Erica's POV
It tooked me one week to prepare for this plan. I visited the salon yesterday to dyed my hair red, like the Weasley's hair in Harry Potter. I also brought red fake bangs to use it for my disguise. And also from now on, I will not wear any make up so I would look stressed and unrecognizable, but I need to wear contact lense to make my eyes look blue even though their brown. And Silver's boyfriend helped me create new and fake documents about me. I even changed my name, from Erica Roberts to Aila Miller.
My new name and my fake documents helped me get a job at my grandpa's company, I applied as a janitress. To be exact, today is my first day at work.
"Don't stare too much to someone you know." I remember the words that Silver said before I leave her house.
I'm at the lounge area of my grandpa's construction company, sitting on the couch while waiting for someone to assist me. I always keep my head down and avoid having long eye contacts to others so that no one would recognize me.
"Miss Miller?""Miss Miller?"
"Aila Miller?"
Shoot! I forgot. That's my fake name. I stood up and face the lady who called my fake name many times already. "I'm---Aila Miller," I said with a cold voice as I faced her. She's a beautiful young lady who wears a janitress uniform.
"Oh. It's you. Come on. I'll show you around," she said with a smile. We leave the lounge area and walk towards the hallway. I maintain my head down while we are walking.
"My name is Eirin Smith, I'm also a janitress here. I'm already twenty-three," she introduced herself while walking. "How 'bout you?" she asked.
"I'm twenty-five---I mean twenty-four." I almost forgot that I have a fake age.
I heard her chuckled. "You don't have to be so nervous. You can approach me anytime," she said. I can sense that she is smiling but I just can't look up because I have to maintain bowing my head down.
"You seems lika a shy type person. Lift your head up a bit," she mentioned.
I refuse to do what she said. "I can't," I shortly replied.
"Okay," she said awkwardly. "By the way, do you kind if I ask this? But, do you have ear problems?" she asked.
My eyebrows furrowed. "Ear problems?" I asked back, without looking up.
"Back in the lounge area, I've called your name three times already but you didn't hear it, though I was just standin' in front of you," she stated.
Hope I could say that it was my fake name that's why I didn't bother to answer her. "Yeah. I have some sort of ear problems," I lied.
She opened a door and we went inside. It's a small room filled with shelves, boxes, and lockers. "This is the janitor's room," she mentioned."The equipments that we need like vacuum cleaner, mops, and brooms are in that corner." She pointed to the corner of the room where I saw a lot of equipments use for cleaning.
"The detergents, anti-bacterial chemicals, and alcohol are in these boxes." She pointed the three boxes filled with detergents and other chemicals used for cleaning.
She walked towards the lockers. "And this is our locker. Each of us have one. You can put your clothes here or any other stuffs."
She opened one of the lockers and I saw her put out a folded cloth from it. "This is our uniform. This is yours." She handed me the folded cloth and smile.
"You can go change at the restroom, just beside this room." I nodded as I take the folded cloth and went outside, walking directly to the door beside the Janitor's room.
After I change my clothes I went back to the Janitor's room and Eirin continued orienting me. "You will clean the twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth floor, together with me."
I nodded after I heard all of her instructions and reminders. Both of us headed to the elevator, carying our cleaning supplies and materials, and goes up to the twenty-fourth floor.
We both agreed to clean in separate ways to make the job easier. Eirin said that some rooms in this floor are being used for meetings, and if I encounter a room with people meeting inside, I should not clean it yet.
Since now I'am a janitress here, I could easily find the important things that I need to find without anyone noticing me. They would just thought that I'm a normal janitress, just trying to clean and do my job. Aunt and uncle's office are on the thirty-sixth floor and I was assigned in the twenty-fourth floor, how am I suppose to make an alliby to go there?
As of now, I still need to finish my job and help Eirin. I started to mop the hallway's floor because no one is passing here yet. After minutes of cleaning, someone spoke.
