Kook had been calling her a few times now, but she kept on ignoring his calls. She was not feeling up to talk to anyone, not even her brother.
She didn't sleep a wink last night. She kept on staring out to the city blankly. The advantage of being the owner of the building she lived in, she took the penthouse which is the most glamorous of all flats below hers.
She noticed the sun is starting to rise, she will have to get up and go to work. No matter what happened to her, she need to be professional and get to work.
She finally got up from her bed after feeling that is time and go to the bathroom to shower and hopefully, it would freshen her up.
After she was done getting ready and dressed in her formal attire, she grabbed a handbag and her car keys. She didn't forget to wear shades to hide her reddened and swollen eyes.
She made sure to not leave anything behind for one last time, then she walked up to the door. As soon as she opened the door, she stopped on her track and her head turned to the side.
"Have you been mopping my floor?" She asked. She saw him standing next to her door and who knows what kind of positions he did while he camped in front of her house.
"Jilly." He called out her name above a whispered and moved. He looked like a mess as he stood in front of her, but he still looked decent in his state. "Are you going to work?" He asked. Her clothes are not a determination of where she would go.
"Apparently." She replied. "Will you move? I have updated the list of people who can get into my building. So, once you're out, you can't get back in. Sorry for the convenience." She said, informing him of what she had decided.
"Everything has their own timing, right? It is my time to talk and you can't interrupt me until I'm done." He said, determined to make her listen.
"Who are you to tell me what to do?" She raised an eyebrow, challenging him.
"Your boyfriend." He replied confidently. She smirked up, seeing him still could speak so confidently about claiming.
"Well, from now on, you're not my boyfriend anymore. Just like you said, everything has their own timing. Our time is over." She made that clear to him, so he would stop and backed out.
"It is not. I have not accepted it. I won't." He shook his head, refused to agree with her.
"Isaiah, just give it up. Nothing will change what has torn my heart. I told you this before we started dating, I can never trust anyone and I could never trust you. But four years have passed and multiple times have I caught you with her. I felt like I was the one who wrecks your relationship with her. Nobody told me, but a secret is meant to be open up sooner or later." Jilly had given up on feeling emotions. She's tired of being used for her feelings. That was why she chose the job she had now.
No more strings attached and no more feelings.
"You're wrong. I have stopped loving her when I met you. That was even before we started dating. You caught my attention the most out of all women in the club. Jilly, Kathrine was my past and I admit that. But you are my future. There is no one who can fit your position better than you."
"I did sleep with her, but I would like to redeem myself to you. I was wrong and I am at fault. But Julliane, it was never wrong for me to love." He cupped one of her cheeks. His eyes have teared up. "Please,-" he couldn't even finish what he said before tears streaming down on his face
But instead, she leaned in and kissed him right on the lips. "Goodbye, Isaiah."
Then, she continued her walk towards the elevator. She took the elevator without a second glance. She kept her head held high despite being emotionally wrecked inside.
She had loved him for four years. She loved him sincerely, despite what she saw. She knew that he was always close with Kathrine. She found out and forgave him once. She found out twice and still forgave him. But then, she stopped loving him altogether when they started to get cozy and living like a couple who said they were only best friends.
She saved him many times and forgave him for the deed he did against her family's business.
"What's with the shades?" Kook asked his sister as she approached him in the lobby. He had been waiting for her to come down because he was forbidden to go up according to the new rules she sets and not informed him about.
"Nothing," Jilly replied plainly.
"What's with the new rules?"
"Nothing." Again, Jilly replied with the same ones.
Walking side by side, Kook had the opportunity to see her from the side. He frowned, noticed something is not right with her. He took off her sunglasses which caught her off guard.
"What the hell, Jilly? Are you trying to hide something from me? Did something happened?" Kook shots her with questions. Yesterday, he dropped her off looking fine. But today, she looked like a zombie.
"Nothing happened," Jilly replied in an emphasizing tone.
"Stop saying nothing. Something happened, so tell me. Did he do something to you? Don't look away from me." Kook gripped her chin, so she stayed looking at him. He was being concerned and she couldn't just act like that to him, her brother.
"I said, nothing happened! Stop looking at me like I can't take care of myself." Jilly finally exploded.
"I wouldn't care or interfere if it's about your work. But this... happened after I dropped you off." Kook pointed to her reddened eyes.
"Haven't you heard of insomnia, brother? That happened to those who couldn't sleep a wink. Can you just leave me alone if you're going to questioning me every five seconds ?" Jilly said in an irritated tone. She was angry to the point that she exploded at anyone that annoyed her. She was sad and her sadness turned into madness.
"You never had insomnia. You just never sleep." Kook muttered and continued to walk to avoid a fight with his sister. He would just let her be. If she had a problem, she would come up to him willingly or the problem will rise by itself.
