Chapter Twenty-Six

Rush

We’ve been searching for Lotty for days now and still nothing. No one saw anything, no one knows anything. We have a fucking invisible enemy.

“How is she?” Landon asks for the hundredth time; I glare at him.

“How do you think she is?” seeing Maze on the floor of our daughter’s room screaming and wailing, never in my life do I ever want to hear those screams again. It took six sedative shots to get her to quieten down and when she came to, she blamed herself. Blaze didn’t help by saying she would have been safer back in his home pack. We all know that’s a lie. But Maze, she took it to heart and hasn’t spoken a word in four fucking days.

“If I knew, I wouldn’t be asking you.” Landon sounds equally pissed. He and Blaze fought until several guards pulled them apart.

Mazy always talked highly of Blaze, but I’m wondering if he ever had her best interests at heart. He took my side, allowing me to see our daughter behind her back, when he should have taken hers and now, he blames her
