It had been a week since the storm passed over Holt Estate. A week since Tasha's nightmare in the woods, since the shadow by the stables, and since Joseph had caught sight of a vampire on the edge of the tree line.

The girls had no idea that Rupert wasn't their only danger.

They thought things were starting to feel normal. Especially since Rupert hadn't been sending any threats to their family back home.

Debby was finally settling in to the American lifestyle. She'd even learned how to ride the chestnut mare Tania had given her, who Debby proudly named Beyoncé. Every morning, Debby walked down to the paddock in tights and an oversized hoodie like she was heading to war, then came back two hours later covered in horsehair, acting like she'd conquered the damn Wild Wild West.

"Mi did tell yuh mi cudda handle di ting," she'd boast, brushing hay out of her braids. "Me is a country gal by heart. But Beyoncé is a real bad gal. Kick like she come from Spanish Town." (I told you I could han

Tasha's mouth dropped. "You what?""I know Joseph's a werewolf." Tania gave a knowing smile. "And so am I."Then, without warning, she threw back her head and howled. The sound ripped through the night. The howl was long, haunting, and powerful. It echoed across the hills like a secret being declared.Tasha gulped. "Oh my god... is everyone in this town a werewolf?"Joseph shrugged. "Pretty much. This whole town is made up of my pack.""So you're like... their boss?""I'm their Alpha," Joseph said simply. "So yeah. Their leader."Tania's face turned more serious. "Tasha, go pack your things. Joseph and I need to speak. Alone.""But... you're not coming with us?""No, sweetheart. I'll be fine."Joseph turned to her, softening his voice. "I'll send a few of my soldiers to guard this place. Your grandmother will be safe. I promise."Reluctantly, Tasha nodded and turned toward the house, only for Debby to suddenly throw her hands up."Okay, hold on. Time out!" Debby shouted, pointing betw

The silence in the car was thick with tension as Joseph drove through the dark, narrow roads toward Tasha's grandmother's estate. The events of the restaurant still pulsed in her veins; the violence, the blood, the transformation, but what kept tugging at her focus wasn't just the monster attack or the cryptic cloaked figure. It was Joseph. He was unashamedly naked. Gloriously so, might I add.His shredded clothes had been left behind in the wreckage of the restaurant, and now he sat in the driver's seat, completely unclothed. His hands casually rested on the wheel like it was just another Tuesday night. Moonlight played along the strong lines of his body, catching on dried blood and fresh bruises, but it didn't make him look any less breathtaking. If anything, it made him look like a god fresh from battle.Tasha sat stiffly in the passenger seat, staring straight ahead, refusing, absolutely refusing to look down, up or sideways. Poor girl. Joseph's voice broke the silence, a teasing

The creature lifted his hands and waved them and the two rogues leapt at Joseph and Marcello. Joseph shoved Tasha down behind the bar just as claws sliced through the air where her head had been. Bottles exploded around them, showering the room in glass and alcohol. The rogue hissed making a sound more reptile than wolf, and then it spun to strike again.Joseph met it mid-swing, silver blade flashing in his palm. He sliced at it. The cut was shallow, but it sizzled on contact. The rogue shrieked and staggered back, steam curling from the wound. Its companion, the gaunt one with flickering green eyes, leapt forward, only for Don Marcello to intercept it, moving with a speed no mortal man could match.Marcello's fist drove into the creature's chest. Its bones cracked from the impact. The rogue hit the ground with a wet crunch, its limbs twitching. The cloaked figure stood untouched amid the chaos, watching with those inhuman black eyes. Smoke curled at its feet, but its expression nev

Don Marcello sipped his brandy like it was sacred, his eyes never leaving Joseph. The air in the room was thick with cigar smoke, old leather, and tension. A violin played somewhere faint in the background, but it might as well have been a dirge.Joseph stood like a loaded weapon. His hands were fists, barely contained at his sides."You're going to explain," Joseph said slowly, voice rough with restraint, "what the hell you meant by 'she's the key.'"Marcello leaned back, lips quirking with something between amusement and regret. "Always so impatient. Just like your father."Joseph's eyes narrowed. "Don't talk about my father.""Then let me talk about your future instead," Marcello said, setting his glass down with a soft clink. "And hers."Joseph didn't move. Didn't blink.Marcello gestured toward the empty chair across from him. "Sit. Unless you'd rather we both die standing."Joseph hesitated, then lowered himself into the seat. Still coiled, still ready to strike, but curious now

