Charlotte groaned as she shifted slightly on her bed. She touched her forehead and exclaimed before groaning again.
"You're awake." A mild voice from a distance interrupted her wake-up moment and she turned her head to the balcony. Kyle was wearing an armless shirt with his two hands inside his pockets. His hair was being blown by the cool night breeze and he seemed to be staring somewhere else.Kyle then turned towards her and stared at her before going over to the glass of water that he brought along with him that evening. He lifted the glass and brought it to her. Charlotte lifted her upper body and leaned against the bedframe before collecting the water with shaky hands. She drank it all and returned the cup to him.He didn't put it back in its place, instead, he placed it down beside him and interlocked his fingers. Charlotte's eyes didn't leave this demigod for one second as she calmly waited for his words that were like a ticking time bomb. "Why didn't you tell me?"Here it was. "I'm sorry." She replied softly. "You're sorry? Really? You and Drake made me look like a fool! A total fool and you..."Kyle couldn't continue his words anymore and just gripped his hair instead - not too hard but just to let out his frustration. He didn't know what to say to her as he wasn't sure of his exact reaction but all he knew was that he was not happy to have found out this news later on at the point of emergency. He had so many things to do but he lacked the power and boldness to even say a word so he could only swallow them back bitterly and angrily.Charlotte lifted the blanket and wanted to touch his exposed shoulder but he shifted slightly with a frown. "Don't touch me." He warned and she paused. With a sad face, Charlotte retreated and covered herself with the blanket again. "Sorry." ---- "How long was I gone?" Charlotte asked as Drake checked her temperature and her eyes too. The man clicked his tongue and exhaled. "Two months." He answered. "Hmm."She had been given the space to have a thorough brushing of teeth and bath as well - she also used the prescribed medication from Drake instantly to help give her the required energy. She looked at Drake for more explanation because Kyle had walked out on her and it didn't seem like he was coming back any sooner. "What happened? Where is Jane? What about the birthday party and everything?" She asked.Drake sighed again and forced a smile, "It was on the night of the birthday party that things went messier than expected. Jane went through the tunnel or portal - anyone you would prefer to call that same night and Allen went to look after her when you were brought here to the mansion." "So everybody knows that I am a fairy now?" "Unfortunately yet fortunately yes." He answered. Then Charlotte became deeply worried. "What about Jane? How is she going to survive there? She has been there before and I am sure it is no warm and exciting place to be." She said concernedly. "That's a mild way of describing it though," Drake said as he went to close the window. "You say what now?" "You don't have to worry about Jane, she will be fine."Charlotte rolled her eyes defensively and pointed at herself, "I am her best friend so what do you mean by that?"Drake dipped his hands into his coat's pockets and counted his steps until he was just a few inches away from the bed. "I think it will be more advisable that you get worried about yourself, not Jane. I am sure that no harm will come to her so she is in safe hands even though she might be passing through the seven seas and the seven fire. "Charlotte was stunned, "What?"However, Drake continued, "You should know that you have spent a long time being far away from Kyle after discovering that you are mates. Unlike Vampires and werewolves which can take several years to consummate, Fairies aren't like that and you could lose your powers if care isn't taken so I guess you have a lot of work to do than expected." He advised.Charlotte closed her eyes briefly and reopened them, "You mentioned that I am Kyle's cure to his sickness, how?"Drake stared at her for a minute, his mouth parted slightly before his eyes ran her whole body through while she was still sitting. This made Charlotte frown deeply and wanted to retaliate. "Drop it, you're not my type." He shot and Charlotte scoffed at his attitude. He carried his bag and dusted it as if there were any dirt on it. "Well, you should only focus now on creating a wonderful relationship with Kyle then mating will become easier however time waits for no one, do you understand?"Without waiting for her response, he walked out of the room. Charlotte shook her head and brought herself a bit lower so she could lay flat on her bed with her head on her pillow. She stared at the ceiling with only the ticking of the clock sounding. How was she going to do this? How would she be able to? Kyle was not the nicest man around nor was he easy to talk to. Before she could even become his assistant (remember the incident folks。◕‿◕。)It took her a whole lot of planning. And now she needed to make him slowly accept the fact that he had a mate who happened to be her - a weak fairy. "A lot of things are going wrong and at this point, I think secrets are going to be exposed a lot more than we expected." She mumbled and closed her eyes. She needed to get her health back to normal. ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶×¶×Jane was awakened by the rustling sounds of dry leaves multiple times. Her heart was fast beating and by the time she opened her eyes, she saw that she was in a whole new environment again - inside the forest this time around. He uncurled herself and sat up shivering. It was night time and the moon which was supposed to have its normal color like she was used to was suddenly red instead, making the vicinity scary for her to look at.The rustling sounds were made again and she jerked with a light gasps. She looked around times without number to figure out where the sound was actually coming from. She couldn't see anyone in sight. She was breathing through two parts - her mouth and her nostrils. That was now her new requirement for living. She heard squeaky noises too and bit her lips. Since this was a forest, there could be snakes or lions or pythons - they could swallow her whole. Oh no, she would be eaten alive. This was terrible.Sitting at a spot wouldn't help her so she summoned the courage to stand up with shaky legs. She decided to at least trace where the sound could be coming from and having been able to locate this place, she separated the leaves blocking the view and what she saw scared her to death.Five creatures were surrounding a body - a female body and they seemed to be devouring her dead body. Jane covered her mouth to prevent herself from screaming because of the horrifying view that had welcomed her eyes. She quickly took many steps backward and started running for her life with no direction in mind. However, she didn't seem to be lucky this time as these creatures flew after her. They already caught a whiff of her presence and sighted her when she was running. They started squeaking happily because they found a fresh meal for the red moon night.Jane didn't expect them to fly - they were freaking flying after her! She was dead. Since they knew about her presence, wouldn't it be just safe for her to just scream for help perhaps?Just then her arms were grabbed and her legs were lifted off the ground. She screamed at the top of her voice. "Help me!!!!!"But these unidentifiable creatures seemed to be having fun with their new game. Jane's eyes were tightly shut as she kept on screaming but soon silenced after the creature carrying her pierced her from the back with its long sharp finger. The pain stung badly and she lost so much blood instantly before going unconscious........I hope you're enjoying this book, guys. My exams are fast approaching and this is my first time writing an exam in a Federal university seeing as I am a "fresher" So wish me luck. Once we start, I might not update regularly but I won't keep you waiting. Thank you for reading. Please leave a comment. Two heavily armed guard men were stationed at the entrance of this huge black gate. There were lights all around that were neither fueled by generators nor electricity but by something else that was brighter than what one could ever imagine. One of the men noticed an image - somebody was walking towards them in slow and steady steps and he became alert. So was his companion after he noticed it too. Immediately a few armed men jumped out of nowhere and arranged themselves to prevent the person whom they perceived as strangers from entering. One of the earlier two men then approached the stranger. "Stop."The stranger did accordingly to their commands. He was wearing a black linen that covered his face so his image was not properly seen. The guard was still cautious get brave. "Remove your cover." He ordered but the stranger did not even move an inch. The guard lifted the cover off his face and was stunned to see who it was when the eyes greeted him in the dark. "Your...y
"Is she going to wake up any time soon?" "How am I supposed to know? She doesn't look like us nor does she smell like us - she smells foreign or should I say distance?" When Jane couldn't bear these voices in her head anymore, she shook her head and opened her eyes forcefully. When she suddenly saw two people bent over her, she screamed but got muffled quickly by the pain that followed that cry. Just close to her heart was a bandage then she remembered what had happened. She was carried away by these creatures to somewhere far and unexplainable - somewhere like the top of a mount and placed there. She was so weak and had to calculate with her head how long they had flown. Their appearances scared her. What type of beasts were these? Where did they come from? They didn't even look the closest to humans to all. They looked like all these creatures created by movie makers in thriller action movies - only if they knew that these creatures they used CGI to create were real. As t
The news about Allen's arrival had spread around the whole arena. No one had expected his arrival as it had been decades since he left. Rumors started going on regarding his arrival. Maybe the King was going to choose his next heir. Regardless of these rumors, none of them could stand solidly. Allen brushed his hair and stared at himself in the mirror helplessly before staring at the wall. Calculating his days here in comparison to the human world, it was already two months since his departure. Would the boys be able to handle the pressure? Because on a normal circumference, the journey through the portal wasn't supposed to take more than a few days but because they had a stranger go through it, it changed the system. His attention was called for when someone knocked on his door vigorously. He needed no one to tell him who it was. When the person didn't seem to relent, he walked towards the door and pulled it open, revealing Hezekiah with a mischievous smile. "Hello there brother.
