CHAPTER Twenty-Five

Steve Cummins woke up at five in the morning, he had quite a lot of things to do that morning. First he and his boss would have breakfast together in the little Italian restaurant in Queens, like they always do the morning after a killing. 

He got out of bed, and did a few stretches, before going to the bathroom to have his bath. 

He sat under the tub for quite a long while, allowing the hot water to cascade down his body, while he thought about the operation that took place thousands of miles away the night before, and how they would recover the paintings and sell them at the artfair in Rome. 

He was sure that the operation had been a success, because Rodriguez had never failed to carry out any assignments they’d given to him, hence his decision to transfer the remaining fifteen million dollars immediately after the operation.
