TYLER'S POV
As I got back home, the atmosphere was unusual, but I wasn't so bothered. I saw Liam coming out from my room, he looked very suspicious.
"Where is my wife?" I asked Liam.
"She is inside." He answered, avoiding our gaze to meet. I left him and rushed inside.
Georgia was laying on the bed, she didn't even stand up to come greet me, but I didn't care. Maybe she is still angry with me.
"Are you okay?" I asked her as I touched her forehead. She doesn't have a fever, the room temperature was quite cool, but I can't tell why she was sweating seriously.
"I thought you were not going to come back." She finally said something to me with a smile on her face.
"I told you I was coming. Do you think I would lie to you? I can't do that to the most important person in my life." I said, and it seemed like I made the wrong statement that fuelled her anger.
"Your most important person indeed!" She smirked and sat at the edge of the bed. Positioning herself very well for an argument, because that was all I could see from her body movement.
"How can I be your most important person when your invisible kids are your top priority? You better stop deceiving yourself because you can't deceive me. If you have found someone better, let me know, and I would leave this relationship for good." She lamented.
I stood up from my end and walked up to her with a smile on my face just to please her.
"You are misunderstanding me. These are my kids and I can't abandon them. Because if I do, the moon goddess won't be happy with me. You are very important to me that------"
"I don't want to hear anything. You have already made your choice, I hope you won't be mad at me when you see my own choice too." She said as she stood up and left the room.
"What does she mean by that? Is she planning to cheat on me?" I silently asked myself.
I guess she would be fine, I have to get back to the business at hand. I invited Liam into my sacred place where I rest and think about things whenever I am bothered, especially war.
"Things are not going the way I expected it, things are becoming hard and scary, because no one knows where they took the babies to." I said to Liam, who stood in front of me. His body movement was screaming fear, but why would he be afraid?
"Are you okay?" I questioned as I stood up from my seat.
"Yeah! Yeah! I am okay. Just a bit worried about the letter we received earlier." Liam reviewed.
I turned to him in shock. "A letter? From whom? Hope Georgia hasn't seen this?" I questioned and he waved his head.
"Give me a yes or no answer. I didn't ask you to become a lizard." I angrily commanded him to speak.
"I haven't shown her the letter. Here it is." He stretched out his hand to hand it over to me.
"Read it out." I commanded with curiosity.
"It's my turn to pay you back abundantly. I will definitely destroy the future of your pack as they are in my hands. And expect more from me." Liam stopped, I was expecting him to continue until he said, "that's all."
*Who is the sender?" I asked in a very low tone, because it was about to go down again.
"Unknown sender, sir."
At that point, I was boiling with anger, but something told me to return to Selena before something happens to her.
"Liam, I am going back to Selena and you will have to stay here and protect my wife. Don't let her know that I went out." I instructed him and left the chamber. I sneaked out, because I didn't want Georgia to know.
Getting to the hospital, Selena was awake. I was so happy to see her awake, but her eyes were filled with tears and pain.
"Please, you have to stop cryi-----" the door opened with speed and interrupted me.
"I have found the lead to where the babies were taken to."