The restaurant was tucked into a cobblestone alley, its windows glowing softly with amber light. Inside, candlelight flickered in glass jars, casting shadows across crimson walls and heavy drapes. A low hum of violins played in the background, the notes smoky and slow like a lover's whisper.Joseph had reserved a booth in the back. It was semi-private. Very intimate. The table was set with polished silverware and a wine bottle already chilling in a bucket of ice. A single red rose lay across Tasha's napkin. She took it in, her eyes wide, lips parted in awe. "Wow...""You like it?" he asked as he helped her into her seat, his hand brushing the bare skin of her back.Tasha nodded, shyly smoothing her dress. "It's... beautiful and romantic."He grinned as he sat across from her, eyes locked on her face. "Wait until you try the food."A waiter in black brought them a bottle of deep red wine. Joseph declined the menu. "We'll start with the chef's choice. Antipasti and something to make her

Tasha stared at the peach dress hanging from her closet door while chewing on her nails. It was soft, feminine. A dress that said sweet, not easy. She liked it. Loved it, even. But Debby hated it."You are not wearing that," Debby declared, flopping belly-first onto the bed like a judge striking a gavel. "That's a Sunday brunch dress. We are going for Friday night fire."Tasha eyeballed her. "Really now.""Really, just hear me out," Debby said, chewing on a red Twizzler. "That peach thing says, 'Hi, I'm sweet and romantic and would never stab you in your sleep.' The leather one says, 'I might choke you, but you'll like it.'""It's a date, not a cage fight," Tasha replied, tugging her satin robe tighter.Debby flung her legs up dramatically and hurried toward the closet. She took out the outfit that she thought Tasha should wear. It could only be described as post-apocalyptic dominatrix couture. It was sleek black leather, had silver buckles, and sheer mesh in places Tasha didn't even

The smell of blood and motor oil still hung in the air as Joseph paced beside the wrecked Charger, his eyes sweeping the treeline. Chris sat on the hood, pressing a rag to his split lip and swearing under his breath."You should go. I'll wait on the tow truck and keep an eye on the shipment." Chris stated.Joseph didn't reply. His nostrils were too busy flaring, picking up a sour, musky scent riding the wind. The rogue from before lunged from the shadows, hitting Joseph square in the ribs and knocking him off his feet. Another one came for Chris, claws bared, teeth flashing. They'd waited until the aftermath, when the tension settled just enough for their strike to catch.Joseph hit the ground rolling, shifting mid-motion. Bones snapped, fur exploded across his skin, and his body twisted into something monstrous.Rex surged forward with a guttural roar.Chris was already transforming. His face stretched, muscles bulked, and he met the charging wolf with a growl that shook the leaves f

The car was quiet as Joseph pulled into the dusty lot outside of The Iron Pit, a biker bar tucked between the woods and an old quarry. The place looked like it had seen more fights than renovations, with warped siding, flickering neon, and a row of customized bikes lined out in the parking lot.Chris was already leaning against the hood of his black Charger, chewing a toothpick. He had his arms crossed. His leather jacket was unzipped, and his eyes flicked toward Joseph's matte-gray Maserati as it crunched across gravel."Boss, you're late," Chris called as Joseph stepped out, adjusting the sleeves of his jacket."Blame Rex," Joseph muttered, slamming the door shut. "He led me right into Tasha."Chris's brows shot up. "Wait—what?"Joseph didn't elaborate right away. He walked up beside his beta and pulled out a cigarette, lighting it with a practiced flick. He took a slow drag, then exhaled like it helped anchor him.Chris narrowed his eyes. "You ran into her?""Literally." Joseph's l

  • My Boyfriend Is An Alpha Werewolf Mafia Boss   22: The Café

The two cousins spent a few hours in the town. They walked along the main street, browsed the antique shop, checked out a few museums, and got a lot of stares from people, who were mostly werewolves. Miss Tania had called ahead and informed the elders, who were mostly business owners, that her granddaughters were coming into town. Tasha tried to shake the heat from earlier, but it lingered. She swore she felt eyes on her sometimes, but when she turned, nothing was there.Poor Robert kept his distance, trying not to breathe too deeply.Debby, on the other hand, had a grand time. She flirted with the guy at the hardware store, convinced a bakery girl to give her a free slice of banana bread, and took twelve selfies with a wolf statue outside the general store.Their next stop was a café that seemed like the busiest building in town. The café was warm, buzzing with life and the smell of roasted peanuts and cinnamon. Debby nearly pressed her face against the glass pastry case, eyes wide
