Chapter 84

At the break of dawn, the troop set out again in search, with Elena leading the way. They walked for hours across unfamiliar lands until they reached another pack.

Garrett went ahead to speak to those on patrol. The head of the Skyhigh pack patrol approached Garrett and bowed.

"I expected your Alpha to be here," Garrett told him.

"The Alpha is currently unavailable, sir," the man replied.

Garrett nodded. "My troop and I are on a quest, so we will pass through your lands and take the forest path. Will there be any problem with that?" he asked.

The man bowed, not wanting to offend the Alpha king. "Not at all, sir. But some of my men will have to accompany you until you are out of our land, if you don't mind," he said.

"I don't," Garrett informed him. He turned away and walked back to his troops. Ten warriors from the Skyhigh pack joined them to guide them out of their lands and remain on high alert in case the strangers decided to attack.