Jane sighed as she picked a stone and threw it across the river that was in front of her. She had been here for a while, there was no clock, no smartphone, no technology, and somehow the night took longer to arrive. She sat down on a small rock and rested her head on her palm as she went deep in thought. Emily had been able to explain to her what her new world was. She remembered the conversation that they both had that night as it was still fresh in her brain. "So you claim to come from another world better than this?" Emily asked surprisingly and Jane looked around before replying affirmatively. "At least, from my experience yes." "And you people use what again?" Emily frowned. "Phoned, gadgets..." "Okay...okay, that's enough. I don't understand what those words mean. I think I will have to trust you on this because you look fragile and certainly you don't know your way around here. And also, you mentioned something about falling into what looked like a portal..."Jane nodde
(In the Mansion.) "Is she going to wake up any minute from now?" Xander asked as his gaze lingered on the beauty's rainbow hair. Drake frowned and hit his arm. "What?" Xander squeezed his face. "Stop staring at her like that." "Well, she is mysterious. What else did you expect me to do?" Xander fumed and angrily went to sit with his brother who was less concerned about the banter. They had been waiting for about four hours but the lady refused to wake up. Drake had assured them that she wasn't in any way faking it and that the power must have been too much than he thought. A few minutes later, Sophia shook her head slowly from side to side. This alerted them. They waited for her to open her eyes which finally did but she was totally displeased and disappointed at herself. Her hands were tied behind a chair, not just any rope but a magic one which she wouldn't be able to break from without alerting them. Her glares could have literally burnt down a building if it was a fire. Dra
Jane was screaming alongside the siblings. She wasn't even given the chance to see what was supposedly chasing them but as long as they were running this fast, it only meant they were in grave danger. Pan was holding tight to her hand. "We can transform, guys!" Peter screamed at the top of his lungs. "But she can't," Emily responded and flew over a broken branch. "Yeah, I completely forgot about that." Emily was the one leading them and she was quite fast but Peter wanted to stay as close to his brother because his strength was minimized. After all, he was making Jane run at the same pace as them but the weakness was that it would only reduce the pace. They suddenly came to a halt when two men jumped in front of them with spears in their hands. They became terrified and quickly looked behind him but what was pursuing them was no longer there. So they could calm their breathing. Emily bit her lips, she looked frightened. "Er..." "Take them."More men came out and approached th
"What should we do with them?" One of the men asked after pushing the captives to the front. The man who seemed to be their leader groaned and rubbed his cheeks. He eyed Jane maliciously - she looked totally different and it was now he was noticing her. "Is she a part of you guys too?" He asked Emily. The latter swallowed and blinked with fear. They had just been caught by the palace's powerful vampire guards and another mistake whatsoever could get them killed. "She is a part of us." She answered meekly. "What can you transform into?" He asked Jane. "Huh?" She quickly looked at the siblings for help. She knew nothing about transformation. "She lost her powers a few decades ago. You can ask her this after she has recovered. Don't you see that she looks pale and totally different from what we look like? She is sick and if care isn't taken, she might die. That is why we are trying our best to keep her fragility because we love her." Pan answered this time and Jane looked at him
Ben was about to leave for the company when a black Mercedes Benz drove into the compound. He recognized who it was at first glance and immediately rushed back into the mansion to seek help. "Grandmother is here. Grandmother is here." He shouted and the men made their way downstairs quickly. Drake who was upstairs with Sophia sighed and looked at her. "I will be back." He reinforced the powers safeguarding the room and exited. He was not able to get her to say anything for a while and it was infuriating. Old Madam Ryan and Paul entered the mansion and saw the men already standing close to one another as if they had been visioned her arrival beforehand. She looked at the whole mansion carefully, probably expecting Allen and his wife to come out. She found her way to the couch and sat down. Paul was holding her expensive bag for her while standing behind her. "Have your seat." He said to them. "Grandmother, your arrival this morning is somehow strange. I hope all is well." Ben as
