CHAPTER 4: Message from the Unknown

Philip looked at his wife. He smiled briefly, thinking and hoping one day, the night would come and they would be a happy again like before.

"Sorry Daniela, I'm not the perfect husband for you." He thought.

Almost a minute passed, Daniela closed her eyes happily while sleeping behind the baby. Philip heard the deep breath of his wife which made him think that Daniela had fallen into a deep sleep.

A moment passed and Daniela moved her body, facing the ceiling. After a while, the blanket was removed on her shoulder as she took a fetal position. Philip stretched his arms to reach the other side of the bed and pulled the blanket back to his wife.

Sigh.

He took a deep breath after doing that. He moved his upper body, his attention was caught by the sleeping child. He stared at the baby and he kissed her forehead.

"I don't know if tomorrow you will be with us, but as long as you make us feel happy tonight, I will love you and I will do my best to look for your parents." He muttered sweetly.

However, even if he spoke those kinds of words, he didn't want to make that thing happen if it was the only way to see his wife happy. He moved his body closer to the baby and he started to close his eyes to get ready for tomorrow.

However, while the two couples were resting beside the baby, a mysterious person suddenly appeared in the yard. Bathing in the heavy rain and the sudden lights, the mysterious person looked directly at the closed window of Montreal's house.

After a few moments, it turned around and before another strike of lightning came, it was gone. There was no trace of footprints left in the yard after the man left the place. Mysteriously, the man seemed like a bubble that quickly faded into the wind.

In the middle of the night, while the storm was still making a horrifying night, Philip suddenly felt something strange in himself. He opened his eyes and he was shocked as he saw himself outside their home.

"Why am I here?" He muttered as he felt the grass on the yard. He looked around and he noticed that the rain had stopped pouring.

"Why is the ground not wet? Do I'm dreaming?" He asked again, wondering. He stamped his feet to ensure that everything was real.

"You are not dreaming." The voice of a man was suddenly heard in the darkness. The voice seemed like coming from the deepest ground and now entering his soul. Philip slowly turned around to find out who was the one behind him.

He widened his eyes but he could not see anyone around.Just the deep and husky voice was there.

"Who are you?" He uttered in the emptiness because only the darkness of the surroundings was there.

"I am no one." The man replied. As he added, the wind was blowing from somewhere and it whispered in Philip's ear.

"I'm here to send you information about the baby you found near your cave."

Philip shrugged his eyebrows as he heard the words that the mysterious voice told him.

"C-cave? B-baby? A-and why can't I see you but I can hear you!?" He asked, wondering.

"As I told you, I'm no one. But I can enter into your subconscious to talk to you. Listen to me Philip. The baby that you found is not just a normal baby that gives birth to a mortal. She is destined for something in the future." The mysterious voice replied that made Philip feel something strange about the words of the man.

"What do you mean?" He asked again, which seemed like he wanted to know the things behind those words. But before the man replied, he felt his body become light. He felt he was floating in the air and when he looked below, he could not see the grass, instead he saw a dark sea of clouds.

"Where am I!?" He shouted, having a trace of fear on his face. But even though he saw that sea of clouds below him, he still could not see the man. Only the cold breeze and the darkness were felt around him.

"Don't be afraid of what you see, because it is just a little part of your life as a poster father of the destined one. However, you need to be brave and embrace the fact that I will tell you later." The mysterious voice said again.

"Please tell me now!" Philip shouted, because he didn't want to stay in that nightmare.

"Hihihi. That is the one that I have been looking for. You are so brave and I know you are fit to be a father. Unfortunately, the baby you have is a nightmare for you and your beloved wife if you accept her. She can be a problem for your family and a horror for someone in this world. But she is a gifted child that every parent wanted, a child that everyone wishes to have. Because in every bad story, there is another side of it that makes you feel better. Then, before I let you escape from my hands, I will ask you something..."

Before the man continued speaking, he whispered in the ear of Philip and made him have goosebumps that quickly scattered around his body. He felt the chilling of his nerves as he heard the cold whisper of the mysterious man.

"Do you accept the baby as your child even for a short period of time?"

At that moment, Philip did not know how to answer that kind of question. He was empty-minded about the things that were happening around him at that moment. But since he thought that everything was just a dream, he stammered as he replied.

"I...I know it was just a dream, a bad...bad dream and I promised to the baby that I would look for her parents no matter what. I know everything I feel at this moment is just a dream," he murmured.

Suddenly, the question of the mysterious voice echoed in his ears again and triggered him to say...

"Yes! I will!" He replied quickly and before another second had passed, he suddenly heard a familiar voice near him...

"Ohhh...Baby baby baby...My cute little baby...Are you hungry my baby?"

The Daniela's song made Philip open his eyes. His heart beat so fast as he looked around and he noticed that it was six in the morning. Beads of sweats were flowing down his forehead. He saw his wife standing near the window carrying the baby. He rubbed his eyes.

He looked around and he noticed that the rain had stopped pouring. The breeze was still cold but the strike of the morning sunlight made him get up in his bed.

Suddenly he remembered his dream.

"Sigh. Thanks, it was just a bad dream.", he muttered, and he stepped his feet on the floor to go downstairs.

When he got up, he stopped for a while and stared at his wife. He saw his wife on the left side of the room. Singing a song to entertain the baby. He did not know that the trace of happiness had been drawn on his lips at that moment to see his wife happy again.

"Daniela. Do you want coffee?" He asked after a moment of looking at his wife. Daniela averted her gaze at the baby and she looked happily at Philip. Wearing a smile, she nodded her head.

Philip got the things that Daniela wanted to convey and he immediately went downstairs to make a hot coffee.
