Hiding.

I stepped out of my car into the bar, only to come face to face with my boss.

"You're late." He said.

Late by only seven minutes. I didn't complain, only nodding my head.

“Ah yeah. Sorry about that, boss,” i said, flashing a small smile as I did.

"I'm still paying you." He warned.

"That you are," I nodded. As if I was actually using his money. I scoffed inwardly. Most of the time, the salary he gave was usually stored in an account. When it was big enough, it was used to unsolicitedly buy drinks into the bar again. He didn't even notice.

See? I could be selfless.

I waited until he passed to roll my eyes. I moved to my station, behind the bar. Back then, it was sort of like a test project, a question of if I could manage to work among human society. Until I got used to it, that is. Despite the bar not being the best, I loved watching the interactions, despite my inability to personally engage in them.

I looked forward to the people cleaning and waitresses, all of them strangers
