Rylee's POV.

After calculating all the money that I had spent on Nash, I looked at Bella's smug face and told her, "10 million."

"What? How did you spend up to that amount? Where exactly is a poor stinking Omega like you working?" Bella asked, taking me by surprise, and I smiled.

"I worked and fed Nash for five years, and you think it's a coin. Pay me 10 million, or I will continue with my relationship with Nash!" I threatened Bella, not minding that I was in her father's house or that she was a Beta wolf.

"Bella, what's going on here?" A pretty middle-aged woman came out of the house, and she wore an orange dress, and she didn't resemble Bella, making me wonder who she was.

I didn't know the Beta family, and it's not like I care to know about them anyway.

"Good afternoon, Ma," Elizabeth greeted the woman, and I mumbled, "Good afternoon." As the woman stood next to Bella, she was tall and blonde.

"Mom, this is the Omega that is secretly dating my mate. Shouldn't we report her to Alpha Malakai?" Bella asked her mother, as she acted with puppy dog eyes.

"No, Bella. You cannot get Alpha Malakai involved in this. Young woman, do you want to go to prison? Why are you dating a mated man?" Bella's mother asked me, and I frowned.

"With all due respect, Madam. I am not dating your daughter's mate. She stole my boyfriend, who happened to become her mate," I said, glaring at Bella, and she yelled, "Mom, I am not going to stand here and have this Omega insult me."

"Bella," her mother looked back at her, and Bella became quiet. I noticed her mother was a Beta wolf too. No wonder the Beta families were strong. They were many Beta families in the Dark Shadow Pack.

"What do you want to stay away from my daughter's mate? You know that it is a taboo to be dating a mated man?" Bella's mother asked me softly, and I nodded.

"I understand, ma'am. We have been friends for five years. All I am asking Bella to do is to pay me off, and she can have her mate, and I won't come in between them," I said, though the words came out hoarsely. It was better that I get paid than I lose.

"How much are you requesting?" Bella's mother asked me, and before I could respond, Bella yelled, "Mom, I will only give her 5 million as compensation for the money she spent on Nash. Did she want to tell me that she didn't benefit from her friendship with my mate? Why can't she wait to find her own mate other than secretly hooking up with others' mates!"

"Bella. Now go inside, unless I will have the guards discipline you. Don't you know that matters of the heart are more complicated than we think, and sometimes we tend to blame the moon goddess for giving us the wrong mate!" Bella's mother's eyes shone red with anger, and Bella looked at me with a warning glare.

"Fine, Mom. But she shouldn't dare to date Nash behind my back again. Else, I will deal with her," Bella turned and went back into the house, and the whole compound became peaceful.

Bella's mother sighed and turned to look at me and Elizabeth, who were both waiting for our compensation.

She sighed and said, "How much did you ask for my daughter to pay you?"

"I didn't ask her to pay me. She insisted that she pay me up for the five years that I spent sponsoring her fated mate to the packs University before they met," I said, trying to keep my emotions steady.

"Who is the man?" Bella's mother asked, as she stood in front of me.

"Ma'am, I cannot tell you who he is. Why not ask your daughter who her mate is? All I want is my money, or else, I will continue with my affair with my boyfriend, and Bella can reject him," I said with full confidence, and Bella's mother said.

"I want to know who is the man that you are fighting for with my daughter. There is no way that he will be from a prestigious family, and you will spend such a huge amount on him. Don't worry, I will compensate you, but you need to tell me who is this man that you and my daughter are fighting for?"

I looked at Elizabeth's face as she appeared tense.

"He is Nash Cameron," I said, and the bright color in Bella's mother's face drained off. As she gasped, "What?!"

"Ma'am, blame it on the moon goddess. Bella and Nash are mates, and I don't know what they had done behind me, and if they have already become mated. But they got engaged last night in the Pack's hotel. All I want is my compensation for wasting my time with Nash," I said. I didn't care to know whether Beta James Harvey would accept Nash or not as his son-in-law. But all that isn't my business. Either Bella compensates me, or she watches me marry Nash.

"Mmm. This is beyond me. Do you have a phone? I will have to discuss it with her father before compensating you. I am sure he doesn't know who Bella's mate is. How can his rejected ex-mate's son be my daughter's mate," Bella's mother looked sad, and I looked away.

"This is my phone number," I copied out my number on my phone screen, and she looked at it.

"Fine. Let me call my number for you. You give me a flash call, and I will call you back," Bella's mother said, as she gave me her contact.

"I am Summer Harvey. You can store it as Bella's mother."

"Alright, ma'am. I will be on my way now. Please talk to your daughter to keep her distance from me. I have no issues with her except for Nash and realizing they are mates. I am ready to step aside once I get my compensation," I said, and Mrs. Summer nodded.

"It's alright. Take care," Summer said, and I looked at Elizabeth and told her, "Let's go."

As Elizabeth and I left the house, she asked me, "Are you sure that Beta James and his family will compensate you for spending your hard-earned money on Nash? I find it hard to believe they will."

I kept a strict face as I followed the road that led toward the mighty black gate with a dark wolf head at the top.

"They will. As they wouldn't want history to repeat itself," I mumbled, getting tired as I hadn't eaten since I woke up. The sun was out, and the surrounding was lively.

Most of the elite families living in this pack house glanced at Bella and me as we made our way out of the pack house.

However, we ran into Nash as he dropped down from a tricycle and asked us, "Rylee, Elizabeth. I am sorry that I took so long to arrive. What really happened?"

I looked away from Nash, not ready to speak to him. He didn't even tell me that he wanted to propose to Bella. So why should I waste my time discussing it with him? I only wanted my compensation and not like I wanted him back. It was over between us.
