LOGINShe stood up slowly glaring hard at Nathan.
She hated him with all her guts.
Since Alicia knew him, her life had been nothing but a complete mess, she literally became a depressed lonely girl who wished for Nathan's love every minutes of her life.
Their girls night out was completely ruined since she met him and now that she wished to pick up the pieces and move on, this scum was here again.
Her eyes never left him as he glared back.
"How dare you show up here, get lost, I don't want Alicia to realize it's you." She voiced.
"What gave you the mind to take her out to a club?? She's my wife!"
"Your wife?? Can you say that again??"
"A girl you neglected for how many years of her life, even when you almost lost those stupid legs of yours, she stood by you and was never ready to give you up, did you appreciate any of it?? Instead, you maltreated her and treated her like a trash. Get the f*ck out of her life now and forever!" She yelled.
He wasn't ready to listen to her as he moved forward and grabbed Alicia off the floor.
"Go meet your mistress and leave her alone, your lover almost lost her life, what are you still doing here?"
With his tooth clenched, he flung opened the car door and shoved her in.
"Ow Lily, was he the man you were talking about? Are you sure he's good?" Alicia muttered, and then began sleeping.
When Emily knew she wasn't going to win, she insisted on taking her to her home where she got recently.
"Alicia have nothing to do in your house and will have to go to hers." Nathan scowled.
"Alicia doesn't have any home around you either, you called that pit of hell a home for her??" She fired back never ready to let him take her.
"Then we'll have to be in your house."
"What??"
"Yes, I can't trust you, you could sneak her back to a club again. Who knows, you could get her hooked up with a man as she said."
"And how does that concern you? you're getting divorced soon."
"We haven't divorced yet."
"Do as you wish then, you can sleep on the floor if you so wish to act like you love her today."
With that, they got into the car and drove off to Emily's house.
Before they got there, Alicia's stomach began hurting.
She turned around in the car until her head fell on Nathan's legs.
Emily smirked knowing what Alicia was about to do.
"What are you doing??" Nathan had on a panic expression.
"I have no other clothes here, don't try.."
He couldn't complete it as his nightmare came to pass. She puked into his legs.
The car became a smelling arena, Emily closed her nose.
"Aly that's gross." She spoke from a closed nose, while Nathan was making strong effort to not throw up, his neck vein was popping out from not breathing.
"Stop the car, stop the car!" He couldn't take it anymore but Emily wasn't ready to let him have a breathing space.
"We're almost there, what's the need to stop the car?"
He was almost at the verge of completely loosing his breath when the car suddenly came to a halt.
He ran out immediately.
"Yea we are here." Emily muttered and dragged Alicia up while Nathan stood still breathing profusely, looking at his clothes and feeling disgusted.
She had just ruined one of his favorite tuxedo wears.
He walked slowly along with them.
"Take the car home." He muttered sluggishly to his driver and walked in with them.
"You can have the couch." Emily voiced and dragged upstairs with Alicia. When he asked to help, Emily scolded him to not touch her friend once more.
When they were gone, he looked down at himself and sighed.
-------------
Alicia woke up to a severe headache she winced in pain.
Her eyes blurry, she blinked rapidly.
"Where am I??"
Her eyes darted off and she saw Emily standing infront of a mirror.
She wondered why they were in a room so different from any of their home.
"We didn't go home yesterday??" She muttered with her brows scrunched up.
"We're home Aly, this was supposed to be a surprised for you in a pleasant way but things happens.."
"What things happened??"
"That you'll have to find out this way."
"Find out what??"
"That I got a new house!" She beamed.
Alicia's eyes darted around vigorously.
"Lily you got a new house!"
"Yes!"
Her face held excitement.
They held each other screaming and jumping in circles.
Meanwhile Nathan heard a glimpse of their voice and rushed up stairs having negative thoughts, then he banged their door opened.
"What!" The both screamed in fear until they saw his face.
Alicia paused immediately, shock written all over her face, she wondered how he got here already.
"Aly, you know I wouldn't tell on you, he coincidentally found us and insisted to take you home but I didn't allowed him so he insisted on coming along."
"To do what?"
"Well, according to him, he was scared you could sneak back to a club again."
"What the f*ck?? As if you care! Please leave now."
She muttered and dashed out of the room,
Out of anger, she missed her steps and began falling down the stairs. When she was almost at the verge of hitting her head, a strong arm swiftly came beside her, and held her up.
She slowly opened her eyes, to see a blue eyes staring down at her face, the eyes she had adored all her life but always had coldness towards her.
