Chapter 21: Sleeping Together

Javier could hear the loud noise from the second floor,

The place around the old cabin was quiet. With his sensitive ears, he occasionally hears the sound of cricket and the whistling of the wind. So naturally, the earth-shattering shouts of the maid below reached his ears.

Javier harrumhped.

He already expected these people would come here to show their superiority to his wife. Not even a day passed, and they came to their door with the purpose of bullying.

Javier listened closely.

Would that woman cry? Or would she plead to that maid to take her away from here?

However, Javier could not hear any loud cries. He only heard the loud sound of the door slamming and the maids curses.

After a while, everything turned quiet.

What happened? Did the woman left?

He waited patiently. But there was no noise afterward.

He was curious and many things came to his mind. If only he could move his body and check, he would figure out what was going on.
