Chapter 19

With the moonlight through the open balcony, Charles stares at Stella’s face, a sweet smile plastered on his own. He wasn’t expecting to be home this late. It’s a tiring day but to see Stella sleeping comfortably takes all his stress away.

He wanted to get home early and talk about how each of their days went. But his almost a month of absence kept him at his desk. There were just too many this time. Tomorrow is another hectic day.

After a while, Charles moved away and walk to the bathroom. He took a quick shower. Just as he got out with only a towel wrapped around his hips, he saw Stella sit up on the bed, rubbing her eyes. Then she looks at him with squinted eyes.

“Did I woke you up?” Charles asked softly.

“Am I dreaming?” she questions back, scratching her neck, looking around with sleepy eyes. Her reaction made him chuckle.
