He said, " 'He's my husband'?" I burst out laughing. Laughing, I walked towards him, then crossed my arms in front of him.

"Are you kidding me, mister? Hahaha, so funny! Sorry, but I'm leaving, goodbye!" I said, shaking my head in amusement. Gosh! I flicked my hair and rolled my eyes at him. Whatever, I'm leaving! I was about to turn away when he grabbed my hand, stopping me.

"I'm not joking, Anaya. I'm really your husband," he said coldly. This time, I looked at him. Our eyes met, and there I realized they were the same. He was the man I dragged in! My husband!

"Oh my God! It's you!" I exclaimed, pulling my hand away from his grasp.

"But how did you change your appearance? Suddenly, you look rich. Earlier, you looked like a beggar!" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Tsk, here."

He stood up, set down his glass of wine, and picked up an envelope from the side table; he walked towards me. I looked at him with furrowed brows, then he handed me the folder he was holding. I took it.

"What's this?" I asked, frowning and looking at the folder in my hand with a questioning look.

"Open it to find out," he simply replied, returning to his seat and picking up his glass of wine again, taking a direct gulp. I pouted.

"Is this a divorce paper?" I asked, raising an eyebrow as I opened the folder, but he just stared at me coldly.

"Just open it," he said irritably.

Oh, humph! Why are you annoyed? I'm just asking!

"Let me handle our divorce papers, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience," I said softly, but he only responded with a raised eyebrow and a furrowed brow.

"I didn't ask you to do it. I'm fine being your husband," he said seriously, causing goosebumps to rise on my skin. Gosh, what is he saying!

I didn't say anything and focused my attention on the folder in my hand; I opened it slowly.

And a marriage certificate and my birth certificate appeared.

"What? Why do you have my birth certificate?" I asked in surprise.

"Because I used it to make our marriage valid, and you will forever be my wife." He said seriously, and he didn't seem to be joking. I gaped at his statement.

"What?! Why did you do that? It will make it even harder for us to get a divorce!" I said, biting my lip, but he just chuckled a little.

He's handsome when he laughs!

"Divorce? That will never happen, Anaya." He said and left the room. I stared blankly, watching the closing door.

"Is he crazy?" I scratched my head and looked at the papers in my hand.

I know our marriage is valid, but I have no intention of registering that marriage so I can easily leave him.

It seems to have backfired. It looks like I'm the one who got married on the side.

I just held my forehead and lay back on the bed because I was still confused about everything that happened.

I remained lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling, when I realized I had nothing here, and besides, I still have work tomorrow, and I don't want to get fired. It's a good thing it's Sunday, my rest day.

I got up and left the room. I was amazed because when I went out, a wide hallway appeared before me, and I guess there are four rooms.

I just walked until I reached the stairs. I didn't see many people, so I continued walking. As soon as I went down, I saw a maid. Based on her attire, I approached her, and she easily saw me. She smiled at me and bowed her head.

"Good evening, Lady Anaya. Is there anything you need?" she said to me. I was surprised because she knew my name. Then, she called me "Lady" before my first name. Am I a white lady?

"Hello, good evening, too." I awkwardly smiled at her.

"Did you see the man who went down earlier?" I asked her. I didn't know him. I also didn't look at his name on the marriage certificate he gave me because I was worried that I didn't have any belongings here. I'll read it later and see what else is in that envelope.

"Ah, Young Master Kael, Lady Anaya? He's in the living room. Come, I'll accompany you." I just nodded and smiled at her. I followed her as she started walking.

While walking, I looked at the whole house. I'm still in shock because the man I thought I just picked up from the street is actually a billionaire.

"Young Master Kael, Lady Anaya is looking for you." Kael, that's the man's name. It sounds so cute, but his aura seems scary.

I saw Kael sitting on a sofa, drinking tea, and facing a laptop on his lap.

"What do you want, Anaya?" He addressed me coldly again. He's been cold since earlier! Should I warm him up? I'm annoyed! What?

