I don't know anymore and for the first time, I'm actually scared of losing someone. I'm scared of losing him.

To think that someone I didn't know three months ago would mean the world to me a few weeks after knowing him is something I'd laugh at if I were told earlier.

“I can see through you, Christabel. I know when you're not fine. We might have just met but I can tell when you're in a sour mood.” Andre clasped his left hand and mine together and stared deep into my eyes, like he's looking for something, anything.

I sighed. “It's nothing.”

“It's something but I won't force you to tell me.” He continued and never let go of our joined hands.

My hands fitted in his, like it was meant to be there, like we were meant to be.

“Why did you marry me?” I asked as we walked down the hallway towards his room.

“You were outstanding. You've always been.”

I frowned. “I've always been?”

He was about to respond when his phone rang. “I have to go to my office now. I'm running late.” He patted my shoulder and went straight into his room.

Although I was confused, I decided to lend every question till later. I can go out to visit Vivian today and spend some time with her. That should get my mind off everything that happened yesterday.

–·_·–

“Did he, really?” Vivian's mouth was agape as she stared at me wide eyed.

“I wouldn't lie about that, would I?”

We decided to meet at the restaurant where she worked and I so happened to call just before she got off work.

Seeing Vivian is nostalgic because we've seen each other at our worst and best and we only have each other.

Well, now I have Andre and she has a job, the job she'd always wanted. The restaurant so happens to be owned by Damian, my brother-in-law and his wife was the one in control of the restaurant.

“I trust you, girl and I know you wouldn't lie about anything but did he really say he wanted you to leave his uncle or he'd stab you to death?” Vivian squinted her eyes in a knowing manner.

“Alright. He didn't say it that way and please, we are at his parents’ restaurant. Let's keep it down, shall we?”

“I knew he didn't say he'd kill you. You exaggerate a lot so I could tell. Plus, he doesn't have it in him to kill. He bluffs way too much for his own good.”

And we both laughed at her last statement.

“I remember one of the times we met before we started our unfortunate relationship, he wasn't allowed into the VIP section of a club and he claimed his uncle owned the entire MacDee Conglomerate.”

Vivian laughed again and I joined her too until it dawned on me that he wasn't lying. MacDee is the shorter version for the name McDonalds and that's Andre’s surname. Vivian comprehended this too and soon stopped laughing. Maybe, just maybe, he wasn't bluffing. He was telling the truth.

“What if he wasn't bluffing about killing you?” Vivian asked.

“He didn't say he'd kill me, I exaggerated” I corrected her and she nodded.

Vivian isn't a typical girl. She's black, blonde and she has green eyes. Her exact origin is unknown and she could have been a freak but she didn't see herself as one and didn't let anyone treat her as one either.

“You dyed your hair again?” I found myself asking.

She's been dyeing her hair since she was thirteen, something about finding the perfect hair color combo.

Most of the time, she's on her natural hair color but a few times when she wants to experiment, she does crazy colors like blue and green and purple all together.

“Thanks for stating the obvious at the end of our meeting.” She said sarcastically and rolled her eyes.

“Well I'd prefer it if you just dye it brown or leave it blonde but no, it has to be something crazy and now, a peach and orange ombre? When will this ever end?”

“Oh my…” she laughed so heartily that people around had to spare us glances.

I muttered a ‘tone it down’ and she struggled to contain her laughter but she did, finally.

We stayed together catching up on many memories until it was getting late and time for me to head back home.

“George! I will stand with you between the heavens and the earth, I will tell you where you are. Do you love me?”

“I love you!” for a while, my heart was at peace before George continued his unplanned love confession “From the moment……” and that was all I needed to hear.

I admired Charlotte's courage as I watched the series and her love for George despite the way his mum treated her.

She was just a girl oblivious to the fact that Farmer George isn't mentally stable. It got me thinking, if Andre was faced with a challenge, would I stay? I should, right?

It's expected of me to stay but what if I don't have the strength to endure things like Charlotte? What if what I want isn't a complicated life Collins?

“Ma, Sir Andre is home.” A voice said right after I heard a knock on my door.

I shut down the laptop in front of me and like a little child, I skiddled over to the door, heading for where Andre should be upon his arrival.

