Kook had been calling her a few times now, but she kept on ignoring his calls. She was not feeling up to talk to anyone, not even her brother.
She didn't sleep a wink last night. She kept on staring out to the city blankly. The advantage of being the owner of the building she lived in, she took the penthouse which is the most glamorous of all flats below hers.
She noticed the sun is starting to rise, she will have to get up and go to work. No matter what happened to her, she need to be professional and get to work.
She finally got up from her bed after feeling that is time and go to the bathroom to shower and hopefully, it would freshen her up.
After she was done getting ready and dressed in her formal attire, she grabbed a handbag and her car keys. She didn't forget to wear shades to hide her reddened and swollen eyes.
She made sure to not leave anything behind for one last time, then she walked up to the door. As soon as she opened the door, she stopped on her track and her head turned to the side.
"Have you been mopping my floor?" She asked. She saw him standing next to her door and who knows what kind of positions he did while he camped in front of her house.
"Jilly." He called out her name above a whispered and moved. He looked like a mess as he stood in front of her, but he still looked decent in his state. "Are you going to work?" He asked. Her clothes are not a determination of where she would go.
"Apparently." She replied. "Will you move? I have updated the list of people who can get into my building. So, once you're out, you can't get back in. Sorry for the convenience." She said, informing him of what she had decided.
"Everything has their own timing, right? It is my time to talk and you can't interrupt me until I'm done." He said, determined to make her listen.
"Who are you to tell me what to do?" She raised an eyebrow, challenging him.
"Your boyfriend." He replied confidently. She smirked up, seeing him still could speak so confidently about claiming.
"Well, from now on, you're not my boyfriend anymore. Just like you said, everything has their own timing. Our time is over." She made that clear to him, so he would stop and backed out.
"It is not. I have not accepted it. I won't." He shook his head, refused to agree with her.
"Isaiah, just give it up. Nothing will change what has torn my heart. I told you this before we started dating, I can never trust anyone and I could never trust you. But four years have passed and multiple times have I caught you with her. I felt like I was the one who wrecks your relationship with her. Nobody told me, but a secret is meant to be open up sooner or later." Jilly had given up on feeling emotions. She's tired of being used for her feelings. That was why she chose the job she had now.
No more strings attached and no more feelings.
"You're wrong. I have stopped loving her when I met you. That was even before we started dating. You caught my attention the most out of all women in the club. Jilly, Kathrine was my past and I admit that. But you are my future. There is no one who can fit your position better than you."
"I did sleep with her, but I would like to redeem myself to you. I was wrong and I am at fault. But Julliane, it was never wrong for me to love." He cupped one of her cheeks. His eyes have teared up. "Please,-" he couldn't even finish what he said before tears streaming down on his face
But instead, she leaned in and kissed him right on the lips. "Goodbye, Isaiah."
Then, she continued her walk towards the elevator. She took the elevator without a second glance. She kept her head held high despite being emotionally wrecked inside.
She had loved him for four years. She loved him sincerely, despite what she saw. She knew that he was always close with Kathrine. She found out and forgave him once. She found out twice and still forgave him. But then, she stopped loving him altogether when they started to get cozy and living like a couple who said they were only best friends.
She saved him many times and forgave him for the deed he did against her family's business.
"What's with the shades?" Kook asked his sister as she approached him in the lobby. He had been waiting for her to come down because he was forbidden to go up according to the new rules she sets and not informed him about.
"Nothing," Jilly replied plainly.
"What's with the new rules?"
"Nothing." Again, Jilly replied with the same ones.
Walking side by side, Kook had the opportunity to see her from the side. He frowned, noticed something is not right with her. He took off her sunglasses which caught her off guard.
"What the hell, Jilly? Are you trying to hide something from me? Did something happened?" Kook shots her with questions. Yesterday, he dropped her off looking fine. But today, she looked like a zombie.
"Nothing happened," Jilly replied in an emphasizing tone.
"Stop saying nothing. Something happened, so tell me. Did he do something to you? Don't look away from me." Kook gripped her chin, so she stayed looking at him. He was being concerned and she couldn't just act like that to him, her brother.
"I said, nothing happened! Stop looking at me like I can't take care of myself." Jilly finally exploded.
"I wouldn't care or interfere if it's about your work. But this... happened after I dropped you off." Kook pointed to her reddened eyes.
"Haven't you heard of insomnia, brother? That happened to those who couldn't sleep a wink. Can you just leave me alone if you're going to questioning me every five seconds ?" Jilly said in an irritated tone. She was angry to the point that she exploded at anyone that annoyed her. She was sad and her sadness turned into madness.
"You never had insomnia. You just never sleep." Kook muttered and continued to walk to avoid a fight with his sister. He would just let her be. If she had a problem, she would come up to him willingly or the problem will rise by itself.
