Mag-log in[Avira]
Instead of a silver spark which I had desperately hoped for, my spark was green! This is so not good, I repeated in my head as I stepped out of the chalk drawn circle, and took my position close to the members of my group. Not close though but closer than any other wolf or hunting group. Much to my relief, the members of my hunting group were all wolves. Male! Male wolves had the tendency to mind their business way more than she-wolves. But there was a strange wolf in my group, one I have never seen, and I immediately wished it was not the stranger from earlier today. The strange wolf in my group was glaring at me, and I couldn't understand why. Again, I wished it was not him. Alpha Demian had shifted back into his human form, and was about to address the rest of us, and while the rest of us shifted our gaze towards his direction, I still felt like I was was being watched, and I didn't need to look too far to know who was staring at me. "Now that you know the group you belong to, the hunting will commence tomorrow by 10:00 PM which means there will be an assembly an hour before. Beta Maverick will give directions on the ground each group is to cover come tomorrow." Alpha Demian spelled out, and reached for the Alpha's moonbrand which now laid on the floor where the moon crystal was moved from. Once he lifted the moonbrand off the floor, he chanted an incantation from the scroll, and the moon crystal slowly descended until it landed softly on the floor at the centre of the circle. While the moon crystal descended, the cloud gradually shifted from darkness into broad daylight, and this was followed by another round of loud cries as we all shifted from our wolf forms back to our human forms. We stood with each other as group members only we were now in our human forms. I peered at the members of my group and realized that that the strange wolf was no one else but the same stranger. He was staring at me, and didn't look away even when our eyes locked. Jerk! I cussed in my head and looked away but his stares kept boring into the side of my face. All I had to do was to completely ignore him although I had a feeling that ignoring him wouldn't be easy. But seriously, how did we end up in the same hunting group? Well, I shrugged after some time. It could only be a coincidence which happens all the time. I already had a bad feeling about him, and I will do all I can to avoid having anything to do with him. "We shall assemble tomorrow by 09:00 PM to begin the hunt. Remember, the rogue Wolf will be killed on sight." Alpha Demian instructed the pack, dismissing us. I hurried out of the shed, and headed home. The Beta will not arrive until about an hour later, and I needed to prepare lunch before he arrived or face been placed at the stock again, and beaten. "Avira!" I heard from behind me. It was my name alright, and I was the only one in the pack that bore the name. The voice was not familiar, and was far too polite to be anyone in the pack. Besides I had nothing to do with anyone from the pack, and no one would dare call my name. I turned towards the direction where the voice had sounded from when I heard it a second time, and my face twisted up in a frown. It was the stranger, and he was heading towards me with so much speed. What the fuck does he want, and how the fuck did he know my name? I decided I did not want the answers to those questions as much as I did not want anything to do with him, and continued my walk towards the Beta's quarters. My action would discourage any other person, and make him back off but not this jerk as he continued to walk after me, and even increased his pace. I was the Beta's ward or slave sometimes, and had nothing to do with anyone else. Whatever I faced as the Beta's slave or enjoyed as his ward was my business, and mine alone. Although at first, it was difficult for me but I soon got used to it, and even relished in the freedom now. But then this jerk had come from god-knows-where to stir things up. "What is it that you want?" I snapped when he got to where I was. I wanted him to let me be but he seemed too much of a blockhead to get it. "I just want to be friends." He said, and I didn't hide my displeasure. Friends? What does that even mean? I could barely exchange pleasantries with a she-wolf let alone have a male as a friend. If the Beta should see me in such close proximity with a male, I know just what will happen to me, and it wouldn't be funny. "We can't be friends," I said, increasing my pace, and walking out of him but he easily fell into place with me, which made me let out a frustrated sigh. "But why? I don't bite. Well, my wolf does, sometimes." He joked and I rolled my eyes. I'm not laughing at his stupid joke. He can ride straight to hell for all I care, and take his joke along. "I'll tell you this just once," I said, looking around to see if there was anyone within earshot. Not that they would report me to the Beta though. It was more like I didn't exist in this pack until I am fully initiated which would only happen when I am mated. "I am the Beta's..." I hesitated, not sure whether to say ward or slave. "I live with the pack's Beta, and it's safer for you if you stayed away." I had wanted to sound as harsh as possible but I had ended up talking to him politely which I hated. "The Beta," he said as if something just fell into place. "Are you happy with him?" He asked, and I shook my head once I realized what he meant. "I'm not his mate." I said quickly. He let out a relieved sigh, and I scoffed. Whatever thought was running through his mind was vain. "I have an obligation to protect you." He said, bringing down his voice, and I scoffed. "From the Beta." He added when I said nothing, and I shot him a look. It was obvious he was trying to get himself killed. I realized that I had wasted quite a lot of time already, and continued my walk towards the Beta's quarters. "I feel every pain you feel, and every whip you receive from the Beta." He declared, and again, I wondered how that was even possible. "By the way what did you apply to your stomach?" He asked, disrupting my moment. The stomach ache as I had just realized, was gone. Who are you? I wanted to ask but instead, I stopped abruptly, and faced him. We had walked to the spot where I couldn't dare let him go any further. My face had lost all of it's softness and gentleness as I stared hard at him. I was trying to decipher the truthfulness of his claims but it wasn't easy or possible anymore. His claims was beginning to sound less like a coincidence even though I wouldn't dare believe it to be true. "Stop following me." I said instead, and walked away through the footpath that led to Beta Maverick's quarters, leaving him to stare at me while I went out of his sight.[Declan] Dylan and I remained in his bedroom for some time even after the servant left. For one we didn't give a fuck about our father's guests, and for another,we were consumed with guilt. Guilt that had allowed our father to convince us to stay back from searching for Avira. Of course we sent warriors to search for her in places we have searched, but not going with them was as good as not making a single effort. Dylan soon got up from the bed rather reluctantly, stretched out his muscles lazily, and then he turned to face me. Left for me alone, I will not go to our father. I was beginning to regret letting Dylan talk me into staying back. "The deed is done already. Let's go welcome his guests." Dylan called, and then he stretched his hand to pull me up but I ignored it, and got up by myself. There were three of them, his guests. An Alpha I didn't think I had seen before and his two daughters
