RILEY'S POV

"Is this the Listener?"

The hoarse voice in the dark room asked, just then, the lights went on.

I scooted by the corner of the empty room gazing blankly at the middle-aged man in an immaculately tailored suit as he marched my way, leaned into me, his blue eyes were all I could see before he strengthened.

"Strip her of all filth, we present her to Prince Norman in two hours."

The perfectly coiffed lady in the room doubled over leading me to the connecting room. After a while of bathing, hairdo, and beautiful floral dress, I looked pretty in the mirror.

"Can you tell me what my thoughts are right now?" The tall and imposing man raised his chin in subtle challenge when I met him by the door.

My horror began. I knew nothing of his thoughts. I bit my tongue and tried not to shake my head as he led me through the long and pearly hallway.

I didn't expect it, but they clothed and fed me. It wasn't as terrible as I'd imagined yet, The pancakes tasted better than what I ever had. After breakfast, they led me to the main section of the opulent mansion, my eyes taking in its beauty.

Prince Norman wasn't hard to recognize. His iconic golden hair and brilliant green eyes made me realize the man on the threshold of the main building was the son of King Baldwin Edelman. Handsome as always.

I gulped.

"Chadwick you're late!" He growled, green eyes searching the middle-aged man beside me.

"I'm here. She's here, your Majesty," Chadwick amended, bowing courteously.

"Get her in the truck, we head East." Prince Norman commanded, starting towards the waiting car, he paused in his tracks, glanced over his shoulder at me before he changed his heart, "No, she'll ride with me."

This doubled my anxiety.

Was it safe to be the one to tell them I had no such abilities other than waiting until they found out? Disappointment was never a good emotion. This Prince could kill me if he found out in the face of danger I didn't possess the gift he sought.

Prince Norman reached the car in no time with his hard jaws clenched, his gaze peering impatiently my way.

A nightmare was unfolding before me. Chadwick used his index finger to kick-start me. A jab on my shoulder blade had me moving towards the waiting prince.

It was hard not to gawk at the handsome Prince in the morning sun looking like a god straight out of Greek. His sheened hair glowed in the sun, height was intimidating.

This had to be a dream. Walking to Prince Norman by his car was a dream I never thought could come true.

"What is your name?" He asked when I stood before him, waiting to be granted access to the car.

"Riley Cooper," I mumbled quietly with eyes on my sweaty and trembling fingers.

I was beyond intimidated.

His eyes searched me a little longer than expected, something at the edge of his green eyes that was inexplicable. He nodded, stepped aside, and held the door open for me.

Without an idea of where we were headed, I stepped into the car feeling like my heart would convulse at any moment. Norman settled beside me in his seat, his attention on the phone in his hand as his chauffeur set the car in motion.

His clenched jaws made it seem he constantly was grinding rocks with his teeth. His gaze darkened dangerously as he typed briefly into his phone, an air of warning settled around his hardened features. His eyes, lips, and how intoxicating his woody scent filling the car to plague my nostrils was. This man would certainly kill me for deception.

He cleared his throat and looked away from his phone, eyes falling on mine. I Instantly averted mine, flustering to be caught ogling his way.

"Sorry." I gulped, feeling more embarrassed than ever.

Norman studied me from the dark end of his car, his long legs stretched out in front of him, a frown plastered on his harshly attractive face, fingers in a steeple in front of his curious lips.

How was he real?

"Your first task is pretty simple," his deep accent had an eerie effect on me. He considered me briefly before adding, "You're going to attend a meeting with me. Mr. Chadwick will give you a notepad, I need you to write in it every thought in the room, every single thought including mine. Hand this notepad to me afterward."

All the air left my lungs. My fingers grew instantly numb.

"Is this something you can do, Riley?"

His deceptive mildness was one trick I could never fall for. I heard tales of this man's ruthlessness.

Tell him the truth!

My brain argued. Now was the moment of truth. It was now or never.

His brows furrowed when I took longer than demanded to respond. Lying to the High Prince was punishable but his hardened gaze suggested he wasn't the man to mess around with, my head seemed to have a mind of its own because it nodded convincingly.

I had no idea how long we'd driven for but the sound of gravel crunching, accompanied by a mechanical whirl forced me to peel my gaze from Norman in a suit and tie to the window. The car drove another minute and pulled up in front of a business complex building.

"Can I use the bathroom?" I requested the second my feet touched the ground right after Norman.

If cast deaf ears to my request.

A phalanx of security guards all in black sleekly tailored suits led us towards the front entrance and stepped aside only when we stepped into the elevator.

Mr. Chadwick, Norman's executive assistant, handed me a notepad and whispered into my ears, "Prince Norman's counting on you, don't mess this up."

And if I did?

"You're not breathing, Riley." Mr. Chadwick pointed out.

I nodded regardless and focused more on my breath until we walked into the vast conference room.

Bile rose from the pit of my stomach and threatened to spill. This had me more nervous than I ever could be.

This certainly was the end of me.

