CHAPTER 6 - Arvo Corner

Erica's POV

My shift ended at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I rest at Silver's house and waited until the clock strikes 6 o'clock. Were celebrating today and Eirin said that were all having a dinner at Arvo Corner.

"If ever you would drink alcohol, don't get drunk." Silver reminded me for the fifth time. She was so worried that maybe we would drink alcoholic drinks and I would get drunk too much and reveal my true identity to all of them.

"Yeah. Just relax, okay? I'm not getting drunk. Were having dinner together, not getting drunk together," I assured her. After I take a shower I immediately put on my clothes. I only wear a simple t-shirt topped with a leather jacket since it's cold tonight, jeans and a pair or flat sandals. I got my purse and say goodbye to Silver whose busy designing some gowns. She's a successful fashion designer.

After twenty minutes of riding a taxi, I reached the Arvo Corner. I immediately saw my co-janitresses standing outside the restaurant and waiting for me.

"Aila!" they shouted as they saw me got out of the taxi. After I paid the driver, I walk towards them. I greeted them with a coy smile.

"Since we don't have so much money, were going to share, okay?" suggested Jessica

We all agreed. "Let's just order the cheap ones. That would be fine already," suggested Eirin. Our salary as a janitress is quite low so that's why we need budgeting.

We all decided to go inside and find a seat. We ordered many foods which is enough for all of us and at the same time not make our pockets empty.

"The foods here looks very delicious. Have you guys eaten here already?" asked Jessica

"This is the first time," Anne answered, she is 'the head of the janitresses' because of her service to the company for so many years.

"Oh! It's Sir Matthew!" Eirin exclaimed while pointing at the door, we all looked at that direction. My mind was telling me to not look, but my heart says I should.

It was indeed him.

It's been seven years since I last saw him but he still looks handsome as before. There are a bit changes on his appearance though. He became more hotter than ever!

He waved his hand as he saw us. "Good evening, sir," my co-workers greeted. So he's part of my grandpa's company now, huh.

The next thing I knew was he was walking towards our direction. Shoot! What if he recognizes me?! Should I leave already?!

"I see you guys are having dinner," he said as he reached our spot. Now, I'm getting more nervous. I keep myself busy by scanning the entire place. Looking here, looking there.

"Indeed, sir. Were celebrating," answered Anne

"Celebrating what?" asked Matthew

"This month, a lot of janitress has been hired. So we decided to celebrate a little," said Eirin with a smile on her lips.

"Wanna join us, sir?" offered Jessica

"Yeah. Sure. I was really planning to dine in." I glanced at Matthew as he takes a seat next to Anne. I didn't imagine that I would be able to see him once again. I immediately look down to my purse when he looked at me, pretending that I was looking for something.

"Are you also new, miss?" he asked. Is he asking me? Yes, dummy. He's asking you. Should I answer? What if he recognizes me? My voice?

"Aila," Jessica called

I immediately looked up on Jessica. "Yeah?" I asked

"Uhmmm---let me introduce you to Sir Matthew Scott, the director of Enril's Construction," said Jessica whose sitting beside me.

"Sir Matt, this is Aila Miller, a new hired janitress," she added

I simply look at Matthew and let out a simple smile escape my lips. "Nice to meet you, Sir Matthew," I greeted him using a cold, deep voice. I also make sure that I didn't make long eye contacts with him. He might recognize me.

"Likewise, Aila," he answered. His voice became more matured than I remember how he sounds before. "So, since I'm part of the celebration, I would be honored to treat you all, girls."

"Yes!" my co-janitresses went chearing and saying thank you to Matthew, while I just smiled while looking at them. We began to eat when the food was finally served.

"Is it your day-off, ladies?" asked Matthew

"No, sir. Our shifts ended earlier," answered Anne. I chew on some steak while listening to their conversation.

They were all laughing and chattering and it is quite enjoying to watch them...especially Matthew. The way he talks to a janitress like us, even though he's a director, really prooves that he is a nice person. Just like how I know him.

"Do you guys want to have some drink? Wine, beer or something?" asked Matthew

My colleagues stared to each other with exciting smiles. "We still have shifts tomorrow. I'm afraid I can't drink," said Eirin

"Then we'll sober up," said Jessica with a smile.

"I really want some alcohol today, are you ladies in?" Matthew asked excitedly

"Yes!"

"Of course, sir!"

Silver was right. We were actually going to drink. I'll have my control and not get drunked.

"CHEERS!!!"

"Slowly, Eirin," I said while helping Eirin to walk. She got so drunk that she can't even control herself in walking. "I didn't know you're quite heavy."

"W-where *hik* am *hik* I?" she asked. It's funny how she said that she didn't want to get drunk earlier, but now she's totally walking in a zigzag direction.

I put her arm in my shoulder and we walk together. "I'm sending you home," I answered. Good thing I didn't drink too much. Worse events might happen.

"Aila!" I turn around and saw Jessica walking towards us. "I'll help you with Eirin," she offered as she approach our spot.

"I can handle her. What about the others?" I asked

"Anne was really drunk. Faye take her home already with the rest of the girls," she answered. "Faye's boyfriend came with a car so the rest of the girls come with them."

"Ladies!" It was Matthew's voice.

"Where is *hik* my bed?" Eirin spoke as she look around to find a 'bed'.

"Hang on. I'm going to send you home," I answered

"Ladies." Matthew reached our spot. He is even more handsome in up-close. "I'll send you home."

"No, sir. We can take care of ourselves," refused Jessica

"You two can. But with that friend of yours, it would be more difficult for the both of you. Come on. My car's right here," he insisted, leaving us no choice.

He come near to me. "I'll carry Eirin." I didn't argue with him anymore, I let him carry Eirin like a bride. I watch him as he walk towards his car and put Eirin on the backseat of his Lamborghini Urus car.

"The car looks so expensive," Jessica whispered in my ear as we walk towards the car.

"Yeah. He's rich," I replied. I let Jessica take the frontseat while I sit at the back, beside Eirin. Matthew started the car and drive. There was silence all over the car, probably because all of us are exhausted this day.

I close my eyes to relax myself for a moment.