Christabel's POVStaring at my reflection in the mirror, I grinned hard, my heart beating as I swallowed.I turned my head to the side, taking a close glance at my makeup but there was no flaw I could point out.Suddenly, a loud voice came followed by Melody's bouncy self. "Christabel, are you ready?"I couldn't get to answer because she let out a scream, her eyes flashing with excitement as she took in my form. "Oh my gosh Christabel, you are so beautiful!" She gushed, taking a deep look at me. I beamed at her, standing with a pose so she could see me perfectly."Andre would trip when he sees you."I blushed at her words, shyly lowering my head to look at the floor. For someone so young, Melody was too chirpy for her good. Nonetheless, I bit my lip, looking at her with doubt on my face, "do you think so?""Of course!" She assured causing some of the doubts to roll but still, I was nervous. Today was a huge day for me and Andre, as it was our official wedding. You might be wonder

Andre's POV"Adam!" I yelled as I ran into his mansion, anger clouding my features. "Adam you better get out here 'cause it's urgent!"My voice raked through the air, straining my throat. My heart pounded like a drum, anxiety climbing like a spider over my heart. A few hours ago, I was in the office, reviewing some documents when I received a distress call from Christabel. Before I could panic, I received a message next from Bobby telling me to meet him at a warehouse I wanted to save Christabel from being raped by Joan. This fucking bastard!Did he know I almost died because of him? But here he was lusting after my wife!I rushed to study, grabbing him by the neck before he could react. I roared into his face, "If you don't follow me now, I don't care what's going to happen to your son!""What the fuck is wrong with you Andre?" Adam snarled, smacking my hands off his clothes."What's wrong?" I scoffed, running a hand through my hair. "What's wrong is that stupid son of yours going t

Bobby's POV"Shit!"I cussed as I walked through the streets, lowering my head while adjusting the hat on my head. The sound of sirens blaring filled my ears, causing me to groan. I balled my fists, as I threaded through the dark street, the flickering light from a street lamp, obscuring my vision. It was late at night, but everything seemed like day to me. I pushed a wooden board out of the way, looking behind to see if there was anyone following before I went in. The room went dark as I closed the only source of light from getting in before walking in deeper. "Bobby is that you?" A deep voice sounded in the dark and I rolled my eyes in annoyance. Ignoring the question, I strolled deeper into the room only for me to stop, as he stood in front of me. "What do you want?" I growled, feeling a vein tick at the side of my neck. Through the dark, I saw him flinch, shaking his head as he backed away, probably recognizing my voice."S–sorry," he stammered, taking steps back.He should

Having been discovered, John, Jimmy, and Joan all ran away without a trace, the action casting pain on the couple. "Let's go, Christa

  • Married To My Ex's Uncle    Surviving suicide.

Christabel's POVSitting in the ward, the constant sound of the heart monitor's harsh beeping penetrated my ears, making me squeeze the pale fingers in my hands tighter. My eyes strayed onto Andre's sleeping figure on the bed, my heart aching at the sight of him. His face was as pale as a sheet, his hair long and messily curled on the pillow. On his face was a mask which allowed him to breathe. A fog covered the mask as he breathed through an oxygen mask, his chest a slow rise and falling. My eyes rested on his wrist, which was bandaged, a patch of blood appearing on the white material. What were you thinking Andre?"I felt my eyes sting, and I blinked to stop the water from falling. Thinking of what happened that day was like a nightmare I wish to wake up from.Coming to the apartment and finding Andre with his left wrist slashed, and a kitchen knife beside him was indescribable.I remembered through my haze how I frantically ran into the apartment, not knowing what to do and it

Christabel's POVI looked out the window, the morning sun hitting my eyes. It's been a month since I last saw Andre or spoke to anyone in particular. After that day, I didn't return to the apartment or bother going to Adam's. I went to my grandma's old house. Before she died, she left the property in my name, and I was glad the house was still standing despite how wrecked it looked.Andre had somehow gotten wind of where I stayed but that was two days after. In my haste to get away from him, I cut off every trace that could lead him to where I was, but a McDonald was always a McDonald. Criminal or not, Andre braved through the streets, looking for me, and that touched me only a little.I squinted my eyes, hoping I could catch a glimpse of his figure on the porch, but he wasn't there.Andre had been coming for weeks without stopping, trying to talk to me, but nothing he said made sense to me. I was sure he was trying to make excuses. I wrapped my hands around myself, letting the curt
