Chapter 2

Three years ago, I gave 5 billion dollars from my company Campbell Group to Anthony’s company when it was on the brink of going bankrupt. My investment saved the company and helped it to stand on its feet again.

The only thing I wanted in return was that Anthony Relish will marry me to pay back the favor. Anthony has been my crush for over a decade. I know it is not the right thing to get him this way but I cannot help it. No one gets to choose who they fall in love with.

I had faith that over time, he would learn to love me back. I had faith in my love it was going to overcome all the obstacles. I was sure I was going to win his heart.

But how wrong I was. Anthony dodged all my attempts to get close to him instead he pushed me away and start to loathe my presence. I wish I could turn back time and stopped all of this from happening. My life would have been different now. I would have been happy even. If only I had not forced him to marry me. But only regrets remain now and nothing else.

I felt a cold sensation on my face. My eyes fluttered open and the first person I see is Anthony. I touched the back of my head with my palm, there is no traces of blood.

I hit my head on the staircase but there is no injury. I am no longer in my house. I am in some open place. Where am I? What is this place? Why am I standing on the edge of the river? Am I alive? My clothes are all drenched.

I look around in an attempt to recognize my surroundings. On one side, Chanel is sitting dressed in Anthony's clothes. She is also dripping water. What happened here and why are we both wet?

This scene looks so familiar. I have a faded memory this has happened to me before. Anthony is calling me a selfish vicious monster and all sorts of names saying I prevented Chanel from coming back to the country and blaming me for pushing Chanel into the water.

My heart hurts. All of my thoughts are jumbled up. What is happening I am unable to understand. I paid attention to my surrounding again to try to get a hint of where I am. This place looks familiar. All of this is familiar.

Reality dawned upon me like a thunderbolt I am in the back of my vacation villa and this scene happened two years after my marriage with Anthony.

Chanel came back from abroad out of the blue and hijacked our vacation. Furthermore, she jumped into the lake pulling me along with her by holding my elbow. Then blamed me that I pushed her into the lake. It feels like I have traveled two years back.

My eyes fell upon my wedding ring, this is the old ring the one I used to wear before we changed our wedding ring on our third anniversary. I see Anthony also wearing the old ring. Have I traveled back in time? All of these thoughts are spinning in my mind. This cannot happen. How is this possible? No one can time travel it is just impossible.

Anthony harshly pulled my wrist pulling me out of my daze. My wrist is burning. Anthony has scratched me drawing blood. This is what exactly happened two years ago.

“Apologize to Chanel right now” Anthony screamed. Why should I apologize I have done nothing wrong.

“I am not apologizing when it is not my fault. Contrary to what you believe she is done who pulled me and not the other way around” I screamed back.

Chanel smirked at me before turning to Anthony “No Anthony don’t take your anger out on her I don’t need any apology”

I am familiar with her drama. This face of hers is only reserved for when Anthony is around. She brings out her true nature when it is just the two of us. I stayed quiet I am in no mood to argue with someone who is not going to listen to my point of view. It is useless wasting my words. My head is already throbbing with pain. I still have not gotten over my shock to be back in time.

"You are so nice Chanel even to someone who does not deserve it" I rolled my eyes if only he knew what lay behind that makeup-filled face.

"You Rosalyn" Anthony pointed towards me

"Now what, anything left you have not accused me of doing,” I said in a bored tone.

"If you do something like this again or even think about hurting Chanel, I am going to divorce you in a heartbeat. Consider this my first and last warning to you" He threatened and left holding Chanel's wrist.

Chanel made a victory sign mocking me when Anthony was not paying attention. She may have won the argument this time but I am the one who is going this battle. I am going to remind them who Rosalyn Campbell is.

However, life has given me a second chance and I am grabbing it with both hands. I am not going to let it go down the drain. I am done being treated like dirt on shoes. I am not going down the old road again leading up to nothing but pain, humiliation, and disrespect. I am putting the past including Anthony behind me. He threatened me that he is going to divorce me if I do anything to his lover again.

I have decided I am going to leave him first. There will be no second time. I am taking the reins of my life back in my hand. I am done being pushed around. I will no longer bow down to anyone not even Anthony for that I need to divorce Anthony.