[Avira] The whip landed heavily on my back, the sharp crack echoing through the narrow stretch of the vast empty land. Pain exploded across my skin, hot and blinding, racing through every nerve in my body. My breath hitched, my hands clawing into the dirt beneath me. But the pain was not what terrified me most. We were out of the cave now, and dawn was fast approaching with the air chilly.. But neither of my mates were here yet. I was slowly losing my grip on hope. "You will get more whips if you continue to stall," the man said with a laugh. He was enjoying this. I could hear it in the way he dragged his words, and then lifted up the whip, ready to strike me again. I said nothing. Instead, I clenched my muscles, and focused on my breathing, slow and deliberate, forcing myself not to scream. Screaming was what he wanted from me, screaming would only please him, and I would ha
[Dylan] "Which route did they take?" I heard Declan ask the men by the door, and I also heard them mumbling in response. How could anyone be so stupid, and let the one person they were commanded to protect go away with a different group? I heard the bang, the shattering, and then whimpering, and I knew what Declan was doing to them. I was in her bedroom, looking closely at everything, and searching for nothing in particular. Something around here should point me to a clue, or be one. But there was nothing. Exhaling and inhaling were as difficult as fuck now as I couldn't help but wonder where Avira was now, and what she was facing. About what she was facing, I am supposed to feel any pain she experiences, and so far I have gotten nothing! Is it that there was no pain? Is it that the bond had been severed? Because come to think of it, I
[Avira]I couldn't tell how long I was out for, or how much longer I would have stayed unconscious, but I forced my eyes open when I felt someone sending violent kicks to my side. The kick sent painful signals to my brain, making my muscles clench on their own, but my attacker, whoever it was, wouldn't stop kicking me. It was utterly dark, and I could not make out anything that would give me a clue as to where I was. I didn't need the events that took place to flash through my memory because I remembered them clearly. I remembered the faces of the warriors who had lured me out of the pack on the pretense that both Dylan and Declan were badly wounded. I remembered the warrior who had hit me violently, and Mira's screams.Mira! Is she okay? Did she get hit as well?"Please stop, you're hurting her. Please!" Mira's teary voice cut through the darkness, begging the bastard, whoever it was, to stop. But he didn't. I promised myself to not scream in pain or plead for mercy, so instead,
[Avira]I felt a sudden weakness from my waist downwards, and my heart skipped a beat. How I managed to keep standing was a miracle."Excuse me," I said to the men who had brought the news, and went back inside, my heart heavy with guilt. "Mates!" My wolf called, but in a whimper. Her voice had lost the usual excitement with which she usually calls them. Mira's wide eyes were fixed on me, and I could read concern all over it. I moved about it in the room, with no destination in mind. From the dresser, I moved to the laundry basket, and then to the bed. My whole body trembled as I paced about."Luna," Mira called after a few seconds. Her voice was gentle, and almost provided me with just enough comfort but it didn't. Both Dylan and Declan were badly injured, and have sent for me.What am I doing standing here, or even pacing about?"Take these off," I commanded Mira, waving at the cloak I was wearing which was adorned with gold, and the collections of gold around my neck. Mira's h
[Dylan]The tripartite ceremony was a huge success even though our father had failed to show up like I half expected. What made the event more colourful was the Lunar goddess' approval which usually comes in the form of a thunderbolt. The sound had delayed in coming, that for a slight second, I thought it wouldn't sound, or that the Lunar goddess had changed her mind about Avira being our mate. But it sounded after a few seconds, and it was louder than it was supposed to, which at the moment, could only mean that Avira is the one true Luna of TwinMoon pack.I made a mental note to confront my father about his absence, but I wasn't sure when would be convenient for both of us. After the wedding ceremony which was right now would be time to consummate our marriage. I had no idea how much time that would take.My eyes darted around the room which in a few hours would cease to be mine until they settled for the full-length mirror in the room
[Avira]I shook my head quickly, while my gaze was fixed on the Beta. I didn't bother with my voice as I was sure it would quiver. The accusation which the Beta had against me was not one to be taken lightly, and yet I could not use my voice, or defend myself with my words.Apart from quivering in
[Avira]I straightened up as slowly as I could, trying hard not to give my fear away, and thanking my stars that I had already kept the healing portion back to where I had taken it from before the Beta came in."I was coming to prepare the bed for the night," I lied. My voice had come out smoothly
[Dylan]Somehow, I was able to locate the Omega's quarters after hours of searching. I was too ashamed to ask, and the few pack members I didn't feel so ashamed with looked angry. I was pretty sure I wouldn't get a response from them if I were to ask them any question so I didn't ask.I was tempted
[Avira]I rolled quickly to the far end of my bed which was farthest from the door, and laid there. Well, I laid on the bed while my head was up, waiting for the slightest form of danger so as to jump out of the bed.The Beta, now a wolf pushed heavily at the door some more, and each time he did, I