SELENA'S POVMy face was in another shape, and the visuals were blurry because of the heavy tears in my eyes. All our efforts met a dead end. The reality that my kids weren't with me haunted my soul. Deep down, nothing seemed to be interesting to me, but I had to keep pushing till I got what I was looking for."Yes! I will be going with some extra men to find a seer who will lead us. It's getting late, and we might end up losing what we so much cherish." Tyler tried to encourage me as he squeezed me in his embrace. I sobbed uncontrollably till the door slowly cracked open. I didn't pay attention to it at first, but when I observed Tyler's silence, I had to raise my head to see who it was."Pete!!" I called him, but he ignored me and didn't bother to answer as he went to sit down. He wasn't looking good; something must have happened to him. I went to help him clean up, but he stopped me."I will be fine." Pete said that and dropped my hand. I felt so bad and pitied him, even though I k
PETE'S POVOn my arrival at the strange building, there was no sign of any living thing, but I didn't care because my grandma was more important to me than the observation. With confidence, ready to take down the bastard, I walked into the building."Stop right there!" A voice reverberated from behind. I turned in confusion because I saw nobody when I passed, though it was dark. All of a sudden, there was a light spark, but before then, I had already been apprehended and tied down after struggling to stand my ground."What do you guys and my family want?" I asked in a very strong and active voice. None of them said a word to me. All night, I thought about who might have sent them, what the person wanted, and if my sister was safe at home.In the process of trying to figure out the bad egg that would take an old woman hostage, my mind went to Selena. "Could it be Selena? Is she trying to get back at me with this? I won't leave her alive; she will suffer, cry, and die if I find out that
PETE'S POVI felt so embarrassed and emotional in the hospital. The emotional trauma she caused me still had the nerve to appear, telling me about her kids. What is my take on that when their father is right beside her? "Is she emotionally trying to blackmail me? After using me? After making me see the spirits and the living beings, she must be a living witch. A thorn on my flesh, but I must set it ablaze." I lamented all alone beside my haven as I managed to sneak out from the fake emotions of Selena. As I openly talked to myself, I observed a presence but didn't talk before she broke the silence. "I can see your reasons; well, they are valid, but not when it concerns me. Pete, I love you." She confessed and sat beside me.I clenched my fist and wished it was someone to whom I could give a refined blow and whose hair and brain would go under reformation. "Do you know this is turning into stalking?" I questioned her as I shifted away from her."No, it's not. It's called love. Get out
SELENA'S POVLiving in a world so lonely and filled with pain, I couldn't focus on anything other than to think about the life I wanted for my kids, whom my eyes hadn't seen for a long time. I only see them crying in my dreams, and I wish I had superpowers.I picked up my phone and dialed Pete's number; it wasn't reachable, and I stood up to get ready so that I could see him and talk things out with him. After all, it wasn't my fault; he left me all alone in another man's domain. Something inside me kept telling me Tyler wouldn't be able to archive everything alone; he needed to get Pete on board to make things work out. I decided to visit him.As I stepped outside, I was stopped by Tyler's men. "You can't go out. That's the instruction given to us." He stipulated, squeezing his face like a soldier on the warfront."I have something very important to attend to. Why would Tyler give you such an order? To restrict me from going out? That can't be possible. If you wish to keep eyes on me
PETE'S POV"What about the patient?" I asked the nurse as I was about to leave work."She is better now, but she asked everyone to leave the ward.""And you did that?" I asked in a hasty manner and ran to check on her.Getting to the ward, my heart melted. Her sitting position tells it all—the loneliness and pain. My brain went back to the good times Selena and I had together.I thought of what to tell her, but I was still living in grievance. The wound in my heart is still fresh and might not heal anytime soon. I knew she didn't need only medication; psychological support might go a long way in the condition I saw in her.I moved, and as I got to where she was and sat on the bed, she gave me a deadly look. I was shocked because that wasn't ordinary. It looks like a bloody witch who has been cast out of their world."You know, sometimes fate doesn't work in favor of the good ones. Sometimes it is betrayal, sometimes it is heartbreak, and sometimes it is rejection and loneliness." I pa
SELENA'S POV"How can this mission be successful without him? That can never be possible, you know that." I aggressively said to Tyler that he tried to calm me down, but I wasn't having it."You have to calm down while we figure it out," Tyler said. I gave him a bombastic side-eye."Don't tell me to calm down. How do you expect me to calm down when my hope is gone? I warned you about this; the first time it happened, we promised that it was never going to happen again. Now we are at it again, and this time, it resulted in something else. I couldn't sleep all night. You want me to keep calm? When are my children nowhere to be found? The only person who knows a little is gone. I know you don't want these kids because of fatherly love; rather, you want them because of your fortune. I need you out of my life." My voice was very loud, but at a point I started shaking.Tyler forcefully held my hand, and our lips jammed. We kissed for a few seconds; I remembered and pushed him away."You hav