"Don't 'what what' me?" I retorted irritably, so he looked at me seriously.

"I'm going home first. I need to get my things because I didn't bring anything." I told him.

"No need, Anaya. I have money, so I'll buy all your needs," he casually said.

I was about to speak, but more than ten people entered. They were carrying paper bags; I didn't know what was inside.

"That's all your needs, Anaya," he said coldly, looking at his staff as they put down their things. I remained gaping.

"Bags, accessories, clothes, anything you want." I looked at him again.

"What's this all about?" I could only utter. What's this man's plan? At least he already knows me, but I don't know him. What the fudgeee?

"Take this." He said to me and gave me a black card, and I'm not stupid enough not to know that it contains money.

"From now on, you'll handle the management here in the mansion, especially the salaries of the maids and gardeners, except for all the security guards because I handle them," he said at length.

"And we'll share the same room," he said with a smile.

"What, why? There are many rooms, I'll just stay there," I objected.

"You are my wife, and I'm your husband, so we should share the same room." I gaped again at what he said.

"Wait, I'm confused. I'm very sorry that you were forced to marry me, but I promise I'll find a way to nullify it," I said to him. I thought he would say something else, but he just signaled his staff to take the things they bought to the room.

"Anaya, I don't have a plan to divorce you. After all, I was very lucky that day, so there's no divorce between us, Anaya," he said seriously, so I was just left gaping.

"I have to go," he said again and stood up from the sofa.

"Where are you going?" I immediately asked.

"I have something important to do. Don't worry, I'm not a cheater," he said with a smile.

"I didn't ask, you're so thick-faced," I said, raising an eyebrow, then walking back to the room where I was earlier.

When I got inside the room, I saw all the paper bags with their contents, and it's obvious that they're all expensive.

"Wow, so rich!" I grimaced and looked at the folder he first gave me. I saw a small box, and when I opened it, it was a ring with a small diamond in the middle.

Instead of wearing it, I made it a pendant for my necklace so it wouldn't be obvious that I'm married.

I also looked at the marriage certificate he gave me. The first thing I saw was my name.

  • Marrying Mr. Stranger    CHAPTER 17 : BUSINESS

~ANAYA~ "Mind your own business!" Luna snapped, but hesitation flickered in her eyes. She probably didn't expect anyone to challenge her. "I do mind. Anaya's my friend, and I won't let you insult her without reason," Tasya said seriously. I couldn't believe it. Tasya, usually quiet and shy, had become brave for me. But it didn't end there. "Well…" Luna started, but I interrupted. I couldn't hold back any longer. "Luna, what's your problem? I haven't done anything to you. Why are you being mean?" I asked, trying to stay calm. "Well…" she repeated, but she seemed hesitant now, probably intimidated by Tasya and me. "If you don't have anything nice to say, just be quiet. We're hungry and don't want to be late for work," I said, pulling Tasya away. We left Luna standing there, looking shocked. Walking to our table, I couldn't help but smile. I was proud of Tasya. She wasn't just a sweet friend; she was brave. Most importantly, I realized I wasn't alone. People were willing to defe

  • Marrying Mr. Stranger    CHAPTER 16 : AWAKE

~ANAYA~ I slowly opened my eyes, feeling only a throbbing headache. It felt like someone had bowled inside my skull. I winced at the stinging pain on my cheek; it was swollen. I touched my face, my eyes widening at the tenderness. It was badly swollen. I gasped, realizing how badly Dave had beaten me. My stomach ached as if it had been punched ten times. The memory of Dave's punches, kicks, and slaps replayed in my mind. My vision blurred; I wanted to scream but had no strength. "Anaya…" A voice broke through my thoughts. "You're awake, wife," Kael said. My husband. I heard a familiar voice—Kael, my husband. I looked at him; he was sitting beside me, his face full of worry. He was holding my hand, his touch gentle as he wiped away my tears. I hadn't realized I was crying. "Kael… what… what happened?" I whispered weakly. I felt parched, like I hadn't drunk water in a month. "You collapsed, wife, but don't worry. I'll make them pay," he whispered back, tightening his grip on my