Jilly had found their location and it was a bit odd because the location was in the coastal area. There was no call or message after Cayne called, which was even weirder. It was the first time she handle this kind of kidnapping. They went silent with no clue at all. So, she decided to handle this lightly and go with Marco, just the two of them.“Do you have friends in this area, Jilly?” Marco asked. They have reached their destination in the coastal area.“Not that I recall,” she said and sigh out of uncomfortable. “I don’t like meeting like this.”“Then, do you want to go back around and make a plan?” He raised his eyebrow in question.“That is a waste of the trip and I need to get my daughter fast. I would have made a plan and taken my time if it was only him getting kidnap but Grace was also with him. A kid would have trauma when experiencing bad things they remember,” she said seriously. After being a mother, she considered a lot of things.“Kidnapping has not been this easy and s
Jilly, Mariah, and Marcus were waiting for Marco for dinner. While Jilly was enjoying Mariah’s angst, Marcus was stiffly sitting on his seat afraid of her outburst. When he first got home, Mariah was giving him an earful about guiding Marco the right way. Right there and then, he knew Jilly must have been talking about Marco and told her everything he try to hide from her. He didn’t want her to find out for a reason, because he doesn’t want to stress her out about him.Marcus was tapping his finger on the table and shaking his foot in the air under the table. Jilly turned to look at him who looked unknowingly unconscious, she smirk at him. Marcus caught her smirking at him from his sightline and then he glare at her for putting him in this position.“Are you happy now, Julliane? Are we your laughing stock?” Jilly pouted to Marcus for being so mean to her. Her mood had livened up because of them, she admitted that.“Marco are, not you. But, if you feel that way then I’ll be grateful.”
Jilly was waiting at the airport for her baby's arrival from New York. She missed her badly and couldn’t wait to hold her in her arms. She was waiting by herself in the lounge of the private airport. She furiously typed on her phone, answering to many emails which were waiting for her response.“The plane is landing, Ma’am,” a staff informed her as the jet was on its way down. She put her phone down and thanked him before looking outside where she saw the jet going down. She stood up and walk out to greet her right off the jet. She was standing at a safe distance waiting for the engine to die down. She was excited to greet her under the stair but when she saw Mark walking out on his own, she got confused. She looked at him with a raised eyebrow, silently asking him where her daughter was. When Mark got down and before she could scold him, another person appeared in the doorway. She saw Cayne along with Grace standing there ready to make their way down the stairs.“What are you doing?”
Luca came back to Jilly’s spot along with Lyan which confused her. They waited for Jilly to be done with her session because it was her right to have the time. The three men stood behind her as they wait, Marco was kind of in an awkward position there. Nobody was talking and beside him was Lyan Bargin, a former enemy unofficial line.Seeing Jilly was done with her session, Marco came forward to help her with the boy. He took the bow from her so she could talk comfortably with her guest.“I thought you were going to give me a tour? I reserved a solo, not a group.” She glanced at Lyan who come unexpectedly.“My apologize, Miss. Vantes. Mr. Bargin wants to see you in person.” He pointed at Lyan who still silently standing next to him. Jilly looked at him with a sinister look and ask what he want from her this time.“Do you like the archery place?” Lyan stepped forward to finally talk to her. While she was here, he wanted to impress her, and maybe that could change her mind. “I’ll give yo
While her daughter was out of the country, Jilly tried to do something she had never done in a long time. She even drove out of the town to find the perfect shooting range, not guns but archery. She tried it once, so she wanted to give her skill a try after a long time.“Welcome to the WiArchery,” a male worker greeted Jilly as she approach the front desk. The archery range was huge and in a winery field, so that combination was what attract the shooters to come. Everyone could come but amateur beginner was not recommended since the range was prepared for someone who knows archery at least the intermediate level.“I called yesterday, thank you for making a slot for me.” Jilly shook hands with him. She knew the reputation of this archery range, they didn’t take sudden or on-the-spot customers.“We don’t usually do this but since you said you don’t have much spare time, we took you into our available spot.”“It was very much appreciated,” she replied.“This way, I’ll lead you to the sto
Around lunchtime Kook finally brought Grace to meet his father. She spent the entire morning with him and Katherine. She took care of Grace wholeheartedly, he love seeing that but to have a child of their own, he didn’t think he was ready enough for that. That topic never came up in their conversation or life nor did someone ask about it to them. They had lived live comfortably and would continue to do so.Since the bar was not an appropriate place for them to meet, Kook actually didn’t tell Cayne that Grace was coming but he did ask Lincoln if Cayne was home. He said that he barely come outside during daylight. He also came out only to the bar which was at night. Kook didn’t know what kind of lifestyle he was doing but he better does good for Grace.Kook knocked on the front door of his house and waited for him to open up.Cayne opened the door and was totally shocked when he saw Kook standing there with Grace and also Mark with them. Cayne was literally just woke and still have diff
