“You actually had the gall to show me that you cheated on me on our wedding day? How could you be so vulgar, North?!”

North Myers stared at the shameful pictures on the screen, and her mind simply could not process what she was seeing. Her fiance, Eiger South, stormed over and slapped her.

Her half-sister, Melinda Myers, started crying. “North, why didn’t you treasure Eiger when he’s such a good man?!”

North suddenly understood something.

She had been engaged to Eiger since childhood, and they were to be married today. But when she entered the church, she saw Eiger hugging Melinda intimately.

She had been furious and gone over to question them, only to have pictures of her “cheating” with different men start playing on screen.

The guests looked over.

“How disgusting. She actually slept with so many men? She can’t possibly compare to Miss Melinda, who is as pure as snow.”

“North is actually so wild in private? How embarrassing.”

Henry Myers, her father, was furious. “You truly are just a country bumpkin. You only know how to be shameful! You don’t deserve the marriage with Eiger! Melinda should take your place. Otherwise, we’ll end up a laughing stock!”

North trembled, and her ears rang.

After her mother passed away, Henry chased her out to the countryside to make room for his mistress and illegitimate daughter.

Linda Lane, North’s stepmother, covered her face and started crying. “North, do you actually think Melinda would set you up? She only fell in love! She didn’t do anything wrong!

“Besides, Melinda and Eiger are childhood friends. If you hadn’t insisted on returning just because you were engaged, they would have gotten married a long time ago!”

Melinda shook her head, as if she was trying to ignore how upset she was. “Forget it, Dad, Mom. I know that North hates me. I just need to watch Eiger from afar…”

North saw the family act its heart out, but did not feel anything. She just looked at them mockingly. “Sure. I’ll give up on the marriage. How can I possibly not fulfill Melinda’s wish to continue in her mother’s footsteps of being a gold-digger? Have a happy marriage, and thanks for taking in trash I don’t want.”

Eiger’s expression turned dark. “What are you saying? You’re the one who cheated on me, and you actually have the gall to say such things to Melinda—Melinda, what’s wrong?!”

Midway through his speech, Melinda fell backwards with a pale face. “My heart… hurts… Am I going to die? Don’t blame North for this, Eiger… It’s all my fault…”

Eiger became even more furious. He grabbed North by the head and slammed it against the balustrade.

“You know that Melinda has a heart disease, and you called her a mistress?! I’ve loved Melinda for a long time! You’re the mistress here!

“If anything happens to Melinda, I’m going to make you pay!”

North felt a sharp pain at her temple, and a cold chill spread through her limbs.

Meanwhile, Eiger had already left to look after Melinda. As for the guests, they were gossiping about her and criticizing her.