But today, she could see something different in them, was it warmth? she doubted and swiftly sprung off from his arms.
"You should've let me fall!" She yelled and grazed her way to the kitchen.
Just then, the door bell rang.
She beckoned on the door and opened it, the one she met amused her.
She scoffed.
"What are you doing here?"
"Sorry for badging in on you Miss Alicia, Is Nathan with you??"
"{Wow, this lady really has got some nerves.}" Alicia thoughts, breathing in vigorously trying to suppress her anger.
She opened the door wide for her to see her oxygen.
She ran inside immediately and held him tight.
"Why did you leave me there?"
It took Nathan by surprise.
"How did you know I'm here?"
"I asked your driver." She muttered and pressed him more to herself.
"How are you feeling now?? What about your medications?" He asked delicately.
Anger was building at Alicia's guts now, but they weren't worth it, she was done with Nathan and would soon give him a divorce, what was there anymore, they should just do and get out.
But Nathan seemed to have something to say to her.
"Alicia," She raised her head towards him.
"Now that Andrea is here, I think you should apologize to her already."
Alicia couldn't believe it, she bite her lower lips in anger.
"Don't force her Nathan. I already forgave her." Andrea muttered never tired of gumming to Nathan's chest.
"Miss Alicia we just love each other, please let us be together and don't hurt me anymore, please?" She muttered in a soft tone that could gain anybody's sympathy.
Alicia scoffed.
"You see, she's not as cruel as you,." Nathan supported making her feel nauseous.
"Of course, I'm letting you be together.. of course, can you now get out of this place, this isn't even your home."
She pushed them out and locked the door while she scrunched down, drowning in so much tears.
"Let it be Aly, he's just a confused lunatic." Emily who had being watching from the stairs consoled her.
She sniffed in.
"Yea, I'm getting this divorce,"
"Yes baby, he deserves it."
"I'll no longer live like his scape goat."
"That's it, and now what are we going to eat??"
"No groceries, let's go get one!"
Emily dashed into the kitchen to get a bottle of water and staggered back when she opened the fridge. It was completely filled up.
"This crazy b*stard, what is he trying to prove."
"Lily are we not going anymore??" Alicia sprung into the kitchen and had her mouth opened wide as well.
"Thought you said no groceries??"
"Ah, yea.. I forgot I got them." She lied, hiding the fact that Nathan had got them, maybe when they were still sleeping.
"Okay.. let's get cooking!!"
When she opened a pot, there was a soup, a hangover soup precisely.
"Lily??" She questioned looking back at Alicia.
"Ow ow.. I made that earlier.." Emily muttered.
"Why do I feel you're lying to me? Was it Nathan?"
"Nope I prepared them all and you should forget about that jerk! look what he did just now."
"Yea I know, and I'm forgetting about him, even if he was the one that bought and prepared all this, I'll assume you did." She muttered and downed the soup. Indeed, hangover was killing her.
"I'll be leaving at noon."
"I'm sure it's not to Nathan's, am I right??"
"Of course Lily, I'm f*cking done with him, once we finalize the divorce, it's over."
"Then where else are you going?? why will you have to rent a hotel when you can just stay here?"
"I'm not renting a hotel, I'm going home Lily."
"What?" She had her brows raised up.
"Are you sure you can stay there?? You know your Dad who always get your back is no longer there."
"That's my home and I must go back there."
Alicia had lived with her Dad and stepmother since she was a kid, even though she seemed to not like her for a bit, her father was always there to support her and love her, but as soon as Alicia got married, her father died and the family was left with only her stepmother and stepsister who hated her just like her mother.
And now that her marriage had crumbled, she had nowhere else in mind but to go back home.
She believed it was her right to also be there, just like them.
They both hugged and she left.
But unfortunately, as soon as she got there, her stepmother got securities bundled her out of the gate before she could even get to the apartment.
She was left frustrated and dejected, until a car suddenly pulled beside her.