"Excuse me." I raised up my head to look at the person who spoke. I saw two good-looking men in their bussiness suits---Shoot!
I immediately looked down to the mop I'm holding. What the f*ck?! What is he doing here?! It's Klyde Aero Morrison! Did he recognize me?!
"You okay, miss?" asked the other guy whose with Klyde Morrison.
"Where is the Conference Room?" that was Klyde's cold voice.
I could already feel my knees shaking but I did my best to not make it obvious. I'm sweating out of nervousness.
"I-it's at the end of the hallway, sir," I answered. I changed my voice a bit, I made it sound deeper and cold so that he wouldn't recognize it.
I keep my head down and after a few seconds, I heard Klyde Morrison said "Thank you." Then they left.
I feel relieved. Phew! That was stressing! Maybe he didn't recognize me, right? I mean, we first met at the bar and it was dark there so I guess he didn't saw my face clearly. And now, I have my new look so maybe my disguise is effective and he didn't recognize me. Besides, I changed my voice when I answered them.
He didn't recognize me. And if he did, he would have said "Hey, I think I know you".
As long as nothing's wrong, I'm good.
I acted as if nothing happened and continued moping the floor.Erica's POV I spent my break time with Eirin. We went to a nearby cafe and have a chit-chat, to know each other more. "So why did you apply being a janitress when you can be a model somewhere?" she asked out of the blue. "Model?" I asked narrowing my eyebrows. "Yeah. A model. Duh! You're beautiful, Aila," she complimented. I smiled a bit. "I'm not," I said as I looked down to my coffee. I'm maintaining the usual attitude of Aila Miller, the quiet, cold, and shy type women whose just a janitress at a successful company. She chuckled. "Come on, Aila. You're way better than that look of yours. You want me to give you a makeover?" she asked. I raised my head up and looked at her. "No. No." I immediately refuse, shaking my head wildly. If she gave me a makeover, the real Erica Roberts will show up amd my disguise as Aila Miller would be wasted. "Why not?" she asked. "I don't like makeover's," I shortly replied as
Erica's POV My shift ended at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I rest at Silver's house and waited until the clock strikes 6 o'clock. Were celebrating today and Eirin said that were all having a dinner at Arvo Corner. "If ever you would drink alcohol, don't get drunk." Silver reminded me for the fifth time. She was so worried that maybe we would drink alcoholic drinks and I would get drunk too much and reveal my true identity to all of them. "Yeah. Just relax, okay? I'm not getting drunk. Were having dinner together, not getting drunk together," I assured her. After I take a shower I immediately put on my clothes. I only wear a simple t-shirt topped with a leather jacket since it's cold tonight, jeans and a pair or flat sandals. I got my purse and say goodbye to Silver whose busy designing some gowns. She's a successful fashion designer. After twenty minutes of riding a taxi, I reached the Arvo Corner. I immediately saw my co-janitresses standing outside t
Erica's POV "Aila." "Aila." I slowly opened my eyes and saw Jessica sitting on the frontseat of a car while looking at me. I looked around and saw another guy---Matthew? Oh shoot! "Did I fell a sleep?" I asked as I recall what happened earlier. Jessica chuckled, "Yeah. You did." I was surprise when I saw that Eirin was not sitting beside me anymore. She's gone. "Where's Eirin?" I asked again. "We dropped her off already," Matthew answered, I nod my head as response. "Now, I have to go. Sir Matthew will drive you home, Aila. He's a good guy don't worry," Jessica said with a smile. "I didn't say that he's a bad guy," I responded Jessica chuckled again. "Goodbye! Thank you, sir! Bye Aila." Those were the words that she said before she got of the car and ran inside her house. So...it's just the two of us. "Aila, you can move at the frontseat," Matthew broke the silence. "M-move? I'm a
