Violet's POV (cont'd)
Although tears blurred my vision, I made sure my head never came up and I didn't sob. This was another of Kiara's rules for me— no matter how much it hurt or pained, I should never show it. I was expected to endure it silently.
And if I dared to sob or yelp, she doubled my pain.
"JUST SHUT UP!" She roared and spit on my head.
Some of the droplets of her spit touched my face. However, I held myself together and sat there quietly while the girls behind Kiara giggled. One of them, which is Benita, a neighboring alpha's illegitimate daughter, had her phone out— she was recording everything.
"Have you forgotten the rule: Don't speak unless you're asked to?" Kiara barked.
"N-no, I... I'm sorry." I gulped my tears and hoped this would end soon.
Getting humiliated in front of girls who once envied me for being confident and daring is more painful than getting stabbed twice. They whispered and laughed, they made fun of my clothes which are basically Kiara's old clothes.
Everything is banned on me— even basic human rights like good food and clothing. Since my title as alpha's daughter's soul sister is ripped from me and I'm termed as an ungrateful mate-snatching whoré, all I have to use is Kiara's used and disowned stuff.
"You're not going to get dinner today and breakfast tomorrow for disregarding my command." Kiara announced.
I internally sighed as it was an easier punishment. I was easily getting away. Much to my bad luck, Darci— Kiara's favorite maid's daughter turned into her new best friend aka minion in the mansion (who always envied me and wanted to replace me as her best friend) cleared her throat.
"Well, aren't you being kind, princess? I admire you for being merciful. She dared to defy you and you're still being nice to her. You inspire me." Darci fluttered her lashes admiringly, though I knew what she was trying to do.
She was indirectly telling Kiara that she was going easy on me. And no sooner did she say that than Kiara turned to me and said, "Three days. You won't get any food to eat for three days. Now clean this tea Darci spilled on the floor and get lost."
My eyes froze on the floor in amazement. So the reason I was asked to come in two minutes all the way from my new room was just to clean the tea Darci— a maid's daughter spilled?
Tears of self-loathing trickled down my eyes as I obeyed Kiara's command. Just when I was done, Lily, a daughter to a rich werewolf in the pack, who was also a good friend of Alpha Arnold waved her stilettos at me.
"Clean the sole of my shoes too. I walked on the spilled tea mistakenly."
Although my heart squeezed in agony and shame for the thing I was asked to do, I did it anyway.
Is there anything I can do to avoid it? No.
"Get lost now. I'll call you when I need you. Don't you dare keep me waiting!"
"Yes, Kiara." I answered quietly as she liked, and yet she growled disappointedly.
"It's princess for you, slút!" She connected another slap to my face which split open my bottom lip from the corner.
"Y-yes, Princess."
"That's better! Now take your ugly áss out of here!"
I dashed out of the room while holding my mouth and burst into tears the second the door closed. The breath I had been holding unknowingly came out as a gasp as I collapsed down on the floor.
"That was so entertaining, Kiara! I must say you're doing a good job of putting her in her place." I heard from the room.
The sound proofing isn't the best in Kiara's room. Not that it matters because no one is allowed to even mistakenly come wandering to this part of the mansion. As the Alpha's daughter and next Alpha to be, she enjoys extended privacy.
"You're right!" That was Benita's voice. "Kiara's kindness has made her too full of herself. She was beginning to believe she was a princess herself. But it's good to see her go back to where she belonged— at Kiara's feet."
Another one of them scoffed, “A true princess remains a true princess! No one can steal her throne.”
"Girls, she's still outside." Darci whispered.
"So what? Let her listen if she's still out there. It's not like we're doing anything wrong against her. She's a betrayer and she deserves all the humiliation. She can fúck off if she can’t stand the truth about her greedy ways." Kiara muttered angrily.
They continued to talk about me like I wasn't there. As they got deeper into the conversation, things became dirty and more humiliating. They were being shameless, giving Kiara suggestions on how she should punish me next.
"She likes to ride on a díck, right! If she crosses you again by ignoring your words or provoking you, just hand her over to the cruelest warriors in the pack. The ones who have monster cóck and high séx drive! They'll rip her pussy apart!" Darci suggested.
"I'll consider that." Kiara laughed while others appreciated Darci for her creative mind.
I felt like I was thrown into fire by them all. Getting up, I ran to my room and shut the door. Luckily, Neville was gone.
As I trudged to the mattress laid down on the floor near the window, I gazed around at the mess Neville created in response to my kick before leaving. He had spilled all the furniture and other stuff I've set back to create space for myself in the store room.
Yes, store room. I live in an attic store room now. Along with other things, Kiara snatched my room from me and threw me in the store room to stay. It had been in a very bad condition with a thick layer of dust everywhere. It was two inches thick and the air was too polluted to breathe.
There were cobwebs and what not. I cleaned everything and arranged all the stuff that was there by the wall to create space as I placed my mattress near the dormer window, which is low enough to let me gaze outside even while sitting.
It gives me a beautiful view of the garden, the streets outside the mansion's gate, the mountains and the woods covering the left side of the mansion.
A sigh of longing escaped me as I gaped at the woods.
It's been ten months since my seventeenth birthday but I haven't had a run yet, let alone shift. I never went out there because I was waiting for Kiara to come of age. We've promised to go for our first run together after her seventeenth birthday.
Pressing a hand on the glass of the window, I stared out there at the woods.
Woods... I stared at it without a blink.
I spent months waiting for Kiara’s birthday. I was loyal to her. What did she give me though? She accused me for deceiving her and tossed me in the dungeons, as she went to take her first run with Darci and the others after midnight.
Kiara carried on with her life like nothing happened whereas my life took a drastic turn after her birthday night.
