Samantha Point of View
We spent the whole time argueing with each other. We yelled and tried to reason with each other but none of us were going to back down. Mom tells me that it was our duty to not abuse our powers and I completely understand that but a friend died because she was got involved in something that she didn't even know is going on.
I followed mom around the room to plead to her to reconsider. When she still didn't agree, i yelled out, "Mom, it's Linda! We knew her her for a long time. She is basically like family!"
She turns back and takes two step towards me and said, "If we bring back one person then what is going to stop others from doing the same. We need to become an example."
"MOM!" I yelled. She slamms her fist on the table beside her and vase with roses from our garden fell to the floor. Shattered sounds echoed around the room. Broken pieces of the vase were scattered all over the floor. Water from t
Samantha Point of viewI believed that Rai's plan was the only crazy idea I'd hear today but when those words left my mouth, I no longer believe that. I never thought I would be someone who would give crazy ideas. To put so much trust in a plan that has never been done before.Even if I thought the whole thing was impossible and crazy, I was still willing to do it. I can't live without thinking of the slight possibility of it working. I'm doing this for Linda. Rai thought it was a crazy idea too. He stared at me with his eyes wide open. He was stunned that I even suggested the idea of killing my own family just so mom could help us.Minutes have passed and I noticed that the clouds started to pile up and cover the sky. I heard mothers from the village called out to their children who were playing in the water. Glancing at the sky, it would seem like a cloudy day but the way the wind began to blow, anyone would think it was going to rain by
Samantha Point of view The clouds quickly covered the whole sky and turned grey. It started to drizzle at first then it poured down hard. It was good that Rai and I finished going over the plan of doing the spell. He said that the spell will happen in three days and within the days between now and then, he will come and kill my dad and Xavier. I stopped under a huge tree to take a break from running in the rain. I tightly shut my eyes closed and wrapped my arms around myself from the cold wind, rain, and the thought of my plan that I willingly suggested easily. I couldn't believe I suggested it. I can't believe I was allowing this to happen. I can't believe I'm going to go home and act like everything was going to be okay. I take a deep breath and reminded myself that this will all be worth it. That this was an opportunity that I should not waste. To end Marcus' doing before it gets out of hand. This will be worth it. I open
Samantha Point of view I have never seen my brother look so torn between believing my words or thinking of it as a prank but he knew I would not joke about this. His hand that was holding the umbrella upward slowly lowered down. I could see his visible anxiousness when he swallowed. His eyes were wide open as he stared at me, trying to decide. Maybe he was waiting for me to say that it was a prank. That we would both burst into laughter for a few minutes. He would have complimented me for a convincible performance but the more time has passed, the chance of Linda's death being a lie was closing. He does not ask. Instead, he kept his eyes on me as if he was mentally asking me if it was real. The tears that rolled down my face were more than enough to tell him that I wasn't lying. He let the umbrella fall out of his hands. He backed up to the tree we were under and lowered himself to the ground. He covered his head with his hands an
Samantha Point of view I took the time to tell him the whole plan. About the spell that was going to happen in three days. Before the spell, I asked Rai to kill him and dad. I would fake my death because I was still needed for the spell. "Once I have done my part of the spell and when mom finally finds me, Rai will take my life. Hopefully, that will be enough to force Mom to help us." "How sure are you that she would still trust Rai after killing you?" he questioned. "She would think it would be a trap." "She knows that I trust the spell would work." "A spell that has never been done before," he reminded. "An opportunity is what I see and Mom will see it too." I see Xavier shaking his head. "She will realize that the only possible way to get us back is if she does the spell. The time to do the spell is limited so she would be pressured to go through it." "And dad?" he mentioned. I paused. I have
Samantha Point of viewThe umbrella was too small to fit us both. The sides of our shoulders were getting soaked as we made our way back home. When we arrived, dad was already there with mom. I hesitated to come closer. Especially when mom was right there. Did she tell dad?The night went by. Mom was ignoring me, Xavier tried his best to act as nothing happened and Dad seemed like he knew nothing. I glanced at mom time to time but continued to ignore me throughout dinner. It was a reaction I was expecting but I was still wondering why she has not told dad?We finished dinner. Mom said she wasn't feeling well so she went to bed early. I stayed behind to do the dishes while Xavier helped out with the laundry. As I was washing, I hear dad coming in. I thought he would tell me that he knew but instead, he asked what was going on with me and mom."We had a disagreement about something," I answered while looking down at my bubbly hands on
Samantha Point of view Waiting under the pouring rain with an umbrella over my head. My eyes stayed glued to the door as my hand clenched the handle of the umbrella. The rain doesn't seem to stop. As moments passed by, it poured even harder with lightning striking every 5 minutes. I didn't even pay attention nor did I flinch at the loud thunderclap sound echoing the sky. Instead, it served as a reminder for me to breathe. I seem to forget to do that whenever I'm waiting anxiously for Rai to come out. Eventually, he does. I took a second to take in his appearance. There were no signs of struggler or blood on him. Anyone would think that he hasn't done the kill yet but judging the way he does not look right at me was a sign that he did. That he killed my brother and my father. Rai walks into the rain and towards me. I wante
Samantha Point of view Lena was the one who forced Tera to come over and start discussing the spell with me. She was reluctant at first but she came moments later. The things she took out of her bag were a pile of papers with a bunch of writings and pictures. She explained that these were the chants and instructions we needed to know before the spell. She also explained to me that the materials were also needed and were nothing to worry about since she was going to handle them herself. The parts of the keepers were to simply chant and offer blood. She went over the chants and taught me how to pronounce them all since this was not in English. Since it was an old spell, it was expected it would be in an ancient language. I was shocked since only a few people knew how to read them. Seeing how Tera was so fluent made me curious about her life since she looked young to learn this. No wonder Rai chose her to help him with the sp
Samantha Point of view Rai came back with some food but I didn't eat much. I didn't feel like eating at all tonight. I felt sick to my stomach, to be honest. It was like a huge negative void inside of me that won't go away. As we ate, we went through what we were going to do tomorrow. Lena and Tera did most of the talking while Rai only said one sentence when Tera asked about the 3rd keeper, "She'll be there tomorrow." I looked down at the meal that I barely touched. I realize that they really have no idea who the keeper was or how we were going to have one by tomorrow. They don't know the story. Rai didn't tell them. Maybe to keep them on board with the plan or to keep the others from thinking of what a horrible person I am for suggesting the idea. I sighed. After everyone was done with their meals, we prepared for bed. Rai was sleeping in another room while the girls and I would sleep in the room we cur
