Laura's POV.

“You look like you're scared of BDSM?” Lucas said.

“Obviously I'm supposed to be scared of it because I have never done it before. Don't you think we should try something else instead, like love making but we should make it intense.” I suggested.

Lucas just kept smiling at me. To me, it seemed as though he could already see how scared I was and he was literally trying to make fun of the whole situation.

“Just calm your nerves down, Laura. I promise you it's not going to hurt okay.

Lucas's POV.I stared at Zara, my chest rising and falling asleep her words kept on echoing in my ears. For a moment, I wanted to deny it again. That I wasn't in love with Laura but I just couldn't lie so brutally to myself. I was done doing any of that.In order to melt down the situation at hand, I began to laugh while shaking my head.“You are not going to understand anything, Zara.”“Then make me understand, dad.” she pressured as I walked past her, grabbing the bottle of whiskey as I poured it into the empty glass on the table.“You want to understand? Then, it is fine by me, I'll explain everything to you.” I said, taking a sip of the whiskey. Then, I set the glass down, slamming it harder than necessary.“She betrayed me, Zara. I saw the photos,” I saw her handing the pen drive to that man and I heard her voice in that video. And yet, despite everything she has done to me. I still can't hate her.”Admitting my feelings made me feel like something was ripping open inside of me.

Lucas's POV.“Think I just saw Laura.” I said, the words coming out of my mouth before I even realized I had said them. “Sir. You didn't see her.” one of my body guards said as we all stood in the middle ground of the airport. “Are you trying to argue with me? I said I saw her. She was standing right there.” I said, pointing in the other direction like I was trying to convince myself that what I saw was really Laura.“Are you really sure of what you're saying sir? You can actually give us the go ahead to go towards that direction.”“I don't know anymore. That is what Laura has reduced me to, I don't even trust myself on my own eyes anymore.” I said, laughing at myself. My bodyguards just stood still without saying a word to me. It was actually good that way, I didn't want to hear their voices because I didn't want you to sound as though they were trying to pity me.“I've been coming to this airport every single fucking day. Do you know how crazy that sounds, if I was to say this to

Laura's POV.I had completely forgotten Brenda was still in my presence. My thoughts had gone far, as my hands began to shake. I just stared at my phone after receiving the plane ticket from Victor Morgan.I didn't even realize he was so serious about this. Not up till two seconds later, I received another message from him.“I believe you have received the plane ticket. If you make me wait for you, then I will be forced to give your unborn babies a happy life by introducing their unaware father to them. Then you won't be safe anymore, because Lucas will hunt you down.”“What the fuck is all of this?’ I cursed out, throwing my phone on the bed like it wasn't the most important thing in my life.I stomped my feet on the floor, my breathing increased. I really didn't have a choice, not when my babies and Lucas are going to be involved now.“Laura. You are scaring me, talk to me. What happened?” Brenda asked.“Brenda please. I need some time to myself, I'll meet you downstairs.”“It's oka

Laura POV“Laura, open this door if you are still awake.”Brenda's voice came softly from the other side, followed by two light knocks that pulled me from the place my mind had sunk into. I stared at the door for a few seconds, my phone still in my hand, Victor's words still scraping through my head, and then I forced my feet to move.By the time I unlocked it, I had already pressed my lips into what I hoped looked like a normal face.Brenda stood there with a tray in her hands, a mug of tea, sliced bread, and a small plate of fruits arranged in the neat way she always did things. Her pink robe brushed lightly against her legs, and her eyes went straight to my face before she even spoke.“I knew you didn't eat enough downstairs,” she said, walking in without waiting for me to reply. “And don't lie to me tonight, because I can smell worry from miles away.”I shut the door and leaned my back against it for a second.“You have a strange talent.”She placed the tray on the table and turne

Laura POV“I'm so sorry, Miss Laura, we would call you back if anything comes up.” The lady across the desk curled a small smile. Her red nails tapped once on the paper before her, and then she pushed my file gently aside, like it had already become part of a pile of forgotten things.I held the strap of my bag tighter and forced my lips to move.“Alright, thank you for your time.”“You're welcome.”Her eyes had already left my face before I even stood up.I swallowed hard, turned, and walked out of the office with my shoulders straight, even though the inside of me felt dragged. The hallway was bright, too bright for the heaviness pressing in my chest. People moved past me, heels clicking, phones ringing, perfumes mixing with the cold air from the air conditioner.By the time I stepped outside the building, the wind met my face at once.London.The city still felt strange, but not in the exact way it did when I first arrived. I had started getting used to it little by little. The r

Victor’s POV “Are you sure this is everything?” I asked, my voice low, as I stared at the brown file that got dropped on my desk.“Yes, sir. The investigator said every detail is in there,” my assistant responded, standing still before me, his fingers locked together, as if one wrong word from him could cost his breath. My eyes stayed on the file for a few seconds, then, I waved him out with just two fingers. He bowed his head a little and hurried away, shutting the door behind him. The office turned quiet again, only the soft hum from the air conditioner and the ticking of the wall clock, that kept dragging my patience.I leaned back on the chair, adjusted the cuff of my shirt, and then pulled the file closer. The table lamp poured light over it, making the papers look more serious than they already were. My fingers tapped once on the desk before I opened it.The first page was the report.I read the lines slowly, my eyes moving from one word to another.Laura arrived in London. She