Even though Nathan wasn't sure what to do next, he gripped the edge of the staircase near the garden were he sat, already certain that Andrea was not making life any easier for him and he needed to do something about it. Frustration, anxiety and confusion washed him over. “But, Master Nathan! Are you really going to let Madam Alicia go just like that, without a fight? You're really going to sign those divorce papers?” Celine asked, her brows furrowed.Nathan only shrugged.“All these years I knew you, even while you were married to her. I never saw you like this,” Celine continued. “You always had your head held high like a king. She gave you peace and did not give any reason to doubt her unlike Andrea.”She hesitated then lowered her voice. “Pardon me, Master Nathan, but I must speak the truth. Madam Alicia was a good wife. She was faithful, hardworking, and always wanted to please you. Yet you continued seeing Andrea as your mistress. I was shocked when you eventually brought her i
Nathan's POVI spent the night in a restless haze, thinking of nothing else but the confrontation earlier. Andrea’s trembling words, her shaky denials, the faint crack in her story; it all replayed in my mind like a broken record. Celine had promised to arrange the test discreetly, and by morning I expected clarity. But by the time I returned to the living room, it was already morning, something felt… off.Andrea was sitting rigidly on the couch, her hands clasped tightly in her lap. My mother hovered nearby, brooding in that way that always made me uneasy. There was tension in the air, an undercurrent I couldn’t place at first.Celine stepped aside quietly, her expression was tight. She avoided looking at Andrea. My instincts screamed that something had shifted.I fixed Andrea with my gaze. “Where’s the test?” I asked, keeping my voice calm, but sharp as steel.Andrea’s lips parted, and then she looked away. Something in her posture was too rigid and too guarded and that made my hear
Nathan's POV“Hmmm….. We will see to that by tomorrow.” I scoffed.Andrea’s hands trembled at her sides. Her face was pale, her composure finally cracking like thin ice under pressure. My mother opened her mouth, probably to intervene, but I didn’t let her.“No Mother,” I said firmly. “Not now. Not ever again. I will hear the truth before anyone tries to soften it with speeches or blessings.”Andrea swallowed hard. “Nathan… you don’t have to—”“I do,” I interrupted, my voice low, almost a growl. “I want a DNA test. Blood. Whatever it takes. You’re not going to tell me stories anymore, Andrea. I will know for certain. This child, I will know then if it’s really mine.”Her lips parted, then trembled. “DNA? Now? Why…”“Because I can’t live with lies anymore. You left me, Andrea. You disappeared. You came back with a story about a child, about blessings, about reconciliation and I don’t know what’s real and what’s not.”She flinched at my words, but she didn’t deny them. That tiny silence
Nathan's POVI walked toward the private lounge cautiously, my footsteps soft against the polished floor. Steam still clung to me, my bath towel clinging to my chest, but I ignored it. I didn’t want to announce myself yet. I needed to see. I needed to hear.Through the slightly ajar door, I caught fragments of their conversation.“…Nathan has to forgive you,” my mother’s voice floated out, calm but insistent. “He must see this as a blessing. You’re carrying his child, he cannot turn away from that.”Andrea’s voice, low but tense, answered. “…I know, Mother. I just… I hope he doesn’t make this harder than it has to be. I… I want him to trust me.”The words were smooth, rehearsed, like a script delivered to convince someone who wasn’t fully buying it. My stomach turned.I pressed myself closer to the wall, my heart was hammering, my instincts screamed: She is hiding something. That quick twitch of fear in her voice, the way she said hope he doesn’t make it harder— it wasn't a worry over
Nathan’s POVHer words froze the room.“I know something,” Celine said again, her voice steady though her eyes betrayed a weight she carried.Andrea’s sobs faltered. My mother turned sharply toward Celine, her expression hardening. “What are you talking about?” she asked quickly, almost defensively.Celine stepped further into the sitting room. She was dressed plainly, her black gown hanging loose on her frail frame, but she carried herself with the same quiet authority she had when I was a boy. “Master Nathan,” she said softly, her eyes never leaving mine, “not everything is as it seems here.”Andrea shot up from her seat, her tears forgotten. “What nonsense is this? You come back from your leave and the first thing you do is try to poison Nathan’s mind against me? How dare you!”“Enough, Andrea,” I snapped, though my eyes stayed locked on Celine. “Celine, if you know something, say it.”My mother raised a hand, cutting in sharply. “Celine, this is not your place. You’re only making
Nathan's POVI stayed back in the office till past six. I told myself it was work, but really, it was the weight in my chest that kept me there. I thought about every move Alicia could be making, every decision she thought she would take without me, I felt it. And my greatest worry was planning a way to bring her back, even if she didn’t know it yet.The silence of the office felt safer than going home to questions I wasn’t ready for. The office had emptied hours ago. Cleaners were already done and the corridors were silent, the only sound was the dull hum of the air conditioner above me. I should have gone home, but I couldn’t. My desk had nothing new on it. My laptop screen glowed with reports I had read twice already. Still, I stayed, staring at the numbers without seeing them, letting the silence wrap around me.The truth was simple. I was overwhelmed. The weight of everything pressed down until I could barely breathe. Every time I thought of walking through my front door, my che
