CHAPTER Twenty-Five
24TH January, 2009.
NEW YORK CITY, USA.Steve Cummins woke up at five in the morning, he had quite a lot of things to do that morning. First he and his boss would have breakfast together in the little Italian restaurant in Queens, like they always do the morning after a killing.
He got out of bed, and did a few stretches, before going to the bathroom to have his bath. He sat under the tub for quite a long while, allowing the hot water to cascade down his body, while he thought about the operation that took place thousands of miles away the night before, and how they would recover the paintings and sell them at the artfair in Rome. He was sure that the operation had been a success, because Rodriguez had never failed to carry out any assignments they’d given to him, hence his decision to transfer the remaining fifteen million dollars immediately after the operation. He thought of the fair in Rome,LAGOS, NIGERIA.Danny woke up at some minutes past eleven, he had woken up long enough to switch off the alarm, on two occasions this morning.He got out of bed, and began to do a light workout. He had been rolling from side to side on his bed, almost throughout the night the thoughts of nailing Wolfgang was what filled his mind.He had a quick shower and put on his sports gear, he locked his apartment front door and went to the gym. Chapter Four12th, January, 2009.London, England.John Summers woke up at a few minutes past six am, he yawned and rolled over to the other side of his bed and sat up. He said a quick prayer and got up to go take his shower, dress up and get ready for checkout which was at 8am he would be travelling to Lagos, immediately after checkout.He would be flying to Lagos on a commercial flight, the company’s jet had developed a mechanical fault, and it would take a week for it to get fixed.He showered, combed his thick black hair and for the upteenth time wished his kinky hair would adhere to the hair treatments he had been using on it. He shaved his beard and chose a black designer suit from his suitcase for the trip. CHAPTER FIVE13th January, 2009.Lagos, Nigeria.John Summers woke up at a few minutes past 6am. After saying a quick prayer, he got out of bed, and went to the bathroom to have his bath. Twenty minutes after, he was done dressing, he left the room, and went downstairs for breakfast.As he stepped into the elevators, he reminisced about the events of the previous evening. He had taken a stroll around the hotel premises, and down the street where the hotel was situated, and he enjoyed what he saw. Chapter Seven15th JANUARY 2009.LAGOS, Nigeria.Lekan Johnson got up from his bed at 5 am, he hardly slept throughout the night.He had woken up at some minutes past one, he had a nightmare and wasn’t able to sleep again. He had dreamt that a man dressed in all black whose body was looking burnt all over, was chasing him. He kept running away from the man, and did not see the huge pit in front of him. He fell into the pit, and kept falling, as the pit did not seem to have an end.When he woke up, he prayed with his rosary, he had recited the apostles creed and every other prayer he could think of.He was praying when he slept off again, and had the same dream, this time it was a horse-like bird with long vampire teeth, that was chasing him, he had fallen into the same pit. He had the same dream, all through the night, never sleeping for more than fifteen minutes, before waking up again.&nb
