Chapter 48: Shadows of the Abyss

Sasha and Alec stood in the dimly lit cavern, their hearts racing as they took in their surroundings. The air was thick with an oppressive stillness, broken only by the distant echoes of their breathing.

"We need to find a way out of here," Sasha whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of falling debris.

Alec nodded, his eyes scanning the cavern walls for any sign of a possible escape route. "There has to be a way," he said, his voice filled with determination. "We just have to keep looking."

As they moved deeper into the cavern, the darkness seemed to press in around them, casting long shadows that danced along the walls. With each step they took, the feeling of unease grew stronger, as if they were being watched by some unseen presence lurking in the shadows.
