Chapter sixteen

Fiona’s POV

I watched the man settle down in the chair before me as we faced each other. He was about to say something bad, I could tell from the way he shifted his eyes from me to his side.

As an alpha he was to stay true to his word. He had promised to be with me. Well, not promised me with words but we had been having sex for a long time now, and steamy ones at that.

How could he treat me like this? After all the love I had given him, this was how he would treat me.

“So I was thinking we would take a break from each other,” he said just as I frowned. Why was he saying that?

“Why? What did I do?”

I started to think that Kayla had told him something and instantly wished to kill her. She was my nemesis now. She was trying to destroy the relationship I was trying so hard to keep alive. Who did she think she was?

“Look, it’s not that you did anything, I just want some time alone to think about my actions and…”

His voice trailed off which had me thinking this was clearly not my fault. He