My wolf was eternally paralyzed within my head. My room was taken away. My freedom was snatched from me. I was demoted to be an omega maid to Kiara.
Tears blinded my vision again. Why did this happen to me? What did I do to get this?
Is it always going to be like this? Will I always serve as Kiara's personal maid and endure humiliation and assaults?
Am I ever going to come out of this hell hole of agony? But I did nothing wrong. I wasn't the traitor. It was Ben, Kiara's mate.
More tears oozed out of my eyes because no one is going to believe me. No one is going to even try because he's the future Alpha's mate!
My head felt unbearably heavy and my body was completely drained. I reclined down and closed my eyes.
Although my heart tells me to comitt suicide and end it all for once and for all, I am clinging onto the weak rope of hope that's holding the broken pieces of my heart together. I have a feeling th at one day.... One day someone will come to save me.
My mate... will come to save me.

47Violet decided to ignore them initially. They weren't worth her time. She picked up the mop and started gliding it over the floor again, mercilessly avoiding them. The girls clenched their teeth. They shared a look as if Violet's silence was an insult to them. Benita hissed sharply and kicked the bucket, splashing water all over the floor. Her friends laughed as if she did a great thing. "Oops, I'm sorry! I lost my balance and accidentally kicked it." The girls laughed harder at the comment while Violet froze. Her eyes reddened with a surge of anger that she couldn't explain. Her fingers tightened around the shaft of the mop. Anxolia wasn't just giving her confidence, it was also fueling her emotions like rage, impulse and irritation. She tamped down her fury and let out a chuckle. She raised her eyes up at the girls, catching them off guard. "That's unfortunate, Benita. You look so fit and healthy, it's a shame your bones are actually so weak that you can't even stand up pro
46She checked herself out and raised her eyes smugly at her reflection. "Let's go to the library to read something." She put her bag on the right shoulder and turned the knob of the door. Violet bumped into someone and they both stumbled back with a wince. A loud thud echoed, followed by the splash of water like a bucket tipping over."Oww! My nose." She heard a cry. Although it hurt, the effect of anxolia made the pain less. Violet looked up and her lips upturned into a smile. It was the janitor girl, who helped her yesterday. "It's you. Hi, I was thinking about meeting you." Violet gushed. "Me too," The young woman opened her eyes, she was still rubbing her forehead. "But what are you doing here so early? School doesn’t start for another three hours yet. "I know. I just wanted to catch up on the syllabus. I was heading for the library. Let's go to the canteen now, though. I wanted to talk to you." Violet grasped her arm. "I have cleaning to do. I don't think..." "I'll help
45Violet stood quietly watching the school building under a bright blue sky. The air was fresh and cool. The sunshine was not prickly, it was rather very warm and ticklish like a soft caress. The birds were chirping excitedly as it was the early hours of the morning. No one had arrived yet. No one would because school was still four hours away from starting. But Violet came early. She had to or else she would have not been able to attend any lecture, let alone think of coming to school again. Her fingers tightened around the straps of her bag. She was nervous. There were lines on her forehead and her heart thudded like someone was hammering a nail into the wall. She gawked at the massive school building with her skin burning with goosebumps. "Alright, I've taken the first step. No one’s here yet and I can go about my work without the risk of being caught. I just need to be quick." She muttered and gulped the knot in her throat."Alright!" Violet took a deep breath and sprinted to t
44The clothes... Violet tugged at the hem of the top. It wasn’t hers. Neither were the pants. She had something else on her body when she left the mansion in the morning. But now, she had a completely different outfit on."Did mom notice? Should I tell her?" She pulled at the top, memories of how it came to her flashing back.Flashback...Blood. There was an unimaginable amount of blood on the tiles around Violet's body when she gained her senses back. She whimpered in terror as she touched her palms to her cheeks. Everything felt coarse, broken, out of place. She could feel the splinters of broken bones prodding her skin on the face. She could feel the prick under her fingers while her face was numb. Violet wept, unable to recall anything. She just remembered that she had been brutally punched in the face by Kiara, and then she passed out. Getting up from the bloody floor, Violet looked at herself in the mirror and seized her mouth in a vice-like grip to keep from screaming. Her fa
43Kiara reached home first given she threatened the driver to break all traffic rules and get her home quickly. This was her. All the time. She always pushed others to break the rules for her but when they got caught, she lectured them about discipline… Pretending she hadn't been the one who made them cross the line.Kiara jumped out of the car and bolted inside the mansion. She turned the corridors and stopped only when she was outside her father's room. She heard loud moans and her father's grunts but anyway she barged inside, catching Alpha Arnold off guard. "Aaahh!"While the maid he was pounding into let out a shriek and scrambled off the bed with the blanket around her body to hide herself, Alpha Arnold frantically searched for another piece of cloth he could use to cover himself."Uh, er, honey, you could've waited for me in my cabin. You didn't—""It's urgent, dad! We both can't afford to delay this conversation. It's about Violet." Kiara said as she clenched her fists."But
42"Oh no, what do I do?" Violet sweated profusely. Her chest stung from lack of proper breath as she was hyperventilating. She didn't want to, but her body was buzzing. All the memories of assault done by the men inside the mansion, or outside, came roaring back."No, please, no. Why now? Oh moon goddess! It's just the first lecture. I still have the whole day to go through." She sobbed.Violet splashed more water on her face. She checked here and there for any hidden lipstick or a compact powder. She wanted to hide that look of terror. She didn't want to be a prey."Please, Please..." She checked under the sink, behind the trashcan and even behind the hand drying machine. She was still frantically searching for a piece of broken lipstick or anything she could use when the door burst open. Violet ceased all motions. She battled to stand still but she failed
