Chapter Twelve

The nagging feelings returned with my eyes opened in the morning. Light filtered in through the leaves of the tree out of the window. I wrapped my arms around myself, rubbing my hands on my arms. I could feel the goosebumps.

I became increasingly aware of his presence, and my gaze drifted around, looking for him. My gaze halted on him, finding him already looking at me. His shirtless body was glistening with sweat. He was doing push-ups, but his eyes were lifted to me.

His amber gaze both frightened and stirred something deep in my belly.

Drawing himself up, he trotted over to the table where his towel was waiting for him. He grabbed the towel and rubbed it around his neck, and his sculpted chest.

His arms crossed, a stern look marring his face. He slowly stepped forward, raising an eyebrow, "Didn't I tell you to train yesterday, mate?" His voice dropped, and I realized I had stirred the wolf within him.
