhee said with a smile that clearly stated that he should let go now. Jacob let go and smiled at them even wider. His smile had a hidden meaning, scaring Juhee for some reason. Brian got into the car, the driver's seat. He thought Juhee would take a front seat beside him. But Jacob pushed her away from the front door. "The view from the backseat is too beautiful for my blind eyes, please enjoy the scenery." Juhee just went all speechless, "What's gotten into this guy? He kept on acting strangely since earlier." She sneered and sat in the backseat. Brain gave Jacob an awkward smile and drove the car to the apartment. "Miss Juhee, did you get the schedule already?" Brian asked. "
Juhee was just teasing him. No matter how much of a messy person he was, there's no way he wasn't a good cook. Yeah, sometimes he has extra msg in food, but if minute thay point, he was really good in anything he does.Juhee took the first chance at testing his cooking. She just took a bite but then look at him with all the suspense in her eyes, his heartbeat dropped for a moment there. " How's it? "." Umm! It's...delicious ", Juhee smiled at him.He brimmed with a highlighted big smile and wanted to hug her but stepped back knowing she would just kick him down there if he is violet her in any way.It was his turn now, he picked up the spoon from the spoon shelf installed at the center of the dining table, gave her many glances before even dipping the spoon inside the plate, and finally took a spoonful. When the spoon reached his mouth, the buttery and delicious aroma kicked into his nose through two holes, he felt drooling and took a bite out of it.As expected from Juhee, her cooki
As she was walking to the apartment building, someone called her from behind. When she looked back, it was Jacob standing behind her. " Wanna go shopping? ", He asked as he walked to her." Let's return first, then we will go ", Juhee agreed." Hmm! Seems fair ", Jacob nodded his head. The both of them returned home together. This is the first time they came home at the same time and met outside the building. For some reason, this feels great to return together while they talk and laugh with each other on the way. They returned home, got changed, and then decided to head to the grocery store directly. Juhee checked the fridge this morning, there was so little left that even if Jacob had not mentioned shopping for groceries, she would have done it herself. Both headed to the grocery store and shopped for the ingredients they needed in the house." I want to eat those spicy potato chips, these are the variant that has just launched ", Said Jacob. He is obsessed with street and junk foo
After hearing him, she asked herself, are they seriously on the same page? Doesn't seem so. Because he is talking about something else and she was talking about something else. " Wait, hold on, stop there. I don't need your advice, suggestions, or lectures anymore. It doesn't bother me anyway. We are on a different page, bro. Just keep it there ", Juhee said as she stopped him from talking any further about the matter. No matter how unapproachable she is, she can't be this bad. Well, he is right, she is that way, she can't defend against him or prove herself right, the best option was to shut his mouth, which she already did." You never listen anyway, no use opening my mouth in front of you. Anyway, you heard it, right? Doctor Betty is getting married in two months, you should go and congratulate her, try to lessen the distance between you guys. It's always hard to see you two being so cold to each other for no reason ", William suggested again. She was ridiculed by his choice of wo
