Hi

As I said the word, I didn't know if I was ready or not. If I were to think of the negative side of breaking the rule to be with someone who by intention refused to ask me out, there would be a lot of consequences.

I don't know what he is it is what he is doing in the woods I'm being restricted from passing.

The king spared me once and I'm sure he is not going to do it the second time.

This is a risk and I'm not going to take it no matter how love him.

"Are you not coming with me?"He asked.

"I'm sorry but I can't, "I replied frankly and began to run away with my eyes closed.

Yeah, with my eyes closed. It was a tough decision and I'm glad I made the right choice.

I headed back home, I passed through a lot of corners so that I won't be caught by any of the guards.

A few minutes later, I got home and saw my parents were getting prepared for this ball.

I checked my time and saw it was time already. Did I spend most of my time with Ryan? It was just like we had a brief talk.

To be sure it was time, I checked outside and saw a lot of them were already dressed.

I turned back to my parents. They were happy about the ball. My mother wouldn't just stop smiling, and my father kept looking at himself to see if he was dressed properly.

I hate the fact the ball is for everyone. The ball is mostly for youths and teenagers, but adults are invited, and I'm sure the only reason why they are, is because of the king. He is an old man, and he wants old people like him to feel free.

Or maybe the reason why I'm annoyed is because of my parents. They are good, but sometimes I feel like they are doing too much.

Greg on the other side was dressed, but he wasn't so happy about it. He liked the way he was dressed and he wasn't looking at himself.

My mother turned to me"Why aren't you dressed?, You need to get dressed, C'mon follow me." she said.

I had no choice but to follow her. She took me to her room and handed me a gown to me. I looked at the gown and she was right about it fitting me.

"I love it," I muttered.

"I know you will. You need to be quick in wearing it so that I can be able to do your makeup."She said.

"Okay, I will be quick," I replied.

I entered the dressing room, took off my clothes, and wore the gown. It was comfortable for me, and I liked it. It was more beautiful than I thought.

I walked out of the dressing room, and my mother gasped when she saw it.

"It looks so beautiful. Come quick let me get your makeup done."She said, bringing out a chair for me to sit on.

I lifted the gown a little bit, and gently, I sat on the chair she provided.

My mother brought a box full of cosmetics. She opened it and one after the other, she brought them out.

I like her taste in fashion. She knows what fits every occasion, and it is one thing I like about her.

She applied everything she needed to and in a few minutes, I was looking amazing. Her makeup was just good, and it wasn't like Patty's first makeup trial, which I can never forget.

We were prepared for the ball, and stylishly we walked into the hall.

We were welcomed by the howls of some set of handsome lycans, which were not my mate.

And speaking of mate, I just hope I get to find my mate in this ball. I know how hard it is going to be, but for the sake of my parents and me, I'm going to give in my best in finding my mate.

The hall was filled. A lot of lycans and their mates stood admiring each other outfits. They were all smiling and laughing. The hall was well decorated and the music that was being played was the mood for the ball.

I was jealous of them all, yeah the lycans and their mates. They stared at themselves lustfully, and I couldn't help but just imagine myself doing the same thing with my mate.

"We are going to get a space for ourselves. I hope you both enjoy yourselves."My mother said.

She held hands with my father, gave me a wink and they both walked to where I don't know.

I was left with Greg, he was standing and staring at every couple. I watched as his eyes moved from one person to another.

"Why are we here?"He asked.

"We are here to have fun," I replied.

"I know that, but is this place not for couples? Like everyone is with their various mates."He said.

"It isn't only for couples, you can have fun with your friends too," I replied.

"I don't have one."He muttered.

"What about Erik?"I asked.

"He isn't coming. His parents said he is not allowed to come." He replied.

And just then I sighted Erik, he was looking around, and it was obvious he was searching for Greg.

I pointed to Erik"Look at him there, he came after all."I said.

Greg was surprised, and swiftly he ran to meet Erik.

I stood all alone. I looked around and saw the ball had fully begun. The music was changed to slow music, and the colored lights shined on every couple.

They all held each other's hands as they dance, and my jealousy was turning into envy.

I need to find my mate quickly.

I began to walk around the hall, bumping into people to know if I would feel any connection.

You might be wondering how I'm going to know if any Lycan is my mate, it's simple.

If I get closer to any Lycan that's my mate, I'm going to feel a heat which would make up speak to him without control.

I've read a lot of books, and all happen that way. My father also told me a story and it was all accurate.

I continued and tried my possible best, but I couldn't find my mate. I kept on trying but I still couldn't find my mate.

I gave up and looked for a seat to sit on.

A lady was sitting next to me. I could tell she was having the same problem. Her hands were placed on her jaw, and she kept inhaling and exhaling.

I tapped her, and she turned to me.

"What's wrong with you? You keep inhaling and exhaling, did something bad happen to you?"I asked.

"A lot of things are wrong with me, and it's none of your business."She replied.

Wow, she had the guts. I was only trying to be nice.

I decided to try again, so I tapped her again. She turned to me and wanted to say a word, but I cut her off, in a gentle manner.

"I'm only trying to be nice. We both have something that's bothering us. I don't know yours and you don't know mine, and I'm only being nice to ask, so don't be rude to me."I said, and she began to shed tears.

I was shocked, why the hell is she shedding tears? I didn't touch her.

"Why are you crying? What's wrong with you? This is the last time I'm going to ask."I said.

She wiped away her tears"I don't have a mate" she replied.

At first, I felt pity for her, then I felt she was only pretending, and then I felt pity for her when I saw the look on her face.

I sighed"I'm passing through the same thing."I said.

"Really?"She asked.

"Yeah. It's frustrating."I replied.

"I've tried all ways, but I couldn't find mine. My mother said I should always look beautiful so that they would find me by themselves, but it's not just working."She said.

"My mother didn't tell me that, "I replied.

"I keep applying makeup to my face hoping they would find me as she said. But it all failed, 'cause I'm now doing it by myself."I said.

"Your mother was not right, but at least she gave you a hint. It's been hard for me too, every Lycan I come across turns out not to be my mate, so disappointing."I replied.

"I heard you are new here, Is that true?"She asked.

"Yeah, it's true. My parents decided we stay here after my brother transformed and nearly killed our neighbor's child."I replied.

"Did they sue your parents?"She asked.

"No, they didn't. They were the ones that forced us to pack."I replied.

"I faced the same thing. I don't like transforming because I'm not proud of who I am. Anytime I transform I cause commotions and they look at me like I'm a__"

"Monster" I completed it for her.

"How do you know?"She asked.

"I feel the same way. I hardly transform for that same reason, even before my brother nearly killed a teenager like him. I just wish I wasn't born this way. My parents have tried encouraging me. Sometimes I feel like they do too much and sometimes I feel like they are not doing enough."I paused.

And continued"I'm sorry I shouldn't be telling you this"

"No, you don't need to. We are both facing the same thing, and there's nothing to be sorry about."She said.

This is the first time I would ever say how I feel, and I couldn't believe it was to a lady I just met.

"You know what, let's try again. Let's do it together, let's find our mates together."She suggested.

"It's a good idea, let's do it," I said.

We stood up at the same time and began to walk around, finding our mates.

"I'm Evelyn by the way."She said.

"Cassy" I replied.

"I just hope I'm mated to the Lycan king's son, "She said.

"Does he has a son?"I asked.

"Yes, he does. He's walking through this way."She replied, pointing at him.

I looked at him, and he was just so handsome.

His hair was smooth, and his teeth were perfect.

He bumped into us but stopped.

I felt strange, I felt the connection, I felt the heat.

"Hi" I found myself saying.
