Samantha Point of view
The 24-hour timer has started when Rai dropped me off on my way to my house. When I came in, I notice everyone being cautious around me. They were being quiet and smiling unnaturally at me. I tried talking to them like I usually do and that apparently startled them.
My brother, Xavier, asked me if I was fine. I said I feeling alright and helped them with lunch. As I helped my mother cook, I could feel their eyes on me. I slowly turned my head and they immediately looked away. It was obvious they were curious about something but they weren't saying anything.
I walked to Xavier when I was done helping mom. He was setting up the table and immediately looked carefully. My eyebrows scrunched together and I asked him, "Xavier, what's going on? Why are you guys acting weird."
"You tell me," he said. He sets down the last plate onto the table. "This morning you were in a bad mood and now you're back to
Samantha Point of view I wasn't able to get a good night sleep. I was turning and changing position most of the night just because I was anxious on what was going to happen tomorrow. I got up several times to get some water and paced around the house to try to get myself tired enough to sleep. I would always look out the window thinking about how he was. Wondering if his father found out that Rai lied. What if he was already tied up or locked away and couldn't get out. I bit my nails as I stared up to the night sky and I prayed that he would be okay. I went to bed but I didn't sleep for that long. I woke up too early and couldn't go back to sleep. I just leaned on the wall next to the bed and tried to think about something else. I thought of what to do when he comes back. I thought of telling mom because she always knew what to do. I'm sure she would want to know since she knew Rai's dad when she was a child. I
Samantha Point of view As I was walking down the path the baker told me, I haven't seen her at all. She could have taken another turn but I can't decide which path to take yet. From afar, I notice a familiar back who I immediately thought of Linda. "Linda," I yell out loud but she still didn't hear me. I ran towards her and called out her name but she started to run again. "Linda!" She took a turn and I no longer have eyes on her. Before I got too close to the corner, where she turned, someone bumped into me. The man's box fell and all the fruits inside fell to the ground. The man looked at me with anger and yelled at me, "What's wrong with you? What were you are going!" "I am so sorry, " I sincerely apologized. He just shook his head and started picking the fruits up. I turn around to see Linda and she was gone again. I quickly ran straight and scanned the area. I kept going straight until I was at the edge of the v
Samantha Point of view I could felt the cold metal tip of the pistol on the skin of my forehead. I could hear the movement of his finger on the trigger. I expected something. For him to drop it or for the sound of the gunshot ringing in my ear but nothing has happened. I opened my eyes and I still see that the gun was still in position but when I looked at Rai, I see the struggle in his eyes. I blinked hard and fast. I let go of the breathe I was holding in and placed my hand on top of the gun carefully. "I trust you, Rai," I told him. I gulped when his eyes starts to shift to a cold stare. I extend my hand to touch his arm with one hand. "Rai, look at me. Look at me." I breathed in and out. "You can fight it. You don't have to kill me." Rai's eye twitches a little. His arm started to struggle to pull away but it doesn't. He was still fighting it. I could feel my heart beating out of my chest as I waited. I too
Samantha Point of view I sat beside Linda's body with my knees up to my chest and arms wrapped around my knees. Its been more than 30 minutes since I have stared at her lifeless body. I don't know what to do. I don't know how am I suppose to continue.I clamp my hands together then run my fingers through my messy hair. As I looked at the body, the way it was positioned and the angle I was looking at looked familiar. I realized that this was the same scene that I saw when I looked into Linda's memories. I choked back a sob. I covered my mouth to stop myself from crying again. I knew that in Linda's future, she would be dead. That was one of the reasons why I came to visit. I just didn't know that it would come this soon. I exhaled loudly and thought to myself, how am I supposed to move the body? How was I going to explain to them? I hear Rai coming up behind me and slowly lowered himself beside me. I glance
Samantha Point of view "That is," I stopped and shake my head to the side. "That is impossible. Do you think turning back time is that easy? Because if it was then people would have done it a thousand times. So what makes you think that you can?" I stepped back and shifted my weight one leg at a time. I had my thumb on my lips and thought long and hard if there is even a possibility but I shake my head again. "Even my mom, who is the keeper to the realm of time can barely even turn back time for 5 minutes." "I know it sounds impossible," he admits. I scoffed and nodded in agreement. No one in history turns time back. He takes a step back away from Linda's body. As I was about to my eyes lingered. I felt the pain again and I breathed in and out to focus on our conversation "It does," I remarked. I gulped when my eyes turned back to look at her body. "It really does." "But I have thought this through," he says
Samantha Point of viewI stared at him in disbelief. Does he not realize that finding that kind of keeper is rare. I asked, "How?"He frowns and answered, "My first kill was actually the keeper's daughter. I didn't know back then but when I met her again a few days ago, she told me that she was a keeper."I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at him confusedly. "She willingly told you? It's common knowledge that all keepers should keep a low profile, especially if you have no one by your side protecting you. Keepers would be vulnerable by themselves and that is why finding your protector is really important for us.Protectors are any supernatural beings that were born and assigned to a certain keeper. It is somehow like mates. Protector and Keepers feel an internal connection. Protectors would feel the urge and obligation to protect keepers while keepers would feel safe and trust their protectors instantly.
Samantha Point of view Before I went home, I made sure to wash the dirt and blood off my skin to grab less attention as I made my way home. I used the river in the woods to wash them on and I took the route in the woods. I know I said that I should be alone in the woods but I could not walk through the village with dirt and blood all over my clothes. I made sure to stick to the edge of the woods and watch out for anything suspicious. Thankfully, I made it back without being seen or attacked. I snuck in the house in case anyone was home but there wasn't anybody inside. I went straight to my room and then took a shower. I dressed in clean clothes and made sure to wash my clothes. My hands were shaking as I cleaned Linda's blood off my clothes. "Breath, Sam, breathe, " I told myself. I tried not to think about it too much but I failed. Flashbacks of Linda's death replayed themselves in my head. The sound of the gu
Samantha Point of viewMom sat there with her head in her hands, facing towards the table instead of me. She was trying to wrap her head around the fact that her old friend came back and sent her son to kill her daughter and has apparently creating experiments that were dangerous enought to kill us.We stayed like that in silence as I waited for her to speak. She sighed loudly and removed her hands from her face. She clamps her hands together and rests them flat on the table. She turns her head to me with more composure than the state she was in a few minutes ago. She asks me with a calming tone, "What else?"I sat there dumbfounded for a minute. I shook my head to find the words and said, "We need your help."As soon as I said those words, she sighed and looked down at our dining table. "Rai is the only one who knows Marcus' whereabouts so if we-""No," she immediately said. I blinked twice in shock at her response
