My Dearest Lycan
My Dearest Lycan
Author: MichyWrites

All a dream.

Yesterday was the worst day of my life. My dream of being with a guy I crushed on was shattered yesterday. I had hope that I will one day be with him, but yesterday I lost hope.

All the effort I put in for this guy to notice me was all wasted yesterday, which was our graduation.

Remembering the many times he didn't notice me, pains me a lot. Even tears are not enough to express the pain.

But today I'm going to move on. I'm not going to cry about a stupid guy, instead, I'm going to find another who will notice me quickly and will love me the way I am.

As motivational speakers would say Life is short, and I can't spend my life thinking about a guy who doesn't love me. So I'm giving up even though it's a tough step for someone like me to take, but I'm giving up.

I scanned my clock and saw it was twenty-five minutes past seven. It was time for me to get up from bed. On norms, I wake up every day by seven but recently I've been reading a book which is about Lycans and how they find their mates.

I've been reading it for the past few days and I'm almost getting to the end of it. I love the book, it's suspenseful and it talks about a girl who gets caught in between three Lycans to who she is mated.

I'm not an individual who loves to read, but this book caught my attention. I'm the kind of girl who does not believe in happy endings and fairy tales. Life is short and hard, and I don't think we will all have happy endings.

I stretched my hands and stood up from my bed. I scratched my eyes and drop the book I was reading on my bed.

I just hope today isn't going to be like my other days. What I'm even thinking? it's going to be a day of no Ryan to crush on. No more high school and all I'm waiting for is an answer from the college I applied for.

I smiled knowing that today I will have all day to myself.

Sluggishly, I walked out of my room. The room opposite me was my brother's. His room is always noisy and loud.

But, strangely, it isn't loud today. I wondered if he is inside because the Greg I know will always play disturbing music.

Or maybe he decided to change? I thought.

I ignored it, and I begin to walk up the stairs as I got to the sitting room, there were a lot of people.

"Happy Birthday" They all screamed together, and the next thing they threw balloons at me.

Water from nowhere was poured on me and I was completely wet.

I shouted, "What the heck?"

My mother came to me"Happy Eighteenth birthday darling" she said.

And that was the confusion started.

"Is today my birthday?"I asked.

"Of course, it's your birthday. We've prepared everything, I invited all family members and some members of the pack."She replied.

"Pack? why will you invite them?"I asked.

"They are still part of your life, and I can invite more people if you want."She replied.

I stood not knowing what to do. I spent the whole week thinking of how I will get the attention of my crush that I forget today is my birthday.

And that's not even a problem, but the fact that my mom invited some members of the pack is something I'm not expecting.

I'm part of a Lycan pack. I've always neglected that part of me because I don't like to be called one. A lot of humans call us dangerous, and I don't want them to call me that and that's the reason why I didn't tell anyone about me being a Lycan.

Thanks to my mom, I just remembered what it feels like to be a Lycan. Dangerous, fast, and everything. I'm thinking about everything and I might panic right now.

I don't want to be a Lycan, not anymore. Though we don't howl like wolves anytime his a full moon and we have full control of ourselves when we transform, I don't just like it.

My mom always tells me that I should be part of who I am, that I'm gifted, and blah blah blah. I don't just like any of this.

They all stared at me waiting for my reaction, so I just fake a smile and jump in fake excitement.

My parents and relatives smiled, they are happy because I am happy, which I'm not.

"Thank you, everyone, I wasn't expecting this. You guys surprised me, and I'm thankful for that."I said.

"Okay, now it's time to prepare for the big party."My mother said.

"What party?"I asked

"Didn't I tell you? well I in particular cause it's my idea, am holding a birthday party for you. I just invited your best friend, Patty and she's going to invite some of your colleagues from high school."She replied happily.

"Mom it's too much. A lot of people, how do you expect them to fit in this small house of ours?"I asked.

"Don't worry, there's a pool outside and I will hire some people to decorate it for you," she replied.