Riley's POV One week later.I stood beside Norman on a raised platform, the soft, rich fabric of my gown rustling around my ankles. It was a beautiful gown, made of the finest white silk, woven with silver threads that glittered in the sunlight filtering through the grand hall’s stained-glass windows. On my head, a delicate circlet rested, not heavy with jewels, but elegant and symbolizing my new role.Today, Norman was being crowned King of the whole kingdom, and I, his mate, was being presented as his Queen and Luna. My heart beat a steady rhythm against my ribs, a mixture of nerves, pride, and an overwhelming sense of wonder. Just a few months ago, I was a runt, a troubled past. Now, I stood before thousands, about to be declared Queen. It felt like a dream. The grand hall was packed, a sea of faces stretching back as far as I could see. The air buzzed with excitement, with the low rumble of happy chatter, and the anticipation of the ceremony. HornSide warriors and pack members wh

  • Mated to the triplet alpha princes   Chapter 75

Riley's POV For a moment, he just stared at me, his eyes wide, unblinking. His jaw dropped slightly. The pain, the remorse, the exhaustion, all seemed to vanish, replaced by pure, utter shock. “Parents?” he whispered, the word barely a breath.I nodded, tears streaming down my face, a shaky smile blooming. “Pups. More than one, he thinks. He said it’s early, but…”“Pups?!” he roared, a genuine, joyful roar this time. He pushed himself up, ignoring his bandages, ignoring the pain, his arms reaching for me. “Riley! Pups! We’re having pups!”He pulled me into a fierce, surprisingly gentle embrace, despite his wounds. I nestled against his chest, feeling the strong beat of his heart, the warmth of his skin. The scent of him, filled my senses, comforting and familiar. This was where I belonged. This was what I had almost lost.He pulled back slightly, his hands cupping my face, his eyes shining with unshed tears of happiness. “A celebration!” he declared, his voice booming, filled with an

Riley's POV Hours passed, or maybe it was only minutes; I lost track. Damon was eventually stabilized, taken to a separate, more secure room. The doctor had been grim but said he would live, if barely. Eventually, the medical room emptied, leaving me alone with the quiet hum of equipment and the lingering scent of blood. The initial shock began to wear off, replaced by a deep, aching despair. I had to talk to Norman. I had to. This couldn't be how things ended. Not after everything. Not when I had such important news.I found him in a smaller, quieter recovery room. He was propped up on his bed, looking pale and drawn, his chest heavily bandaged. His eyes were closed, his breathing shallow. He looked exhausted, perhaps even more exhausted than he had looked when he was bedridden. I stood at the doorway for a long time, my heart pounding, gathering my courage. What do you say to a man who just stabbed his brother because he thought you betrayed him? How do you even begin?I took a d

  • Mated to the triplet alpha princes   Chapter 73

Riley's POV The air still smelled faintly of smoke and blood, a grim reminder of the chaos that had swept through HornSide. A day had passed already, a long, agonizing day filled with hushed reports and the distant sounds of clean-up. The outlanders, by some miracle, had been pushed back, defeated. Our warriors, though battered and grieving, had held the line. HornSide was safe, for now. But the cost had been heavy. My own body ached with a deep, weary exhaustion, but it was nothing compared to the knot of dread that had tightened in my stomach ever since I’d seen Norman fall. Now, I stood beside Norman’s bed in the medical wing, a cramped, sterile room that smelled of antiseptic and lingering fear. The light was dim, softened by the heavy curtains drawn across the window. My gaze was fixed on his still, pale face. The slow, shallow rise and fall of his chest was the only assurance tha he was alive. That was all that mattered.Dr. Walker, with his tired eyes and steady hands, leaned

  • Mated to the triplet alpha princes   Chapter 72

Norman's POVThe BANG that tore through the air was not a sound of celebration, nor a training drill gone wrong. It was the raw, brutal roar of war. My mind, still reeling from the devastating scene with Riley, snapped into immediate, terrifying clarity. I spun back towards Riley, who stood frozen in the training field, eyes wide. Her face was pale, streaked with tears, a mix of heartbreak and dawning terror. For a split second, my eyes locked with hers, and I saw the vulnerability there, the shock. My wolf gave a sharp, urgent whine. Despite the burning betrayal that still gnawed at me, despite the picture seared into my brain, the urge to keep her safe, to shield her from harm, was overwhelming. She was my mate. No matter what had happened, that bond, that instinct, was ingrained.“Riley! To cover! Now!” I roared, my voice cutting through the rising clamor, sharp and commanding. I didn’t waste time with words of comfort, couldn’t bring myself to. My hand, still trembling from the f

  • Mated to the triplet alpha princes   Chapter 71

Norman's POVThe drive to HornSide was a grinding nightmare. Every mile felt like a hundred, every turn in the road a cruel delay. The few warriors in the truck were sensible enough not to engage in any conversation that might get me irritated. Their ability to keep shut is a clear evidence they knew something was boiling inside of me.The image was seared into my mind. Her face, tilted up. His lips, pressed to hers. The soft light of dusk. It looked… intimate. Consensual. It was a betrayal that ripped through me, tearing apart everything I thought I knew, everything I believed we had. The urge to hit something, to smash my fist through a wall, through anything, was a constant, vibrating tremor in my hands. When the truck finally pulled up outside the HornSide pack house, I barely registered the sounds. The greetings from HornSide warriors, the excited murmurs from my own troops, all faded into a dull roar. My vision was tunneled. My focus was singular. I stepped out, my boots hittin
