Olivia's POV
I tried to maintain a good posture as I saw them trotting to where I was, each of them having a shocked expression on their face.
Suddenly, some sweet fragrance hit my nose and I gulped some saliva down my throat. They were so savory that I couldn't stop sniffling them in. But when I knew it could be from the triplets, I pushed away my thoughts.
“But hold on a bit. Why am I feeling their bond?” I asked myself, my eyes roaming from one person to another. I was still thinking about that when the same fragrance hit me again, and it was, then I knew something was wrong. They weren't just my stepbrothers, they were my mates!
“Mate!” they both proclaimed again, and I felt my legs become wobbly, making me stagger back in the process.
“Why?” I thought to myself. “Why are they, my mate? How is this possible?” It was outlandish, utterly unacceptable to me. Why would my step-brothers be my mate?
I was still in my thoughts when they got to me. They gazed heavily at me, their eyes boring into my body with facial expressions I couldn't explain. Trust me, I was in a sizzling moment. I could feel my entire core burn with their sensation, and my wolf yearning out for theirs. It was a confusing state for us. No one could tell what had happened and why I was mated to all of them. For real, the moon goddess could be so funny at times. Why should I be mated to my step-brothers?
“She's a maid?” one of them suddenly asked, bringing me out of my thoughts, and I saw a disgusting look landing on their faces. Who's a maid, and what's wrong with being one?
“How could she be our mate?” another asked with doubt in his tone that made me detect how rude he could be.
I've heard about the triplets from my friend, Henry. He had taken time to explain each one of them to me and how I should deal with them when I feel they are bullying me, which I don't think might happen. He mentioned their names as Luca, Lucas, and Lucien. God knows I'm not their fan, even though they were well-known in the pack. Who wouldn't know the triplets? I didn't.
“Hey! Who are you?” the one who had concluded I was a maid asked me again with much arrogance, and his words made my skin creep. I felt so irritated with their questions but anyway, I needed to let them know to clear off their thoughts that I was a maid.
“I_”
The arrogant boy caught me up, “She seemed to be a maid, even though I've not seen her before. But don't you think she would be good at helping us clean up our room?” he told his brothers, and my eyes shone out in shock.
I opened my mouth to speak again but closed them when the last one who hadn't said anything before spoke up. “But why would she be our mate? This is so confusing,” he complained and snorted, irritating me in the process.
“Sure, let's take her in,” the rude one among them said, and two of them walked up to me swiftly, carrying me into their arms while I struggled to get off their grip.
“Get your hands off me!” I yelled at them, but no one gave a fuck. It was as if I were speaking to no one.
They kept pulling me and I kept waiting for them to let go of me, trying to explain that I was no maid, but none of them were ready to give ears to me. I was raged.
Just like they had wanted, we got to their chamber and each of them started to give me work to do. “You must be joking, I am no maid!” I snapped at them.
“Shut the fuck up! You don't disrespect us! We are the sons of the Alpha.”
“And so what?” I wanted to say, but I couldn't let it out, afraid I might not end well. On another thought, I decided to stay calm. They were my stepbrothers, and they had no idea, which would be a perfect way to make them regret their actions. I decided to do the work I was asked to do.
I started with their bathroom and toilet, washing everyone's nook and cranny of it. Trust me, they were neat but the useless step-brothers of mine just wanted to enjoy making me work, I know, but they would surely regret what they had done.
While cleaning, I got to know which of them was Luca, Lucas, and Lucien. Luca looks calm but arrogant, has sharp tongues, and sounds scary, yet most good-looking. His dark curly hair separated him from his other brothers. Lucas looks so seductive and pretty. Yet kind of rude and sensitive, he tries his best to avoid me as I could see hate in his eyes. Lucien, on the other hand, was the only human I could detect among them. He seemed Kind-hearted and intelligent, who must know a lot because all he did was read and stay silent. He attracted me the most, but he still didn't show any sign of love for me.
Anyway, how would I tell them I wasn't also interested in them? They were a bunch of proud, rude things that I tried to cope with even at the first meeting. How do I cope for the rest of my life?
I retired to my room immediately after they let me off, not until draining me of my energy. They should wait some while when I tell Mom what they did to me. I rushed to my bathroom to take my bath and just when I had put on my night clothes, I heard a knock on my door. “Who's there?”
“We're here to pick you up princess, the King needs your attention,” the familiar voice said, and before I could say a word, the door was pushed open and about three maids came in, carrying some elegant boxes with them. They reached out to me and walked me over to my dressing room. It was then I knew they wanted to dress me up.
Minutes later, they were done dolling me up, changing me into a total complete person. I didn't have time to gaze much at my pretty self, since they kept complaining about the king waiting.
The giant door to the throne was opened and I stepped in. Gazing directly at the throne, I saw both my mom and, oh my God, the king, they were smiling beautifully at me.
Just when I was about to climb the throne, their scent suddenly hit me and I shifted my gaze to them. I tried out not to laugh at the bewildered look on their faces.
“Welcome, princess, good to see you?” The king told me as I bowed my head in respect.