At night, Jilly and Kook visited Isalit bar. They are regularly checking the business, not for the bar but for what's happening around and in the bar. It's not just a nightclub, transactions always happened day and night.Since they merged their business not long ago, Jilly or Kook always tried to visit and checked by themselves.Jilly is served her usual drink, Cosmopolitan."Can you get me three shots of vodka and two of tequila, Alex?" Jilly asked the bartender who is close to her. Because Alex was quick and neat. Something that Jilly likes in a person to work with. Even though he's not working for her."For sure." He replied and poured the vodka and tequila into shot glasses right away. Then, he laid them out in front of her.
"Are you awake?" A manly voice asked a sleeping Jilly who woken up from her beauty sleep."Hmm." Jilly hummed. She slept peacefully on the soft and comfortable bed. She loved his bed too much. The bed is just like the one they used to sleep on when they were kids."Do you enjoy my bed so much than my presence?" He asked and let out a chuckled."Yes," Jilly replied hoarsely, typical someone who just woke up."If I have a girlfriend, she will be mad seeing you in my bed and enjoying it way too much." He said, still keeping an eye on Jilly whose wrapped in a blanket."Well, too bad Mr. Almighty, you have none," Jilly replied sarcastically. She sat up slowly and stretched her body. "Ah..
It's been two weeks since Jilly stayed in Italy with Marco. But now, it's time for her to go home. She couldn't keep her work on hold for long."Will you come with me?"-Jilly had arrived in New York. The first thing she goes to is the bar. Her brother texted her, saying that if she could come down to check on the delivery for today. He couldn't make it due to a job in another state. She would love to go home, but she missed working already as the New York air hits her nostril. The taxi dropped her off in front of the entrance. The truck usually goes to the back as they unloaded. The bar is closed and very quiet as usual. They would get crowded once the night hits.
"You came." Jilly smiled as she opened the door for him to let him into her house. She had told the receptionist that she is expecting a guest to come, so he should be passed without questioning. "Of course, I made a promise." Marco stepped into her house. He came with only himself and the clothes he was wearing. That should not be a problem, because he could always buy a new pair of clothes or if he preferred, he could walk around naked. "Will you go so soon?" Jilly asked. She was closer to Marco than she was to Kook, her sibling by blood. "We will have to see about that later. I am staying, but I can't promise to stay for long. Is that okay?" Marco ruffled the top of her head. He gave her a loving smile and strode towards the guest room where he usually stayed whenever he visited
"What?" Cayne was left mindblown yet again. "Well then, have fun fighting for her with that brother of mine." Jilly moved past him and walked as fast as she could to get to the car. "Jilly." He called for her, but she didn't even give him a second glance. She was hurt, more than hurting. If she could just put her pain into words, her heart wouldn't be bleeding from the pain. - Six months have passed, Jilly was nowhere near New York. Cayne had been struggling to keep up with his business. If it's not for his brother who stepped up, his business might have crumbled down. For a while, his bother had taken over everything. Lincoln had no experience running a nightclub. His business
Jilly and Kook stood in front of Katherine's house. Kook looked uncomfortable, he turned to Jilly to make sure for the last time."Are you sure we're doing this in her house?" Kook asked. He never did an execution in someone's house, especially his staff. He rarely ever get his hands dirty."Very sure, Kook. Are you afraid to find something you are not ready for?" Jilly taunted him. She knew what was going on with him and Katherine. Whoever she was going to hurt in the process of hurting Cayne, those are not her responsibilities."I fuck her. That doesn't make her my girlfriend." Kook was not a jealousy type. He will get jealous of those he cares about. With Katherine, he was just not there yet."But you have a thing for her. So, brac
"I don't, baby." Cayne replied strongly. He doesn't want to repeat the past, ever. He had tasted the wrath of Julliane Bakerhubb. Never, ever he wanted to face her again."Then stop playing around and do your job precisely." Jilly sternly said to put him in his place. She never once lowered her gun which was pointing at the back of his head."I just wanted to see you. I missed you." Cayne said what he intended to say. Jilly wanted to laugh so hard when she heard that."Do I wanted to see you? I've been gone for a reason. One and clearly to be away from you. I would never want to see myself as a third wheel anymore. I am so done with you, Isaiah. If I could, I would kill you so I don't have to see your face again." As bitter as she was towards him, she would never kill the man she once loved.Aware of the gun on the back of his head, he needed to be fast to avoid an unwanted fire. He moved his head to
Jilly wanted to go back on the plane right away. But, Marco asked to stay the night because he was going to meet someone around the neighborhood, as in the next town. So, the next day, Jilly stayed home as Marco went away for his business. She was not afraid to leave everything behind, she never felt tied down to the place she lived in right now, not even for her family. She ordered breakfast because she doesn't want to leave dirty dishes. She was leaving not just because she wanted to, but for a side job as well. She knew who would come to her door to deliver the food. He would take the opportunity to come to her door. When the doorbell rang, she walked to the door to get her food. Expect the expected, she just knew it."I didn't know