"Mom, you know I don't like crowds on my birthday, "I complained.

"You are eighteen today Cassy. I haven't given you the best birthday celebration and you turning eighteen, it's good news. I know you don't like it, but you have to cause I spent a lot making this possible."My mom said.

At first, I was still frowning, but she smiled at me and I had no other choice than to smile.

"Alright mom, let's make the most out of it," I said.

"That's the spirit" she replied and turned to everyone."Cassy has agreed to celebrate with us, so you can have whatever you like, and you can do whatever you want," she said and they all shouted in excitement.

I smiled and just when I was about to take it I heard Patty shout my name.

She walked to me and hugged me tightly"Happy Eighteenth birthday Cassy. Why didn't you tell me?, I wouldn't have known if not for your mother." she said.

"I forgot today was my birthday. I spent the week before graduation thinking of how perfect my life would be with Jason."I replied.

She smiled"I know how it feels. After putting in the effort, he still didn't notice you. But it doesn't mean you shouldn't celebrate, you only get to be eighteen once. C'mon, you need to get dressed up."Patty said, she grabbed my hands and dragged me through the stairs.

We both entered my room, and immediately she went to the wardrobe and begin to search for clothes.

"You need off those wet clothes of yours, 'cause I just found a better pair of clothes for you to wear," Patty said.

I exhaled and took off my clothes. She stretched the pair of clothes she picked for me. I gave it a look and didn't mind wearing it because of how beautiful it was.

"You look amazing, it's time to give you a makeover. Trust me you would look unrecognizable."Patty said.

"Are you sure Patty, because the last time you gave me a makeover I ended up cleaning it all? It was really ugly."I replied.

"Don't worry. It won't be ugly, I was an amateur then but now I'm a pro."She said.

I'm good at wearing make-up, but I'm not a pro. I'm only good at using powders, lipsticks, and eye pencils.

But Patty is good at it all. We were in seventh grade when she gave me a makeover. She assured me it was good, so I went to school with my shoulder high thinking it was as good as she said.

To cut The story short, I was a laughing stock for the whole day. It was a school dance, and no one danced with me cause of the makeup.

I sat down alone that day and was oppressed by the way the other girls showed up. And the worst part was that Patty danced with the guy she liked, her make-up was good and she stole the dance cause all eyes were on her.

I was embarrassed and ever since then I didn't allow her to touch my face nor did I allow her to try make-ups on me.

But it's the past, and I believe she's now a pro. So I'm going to give her a chance.

I sat on my bed and allowed her to do what she does best. And a few minutes later she was done. She gave me a mirror to take a look at myself and when I did, I was shocked.

I looked amazing and beautiful.

"Wow, I look so stunning. Thank you, Patty."I said with a smile.

"I'm glad you liked it. It's my birthday gift, and I also did it because I owe you."She said.

All of a sudden the door opened revealing my mother.

"I'm sorry for disturbing you, but it's time for everyone to see you."She said.

"Isn't it early?, the time is just Eight, "I replied.

"It's not too early. You need to come down so that they would see you, and by the way, you look beautiful" She said, took a step backward, then closed the door.

"I know you don't like the hospitality you get from your mother. You are eighteen, and this is the only time she would volunteer to throw a big party for you. You might think she's treating you like a child, but she just loves you. I wished she was my mother."Patty said.

She was about to continue when I cut her off"Enough of the motivations, which high heels do you think fit?"I asked, showing her various high heels.

"The pink one."She replied.

"Good" I muttered and began to wear the pink one.

A few minutes later, I was done and it was time for me to step out.

I walked out of my room stylishly, and as I walked through the stairs the sound of my high heels gain the attention of everyone.

All eyes were on me and I felt on top of the world.

Everyone smiled at me, people took pictures of me.

But then I noticed someone in the crowd, I looked closer and found out it was Jason.

I was shocked, I couldn't believe he would show up.

And just as I was about to continue my walk, someone began to tap me.

I looked up and saw it was my mom, and then I realized it was all a dream.