I couldn't understand him anymore, the noise of the crowd, their pleas for Dave to stop. I felt dizzy from the slaps, the world spinning. The pain… the pain of his slaps, the pain of his words… "You don't know who I replaced you with, Dave, so don't be arrogant!" I cried out again after another hard slap from Dave. Mall security approached, but Dave's friends fired their guns. I never thought they had guns. Anyone who tried to approach was shot. I lost hope. The pain of my weakness. I couldn't escape Dave's grasp. I was weakening. "Stop it, Dave," I whispered weakly, but he laughed and punched my stomach. "Stop it, Dave, please!" Tasya cried, but Dave ignored her, enjoying my suffering in front of everyone. Dave grabbed my hair. I closed my eyes in pain, trying to escape, but Dave was strong. I couldn't call Kael; my bag was thrown away. I tried not to cry, to be brave, but my tears wouldn't stop. I was hurting; I couldn't take it anymore; I was weak. Kael… That's all I

  • Marrying Mr. Stranger    CHAPTER 14

His touch on my hand was light, yet a jolt of electricity ran through me. "Stay away, Kael," I said, but he only smiled. Our eyes met, and for a moment, the world disappeared. I lost my balance, falling onto the bed. He quickly caught me, his arms around my waist. My heart pounded. Our eyes held unspoken emotions, a silent promise of something more. My heart raced as we remained in that position. The moment stretched, charged with anticipation. Kael's dark, intense eyes held mine captive. He leaned closer, his breath warm against my skin. My heart pounded frantically. His lips brushed against mine, a feather-light touch that sent shivers down my spine. Then, his lips fully pressed against mine—a soft, tender kiss that stole my breath away. The world faded, leaving only the feel of his lips, the warmth of his body against mine. It was a kiss that spoke volumes, a silent promise between two souls. When he pulled away, I was breathless, a dizzying mix of emotions swirling

  • Marrying Mr. Stranger    CHAPTER 13

I'm happy because Kael agreed to let Lola stay at his mansion, and Manang Rere will be there too. I told him Manang Rere could work at the mansion, and I'd pay her salary. It wouldn't be difficult; she wouldn't have much to do—just care for Lola, keeping her company and assisting her. It's my fifth day off work; I have two more days before returning. "Anaya, my granddaughter " Lola called out, making me turn to her. We were in her room at the mansion, with Manang Rere attending to her. "Yes, grandma ? " I smiled, approaching her. She was sitting on the bed while Manang Rere folded clothes. "Is it him?" she said, her voice trailing off. I furrowed my brows, understanding immediately. "Is he the one you chose over Dave, my dear?" she asked, referring to Kael. Kael wasn't at the mansion; he'd returned to work, while I was still suspended. "Lola—I don't regret choosing him," I said seriously. Lola listened attentively, waiting for my explanation. "I'm sorry, Lola, that I left you wi

  • Marrying Mr. Stranger    CHAPTER 12

My family was shocked to see Kael. His face was impassive, his gaze intense. I was also surprised—he arrived incredibly fast! I’d only called him moments ago. After recovering from the shock, my father's first question was, "Who is that man?" My father asked, his brow furrowed as he looked at Kael, who was staring intently at them. "(Voice trembling slightly) "Anaya... is that... the man you... you married instead of Dave?" My father said, chuckling as he looked at Kael. "You have good taste, Anaya," Avera said, her gaze lingering on Kael. "You chose this man to be your groom, even though he looked like a lump of coal on your wedding day." I pulled Kael behind me; I knew my sister's ways, and my suspicions were correct. "That's none of your concern anymore, Dad." I sighed, looking back at my father. "Just like I said earlier, I'm taking Lola, whether you like it or not." I said seriously. Kael remained silent behind me, watching, ready to intervene if my stepmother tried anythi