Erica's POV"Aila! Wait!"I immediately stopped my legs from running and turned around to Matthew who called me."Y-your cleaning supplies. You left it." I was surprised and embarassed as hell as I saw Matthew got out of the elevator, carying my supplies and materials.I immediately ran towards him. "I'm really sorry. I must be out of my mind," I apologize, bowing my head. I immediately grab my supplies from him and carry it using my own two hands."No worries," he said with a smile. Can the floor open up and swallow me?! This is so embarassing! I ran away from them but forgot my supplies. Urgh! How stupid can I go?!"Tch."I caught a glance at Klyde Morrison who stepped out of the elevator and walked pass through us. But I swear I saw him smirked at me."Hey. Klyde. Let's go there together," Matthew offered.I turn around to Klyde and he actually agreed. "I don't mind.""Gotta go, Aila. Take care," Matthew
Erica's POVIt's been two days since I cleaned Aunt Rosett's office. I didn't steal the documents of Madeline and Alisson West because they would suspect that I stole it, so I just use my phone and take pictures of it."Erica, I got a news from Tyler!" I was lying in bed and resting when Silver came to my room, rushing. "About Alisson!"I immediately sit and looked at her. "What about her? Did Tyler found out who is she?" I asked. Tyler is a Private Investigator that's why it's easier for him to look for someone's profile and life background."According to Tyler, Alisson West was a former employee at Enril's construction---your grandpa's--- but then she got into an accident and police claimed that she died."I suddenly feel upset. "So she's dead already? Argh! I thought she was the one who can help me.""I'm not done yet," she smirked that made me frowned at her. "Tyler couldn't talk to Sargent Samuel--- who was in charge in that case--- bec
Erica's POVWhen Friday came, me and Zoe secretly meet at the parking lot on the company's building. Zoe insisted to Aunt's secretary to give me a day off on Friday so that I would be able to come with her. Before me and Zoe even met, I opened the GPS of my phone because Tyler told me so. He said he'll track our way and the place where we're going, to make sure that I would be safe."What's your complete name?" Zoe asked while driving the car."It's Aila Miller." I keep my eyes on the road while answering her."Miller. Are you from here?" she asked again."No. I came from a far away province," I lied. I'm such a good actress. Or maybe a good liar."Do you have your parents?" Why do I feel like she's a reporter whose so interested in me?"They died when I was five. There was a fire on our house and I was the only one who survived," I lied again. But the pain in my voice is real. I remembered how my parents we're kil
Erica's POV"How do you know me?" she asked.I don't know what to feel. Thankful that I found her, worried because of what Zoe did to her, or pity her situation. I didn't expect that I would find her this way. And in this situation of hers. I almost can't recognize her because she really looks very different and miserable."What happened to you?" I asked completely ignoring her question. I was about to take a step towards her when she forbided me not to."Don't come near me. Are you going to hurt me? Y-your just like that Zoe and the whole Roberts family." She sounded so scared that her tears began to flow from her eyes down to her cheeks.I might be one of the Roberts, but I'm not as cruel as them."No. No. I'm not going to hurt you," I tried to calm her down. She must've gone through a lot with Zoe and my family. Her eyes tells me that she's frightened and angry."I said, how do you know me?" she asked as her tears continue to flow
Erica's POV My monday morning started as a normal life for Aila Miller, I went to the company and do my duties as a janitress. But Erica's mission is different. Alisson mentioned about a certain hard drive which is she thinks is located at Uncle Gil's office. The hard drive contains files and CCTV videos that my aunt and uncle had hidden from people. Why did they hid it? Because it's the evidence! And that is exactly what Erica's mission is--- to find that hard drive. And to start, I made an alibi just to make it to thirty-six floor. And thankfully, Anne agreed and let me clean the thirty-six floor together with her and Jane. "Let's split up again and meet later. Clean well, girls," Anne said as the three of us split ways. Of course, I manage to convince them that I would be the one to clean Uncle Gil's office. I'm a good liar and actress, and that's all that it takes for me to get what I wanted. I was in front of Uncle's office, and w
