Trapped

Chapter 4- Trapped

Trapped, like a trap in a trap - Dorothy Parker

Reign woke up to see her body shivering under the sheets. There was no sign of the sun, when she stood at the window all she saw was fog as thick as a cloud. She turned up the heater in the house and grabbed her pair of bed night slippers from her bag.

She glimpsed up on the bed then went back to packing when her mom alarm in her brain clicked. Amber was not on the bed.

“Amber!” she yelled and rushed towards the stairs. Completely forgetting that she was in a short night wear that’s worn strictly in the bedroom or  if you live by yourself.

“Yes mama!” she heard Amber replied - yell from the kitchen.

“Why didn’t you wake me if you needed something to eat?” she asked her. She was seated on a stool with back brace laughing and talking with Elijah.

“You were sleeping peacefully, mommy. William said, `` I'm not supposed to wake you unless you will wake up looking like Fiona from shrek” Amber smiled and stuffed her mouth with the toast.

The amount of fumes escalating from Reign’s body due to anger was good enough to keep the entire cabin warm.

“Next time tell me, even if it’s Willy-Grinch that told you to do so,” Reign kissed her cheek. “Remember we do not know him well. He could have done something to you.”

“It’s William,” he grumbled. “And what the fu–mble would I do to a toddler?” he hissed. “Looks like you are the one asking for some action.”

“What is that suppose to mean, Mr. Grinch?”

“You came downstairs; you did not say good morning and here you are wearing next to nothing.” He said, his eyes travelling once more over her body.

Reign did even bother to argue with him. Remembering that honestly she was wearing a mesh night shorts and a silk top that outlines her nipples, she ran quickly up the stairs to shower and change.

Reign returned not long after to find them still eating. Elijah was feeding Amber and William was reading a newspaper.

“I’m back,” she said, announcing herself as she took a seat beside Amber, kissing her forehead. “So, Willy, where’s my breakfast?”

“I think he hates you calling him Willy, Mommy,” Amber giggled, as William’s face turned red.

“Yes, we think but Willy has not said it,” Reign smirked, taking the plate from his hands.

“I don’t like being called Willy,” William answered, handing her a cup of coffee.

“Did you hear something?” Reign asked Amber with a grin on her face.”

“Maybe,” Amber giggled more.

“Well I think he loves being called Willy- Grinch,” she smiled.

~***~

William just stepped out of the shower and picked up his camera. His black hair was wet and curly, water dripping down his forehead. He clothed himself in a plaid blue and grey button front shirt  that hugged his body and black skinny jeans. He was not the broad shoulder, eight pack abs guy but beware to keep your women close by when he was around. All he needed was six packs and his heart melting, mouthwatering  smile and every woman would come running in his direction.

William wanted to run a background check on her but he did not know her last name. He could not put them out and he knew nothing about her and had not the slightest idea of how to have a proper conversation with her. Hard headed he thought.

After taking pictures from the balcony of his cabin room, he sat and finished editing his photographs on his laptop and journey downstairs.

“What does Elijah mean by I’m not leaving?” she fumed at him.

“Because you can’t leave, not yet anyway. So go and unpack,” William said to her.

“Why would I be doing that?” Reign asked, folding her arms miserably.

“I guess this is where I ask if I stuttered,” William rolled his eyes.

“You bi-!” she yelled and stopped when Amber walked in the room.

“How dare you speak to me like that?” William gripped her arms.

“How dare you put that filth of a hand on me,” she spat at him.

“I’m William Winchester. You do not speak to me like that,” he hissed through gritted teeth.

“I’m Elizabeth-Reign Davis and I love smacking dick faces in the crotch. Hands off!” she yelled, pushing him backwards.

Bingo! William said in his mind. Her full name.

“Why am I staying here?” she asked. “And what is so funny?”

This girl can’t stop asking questions already? He asked himself.

“There was an accident last night that closed off the main road that leads into the town. Your car is also yet to be fixed. So go make yourself comfortable once more,” he explained.

“Great, just great. Damn you reindeers!” she cried miserably, stomping her feet.

“Stop acting like a child, child. You’re not going to die here,” William scolded her. “Do you need time out or a candy to calm down?”

“Whatever, I’m stuck with a douche named Willy-Grinch,” she shrieked.

“Reign Davis I'm warning you,” he growled.

“You are making the wrong type of noises. You’re supposed to go hoe hoo,” she laughed. “You are Willy Winny the Grinch Pooh.”

“Damn it, I'm losing my patience. This is really a mishap,” he  mouthed then left.

“Told you so!” she smiled and carried her luggage back upstairs.

After everyone went back to their room that night. William began his research on Reign now that he has her last name. After waiting a hour before her profile had been retrieved he read keenly:

Name: Elizabeth-Reign Lily Davis

Age: 23 ¾

Date of Birth: December 19, 1992

Graduate: Leslie High School and Leslie Community College (dropped out)

Mother and father: Linette Davis and Crawford Davis

Sister: Cecile Davis

Mother to: Amber Davis

Occupation: Local Newspaper Writer

Other: No bad road record except 4 speeding tickets. And something else that was very confidential it has CONFIDENTIALITY written in bold and highlighted in red.

William ignored the parts that had to do with the colour of her eyes, hair and how tall she was. He was tempted to click on her confidential information but it’s of no use to him. He just wanted to know that she was not a murderer

“Hey brother, find anything interesting on her?” Elijah asked him.

“Nope she’s all clean,” William replied. “And I can’t wait until she leaves.”

“Why?” Elijah asked.

When no response came, he just read William’s facial expression.

“Because she is one of the few that talks back to you?” Elijah asked. “I find it very entertaining and her daughter is a great company. She got jokes.”

“Yes and it is irritating,” William poured two glasses of scotch.

“Do you like her?” Elijah asked out of the blues.

“No, besides I just met the girl. Also she’s definitely not my type,” William replied.

“Cheers,” Elijah said and clinked their glasses. “To whatever we are drinking.”
