"My God," Hannah whispered softly.
She waited a few minutes for the dizziness to pass. Then, she wondered—where was she?
Hannah sat up and staggered to the door, her eyes scanning the room with the barred windows. The room was neat and clean, but whose room was it? Her hand reached for the doorknob, trying to turn it.
But it was locked.
"Hello?" Hannah called out hoarsely.
No answer.
She tried to open the door again, this time banging on it, but there was still no response from outside.
Fear crept into her chest. Who had imprisoned her in this room?
Only now did Hannah begin to piece together what had happened from that morning until her last meal. Before that, she had been with Simon.