“Thank you, your highness,” I replied sheepishly.
“Welcome your stepsister, princes," the king referred to the triplets, and a devilish smile crept on my face. I got you all.
I accepted the darkness that filled me up.The pain in Lucien’s eyes when I floated away caused me to rage, he didn’t deserve to mourn me. He had to pay but who would ever teach him that lesson. For so long, all I did was rage and kept moving in the darkness. Was the afterlife supposed to be this way, empty and filled with my pain! One problem was that I just couldn’t remember how I had gotten here and for how longI've been here or how much more I was going to be here but I had to get out of here. I couldn't stay here anymore. The actions that led me here are vague in my memory, I died.I died in the hands of the man that said he loved me…the man that supposedly cared. My legs gave way for me and I collapsed on the floor tired and frustrated. It was too dark in here and I couldn't see anything. I was supposed to get out of here? Back home did anyone even miss me?My child!!!There was no way I was going to let him have her.Was this how the afterlife was designed to look?I couldn’
OLIVIA'S POV.The past three years had not been a not so easy journey for me. I had to leave the pack to birth my child due to the fact that I couldn't bear to face the embarrassment and shame that was associated with having a child out of wedlock. After leaving leaving the pack to give birth, I had sought solitude in a remote cabin deep in the woods, far away from the life I had known. Lucien had been the father of my child, a secret that I had kept hidden from even my own family.I had needed time to regain my sense of self, to come to terms with the conflicting emotions that had swirled around me. Being away from the pack had allowed me to heal, but it had also been a lonely and challenging path. Lucien's support had made it less lonely, but it could only go so far. I had to deal with the rest of the same by myself. As I cradled our child in my arms, I gazed out of the cabin's window. I had given birth to a beautiful, precious life, but it had come at the cost of leaving behind the
Marcus POVWhen I was about to go bed tonight and Elina joked about leaving me behind someday just because I didn't offer her a piece of my dessert seemed like a joke to me but as I held her lifeless body in my arms I couldn't help but blame myself for being so stupid. It all started when I got a distress signal from the head guard at the weak spit of our forte and I dismissed it thinking it was the usual alarm when they saw a wild animal but I was wrong, there was tons of things I was wrong about that night.I was also wrong about Lucien, he wasn't my brother no, he was the cruel bastard who took away my mate and soul away from me. I couldn't help but feel nothing at first but then got hit by a huge wave of excruciatingly painful pain and tears couldn't alleviate it. Elina gave her life for me and died in my arms right before me and I couldn't do anything to save her life. I had promised her eternity yet I couldn't guarantee few years for herHer once tender and warm hands now felt c
FlashbackLucien's POVMy lips curled into a wicked smile as I watched the soldiers prepare their weapons and sharpen their swords. A soldier unsheathed his sword and it shone brightly more than the others and I was instantly attracted to it, I signalled for him to come and when he did I gently patted his shoulders and spoke with a loud voice."Whoever manages to kill a hundred men of our enemies I will not only give him a sword made of pure gold but also anything he wants!" I declared. They all cheered and howled loudly, I chuckled seeing their enthusiasm to destroy what was once my pride but I needed to weed out the weeds before they sprout more than usual. Damon strode in fully clad in his armor and arched his eyebrow seeing the men were in high spirits, I tilted my head slightly and smiled."What's up with them?" He asked in more of a whisper."You can ask them yourself, I have them a little bit of a morale. Whoever kills the most will get a price from me." I narrated. He frowned
Olivia’s POV"I'll get the orange juice." I volunteered and reached for the fridge. I took out the jug of orange juice and took it to the dining room, dropped it on the table and went back to the kitchen to get cups. As I was about to reach for the cups in the cupboard they were kept I suddenly felt dizzy.I shook my head to shake off the feeling and my vision cleared once more. I returned the cups to the dining table and the pancakes were already served, Riana couldn't wait to eat as I hungrily devoured my own portion after they said the grace. They gossiped over the meal and Deborah told them of the hysterical patient that had been at the ward who wouldn't stop asking for his mommy all through the night. The man was thirty-five years old and he still cried to be given a lollipop and also requested for his mom's presence. The three ladies laughed at this as well and then they ran out of orange juice.I once again offered to get it and went to the fridge to get an anatomy jug of ju
Olivia's POV“All this while I’ve been sick like you know. I just want to settle some things in the Pack and make sure I’ve handled some things before you come home with our baby. ” Lucien said, looking at me with a very frank look on his face. That gave me the hint that whatever he wanted to say must be so important. My mind was quite unsettled because I didn’t know for sure if he was all better now or he was hiding it from me.“So are you better now or is that what you wanted to tell me?” I walked searching deeply into his eyes.I knew the type of person he was and he would do anything just to make sure I don’t worry about him. That was the whole reason he brought me here and I didn’t want to make things harder for him so I didn’t object. Here it was more peaceful and I had to live among humans but it wasn’t so hard to do with the people I had around. Even if I didn’t tell Lucien about the hee friends I had because he didn’t want to take any chances, I was being careful myself.“I’m
