Chapter 17

I opened my eyes to see I was back in Lyall’s room. I sat up in bed to see my parents o the couch and Lyall pacing back and forth in his room.

“Why is everyone in here?” I asked groggily.

“Azura! You’re awake!” Lyall came rushing over to me.

“I had only fainted, why is everyone so worried?” I asked.

“My love, you fainted two days ago.”

I looked at him in shock. “It’s been two days since Jay was here?!”

“Yes, you started mumbling something before falling over. I caught you before you could hit the ground and you haven’t woken since. We were starting to get worried. We’ve had doctors here and all of them couldn’t figure out why you weren’t waking up. They put an IV line in and said all they could tell was that you were in a deep sleep and to wait until you woke up.”

I finally noticed all of the medical equipment in the room attached to me monitoring all of my vitals.

“She came to me again. The Moon Goddess. We only talked for a short while but I guess time moves differently when I am with her. I’m sorry for worrying you all.”

“I’m just glad you’re okay. What did she have to say this time?” Lyall held my hand.

“We have to work together to break the curse and fulfill the prophecy. I have to help you bring light into you and you have to help me control my power and not let the darkness over take me. Just as your darkness could kill me, my power could kill me as well. She also told me I had to stay strong and never lose faith in myself. I’m stronger than I think.”

Lyall smiled at me, “Don’t worry my love. We got this. As long as we work together everything will turn out fine.”

My father cleared his throat, “I’m sorry to interrupt but I was just informed a Connor Vilkas and his mate Tish have arrived. Is this who you had bring the scripts and books over?”

Lyall nodded, “Yes, that’s my best friend and his mate. Would it be alright for them to stay for a few days while we looked into the prophecy more? They could help us out.”

“That’s perfectly fine. The more eyes we have looking over everything the better. Let’s go greet them and allow Azura to freshen up. She’s been in bed for two days. She stinks.” My father said.

I stuck my tongue out at him, “Thanks dad!”

My parents giggled as they left the room. I turned towards Lyall.

“Go meet your friends. I’ll shower and get dressed. I should be done by the time you get back here with them.” I smiled at him.

Lyall leaned towards me and kissed my forehead. “I’m glad you’re fine. I’ve been worried sick. Thankfully I’ve been able to control my anger the past few days. You’re already working your magic on me my love.” He smiled. “I’ll be back shortly. I love you.”

“I love you too.”

Once everyone was out of the room a doctor came in shortly after to take my IV line out and detach me from all the machines.

“I’m glad you’re awake Ms Azura. Everyone has been so worried about you.” The doctor told me.

“I’m sorry I worried everyone. I didn’t mean too.”

“Don’t be sorry Ms Azura, you’re special to everyone here and soon to all wolves.” She smiled at me.

Once she was done she left quickly with all of the machines. I got up and stretched and made my way to the shower. I let the warm water beat down on me. It felt so good to move and the warm water helped my muscles relax from not moving for the past two days. Once I felt relaxed I quickly finished my shower and got dressed.

I walked out of Lyall’s room and went to head towards the living room when Raven came rushing at me.

“Don’t you EVER do that to me again! I’ve been worried sick about you! I thought I lost my best friend!” She sobbed.

“Raven I’m sorry to worry you. Plus don’t you know you can’t get rid of me that easily!” I tried to joke to lighten the mood.

“Not funny Azura! Everyone has been sick and worried. You looked like you were dead!” She sobbed some more.

I hugged her and tried to comfort her as best as I could.

“I’m alive and well. Time moves differently in the otherworld with the Moon Goddess. To me I have only been gone a few hours if that.”

“You saw her again?!” Raven was surprised.

I nodded my head and smiled, “She’s watching me very carefully. Raven I wish you could see her! She’s amazing and so gorgeous!”

“One day I will meet her but not anytime soon I hope. I’ll stick with keeping my feet here on this side of life.”

We both started laughing and headed towards the living room. When we got there everyone was just getting things laid on on the tables and floor so we could start to look at it all.

“This must be our future Queen!” A girl I haven’t met before came running up to me.

“Azura, my love, this is Tish, and this ugly duck over here is my best friend Connor.”

I smiled at them both, “It’s so nice to meet you both.”

Tish was hoping back and forth from one foot to the other. “The pleasure is all mine my Queen. I’ve been so excited to meet you once word got out Lyall had found his mate and not just only that! You’re the true Pure Hearted Wolf! Our future Queen of wolves!”

Tish was more excited than I was. I was terrified and had no clue what being the Queen would entail. I’ve never be a leader for anything, let alone all of the wolves.

Once everyone was introduced we got down to business and started looking through everything we had.

After a few hours of my mother called everyone for dinner. We all knew we needed a break so we stopped and went to eat. Nothing could be figured out in one day anyways.

We had dinner in the meeting hall since we had a few extra guests with us.

“Has anyone found anything interesting or helpful yet?” My father asked.

“So far everything I’ve found is what we already know.” Raven stated.

“Same.” Wyatt and Connor said at the same time.

“The book I’m reading is talking about the powers they believe the Wolf Queen will have.” I said.

Everyone looked at me.

“Anything interesting?” My father asked.

“I’m scared to read it.” I frowned.

“It’s okay my love. This is a lot to take in.” Lyall tried reassuring me.

“Yeah…Can we please just talk about something else right now?” I asked.

“Of course.” My father said.

I sat quietly the rest of dinner. My head was spinning with so much information. I did read some of the book about what powers people think I would have. I just didn’t want to discuss it yet. I didn’t know what they think is true or not. I had to learn and find out myself before getting peoples hopes up.

*You okay my love?* Lyall linked me.

*Not really. Just so much has happened it’s a lot to take in.*

*I understand. If you want tomorrow you can take a break while we all continue to dig through everything. See if Raven will have a girls day with you. Give yourself a break and time with one of your best friends.*

*Yeah maybe. I don’t know. I might just do my own thing and have some me time.*

He grabbed my hand and squeezed it. I looked up at him and tried to smile but I could only half smile at him.

I got up and cleaned up my plate and walked out into the backyard. I needed some fresh air. I walked to one of the benches that was outside and sat down and looked up at the night sky.

“Moon Goddess I’m so scared. I’m scared I’m going to fail you and everyone else. What if I’m not strong enough?” I whispered to the sky.

*You’re stronger than you think* I heard come from the forest. I looked where the voice came from but I didn’t see anything.

After a little bit I decided to sit down on the grass and try something that I read in the book. One of the powers that is rumored for me to have is the power of site. It said if I concentrate hard enough I am able to see the past and the future.

So I sat down with my legs crossed hands on my knees and I closed my eyes and cleared my head of thoughts. I sat there like that for what felt like forever and just when I was about to give up I felt a sensation come over my whole body. When I opened my eyes all I saw was a bright white light all around me and slowly everything around me disappear from my view.
