It felt incredibly real all of a sudden as a cold drop of water hit my leg. I shifted uncomfortably, feeling more drops splash onto my skin—rain. Then another guy's voice reached out to me.“Brielle!”It was only then I realized I wasn’t in the hunters' den anymore. The cold breeze slammed my damp hair straight across my face, the chill seeping into my skin. Suddenly, a pair of arms grabbed me from behind. I instinctively tried to fight back and defend myself, but I was too weak. The arms pulled me tight into a hard embrace before the guy yelled, “Uncle, I found her!”Tears rolled down my cheeks as Jason lifted me completely off the ground. His brothers instantly surrounded us, and then Professor Lucian hurried through the trees toward us. He had a deeply worried look on his face, his hands already stretched out toward Jason.“Uncle, I can carry
Brielle’s POVThe first thing that hit my nose was a pungent smell, one that caused me to struggle to look up. By the time I tried to look at what was happening around me, a slap hit my face jolting my cheek to the left. I felt heat rose to my cheeks, burning so intense as I spat out almost immediately as I felt my bones shift but soon restructured itself. I know this was Virelle my wolf, I can feel her but she seem weak, same as me. “Fuck!” I screamed feeling a hand dip in the bullet which was fired at me earlier. “Please!” I screamed, years rolling off my cheek. The most painful thing right now is, I was hung on something that seem high, something I can't seem to know, but I can sense there is wolfsbane around.I had always stayed away from wolfsbane even when Camiella makes it for me. She actually does it outside, and is very careful that she doesn’t bring the flowers home in large quantity, just for my safety.Right now with the silver bullet in me, I feel so weak, and tired.

Brielle’s POVThe first thing I smelled was this horrible, sharp stink that completely messed with my head. I tried to lift my face to figure out where it was coming from, but before I could even open my eyes properly, a brutal slap slammed into my jaw. The force of it jerked my whole head to the left.My cheek started burning like crazy. I coughed and spat a mouthful of blood onto the floor, feeling the bones in my face begin to crack and shift as my wolf tried to fix the damage. But the healing stopped halfway, leaving everything feeling completely wrong and broken. I knew it was Virelle, my wolf. I could feel her inside my mind, but she was totally wiped out, just as weak and exhausted as I was.“Fuck!” I screamed, sobbing out loud as someone deliberately shoved their finger right into the bullet hole in my shoulder. “Please! Just stop!” I screamed again, tears spilling out from under the tight cloth over my eyes and running down my face. The absolute worst part about this was that
Lucian's POV“Are you seriously not going to claim her?” Drake asked. He took a long sip of champagne, pulling the two girls beside him closer. They were practically crawling all over him, taking turns kissing his lips.“No, man.”“It’s been what? A hundred years? One hundred and twenty? And you still can't stop thinking about her?” Drake’s tone was purely annoying, and it left me feeling entirely agitated.“Come on, Drake. It’s not about Isobel.”“Then what is it about?”“She’s too young.”“Is that the lie you tell yourself to feel better? Huh?”“It’s not a lie. It’s the truth. How the fuck do you expect me to date a student?”“The truth? Since when do you care about the truth?” Drake joked. He spanked one of the girls, who licked her lips seductively and started shaking her ass right in front of me. I didn't even blink. My head was completely fuzzy. My mind had been a total mess ever since I left Brielle in the classroom—and especially after I rejected her in my office earlier. I jus
Brielle’s POVHis eyes locked onto mine, and for a second, I felt my spirit literally leave my body. I blinked like crazy, my hands instinctively clutching his shirt tighter. His grip was the only thing lifting me off the ground before I could land hard on my butt.“Woah!” the whole class shouted.A wave of intense embarrassment hit me. Hearing the students whisper and murmur like that made me cringe inside. Goosebumps broke out across my skin, and my hands trembled as I scrambled to get off him. I cleared my throat, watching Jace glare at the crowd, warning them to put their phones away.“What? Are you dating the charity case now?” one student asked loudly, making me step back a bit.My eyes drifted toward the doorway, and everything in me wanted to bolt out of the room, but Jace's hand caught my wrist before I could move.“So what if I am?” Jace smiled, tightening his grip on my hand. He left me with no choice but to stay put.My heart hammered against my chest. I swallowed hard, tea
Brielle’s POVHe stared at me, his teeth going back to their normal form, not even minding that Jackson was still standing right in front of us. And I couldn’t believe he would shout at his cousin just because of me. Not only was Jackson shocked, but I was too.“Uncle, what are you doing here?” Jac

Brielle’s POVThe last thing I could remember was someone who looked like my professor stepping in to help me. Now, as I gazed at the ceiling, my head felt heavy and leaden. I tried to shift, but the room spun.“Fuck,” I whimpered, pressing a palm to my forehead. I tried to piece together the frag
Brielle’s POV“Uncle?”Jackson’s voice drifted from the doorway behind me. I could hear him adjusting the towel at his waist, but I couldn’t pull my gaze away from Lucian. My lips trembled as I fumbled for words that refused to come. Overwhelmed by a wave of pure, cold fear, I didn't wait for an ex
