Jilly walked in the corridor with her hands behind her back clasped together. The clicking sound of her heels could be heard loudly in the empty corridor. She is always the type of woman who wears heels and a mini skirt, to work or in daily life. She had found herself when she established her work.
She was walking to Katherine's house to get some work which she told her to do. She stopped in front of her door and about to knock when the door is being opened from the inside.
To her surprise, she found Cayne opening the door of Katherine's. She was surprised, but she masked it well. But Cayne is a different story, the surprise was shown all over his face.
"Jilly, I didn't know you're in town." Cayne said in stammered. He let go of the door handle and gulped hardly. What a stupid thing to say, he scolded himself.
"Am I not allowed to be here?" She asked him back. Her facial of no emotion made him think that he is doomed. Well, maybe he is.
Trust. One word, one thing that had not developed in her.
"Is Katherine inside? I need to get some work from her." She asked but didn't wait for him to answer, but she doesn't need his answers as well. She walked past him, avoiding any touch with him even just a little.
"Jilly." A surprised Katherine tightened her silk bathrobe around her naked body unconsciously. She just got done showering and wonder if Jilly saw Cayne on the way.
"Why is everyone so surprised today? Am I a deadman? Did I scare you that much?" Jilly asked, looking at her face. She doesn't need to see her body below to know what was happening.
"Everyone?" Katherine asked, hoping that she wasn't meant to say, Cayne.
"Cayne was." She shrugged her shoulders carelessly. Kathrine choked on her saliva as she mentioned Cayne. Jilly didn't mind her and asks for something she came for.
"Give me the copy of the transactions for this month and my missed calls and emails." Jilly ordered her as she is an assistant slash a staff working under her brother. That's how Katherine can afford an apartment where she lives in.
"Be right back." Kathrine obediently nodded her head and didn't dare to speak out of context.
Kathrine scurried out to get the things Jilly asked for, leaving Jilly standing by herself in the middle of her house. There's nothing that caught her eyes in Katherine's house as it is like an average house in the building.
When she felt her hand being grabbed, she immediately moved it away. But she was not fast enough. She turned her head around and saw Cayne was the one who grabbed her hand.
She shot him a hatred look that spoke her feelings.
"Jilly." His voice sounded like begging, but Jilly didn't fall for that so easily. He let go of her hand but was going to hug her. As he let go of her hand, she put on a guard up. She stopped him from coming any closer to her.
"Hurry up, Kathrine!" Jilly yelled out. What took her so long just to get the papers?
A well-dressed Kathrine walked out with papers in her hands. She handed them to Jilly and she took them without giving her another glance. She walked out of her house and made her way up to her own house.
She hated that she had to use the elevator to get up to her floor. She could hear his footsteps following her. She wanted to tell him to stop, but if she spoke, she's afraid that she will break and she will not break in front of him. She hated being vulnerable, she hated it the most.
They got into the elevator and ride it in silence. Cayne stood beside her quietly while looking at her now and then.
As the elevator dinged, she was ready to walk and hoped to leave him behind. She saw him moved, but decided to ignore him.
She should have not done that, because it caused trouble. He pressed a pause button, so the doors of the elevator won't open. Then, he came to stand in front of her.
"Talk to me, please." Cayne brought his hand up and touched her cheek which she immediately reacted by moving away. "Baby."
"Move." He wanted her to talk, she spoke. "You're wasting my time, Isaiah." She said, looking back at him with strong eyes. "I have a lot of work to do rather than talking to you." She continued.
"Am I not worth your time?"
"No." She replied without a pause and she said it so strongly. "Oh, if you want to see your girlfriend, you better see her somewhere else. You're on the blacklist from now on."
"I can't see you here?" He asked in a hurtful tone and dumbfounded.
"Isaiah... your girlfriend is not me." Jilly pressed her finger on his chest. She pressed it real hard and he didn't seem to flinch or got hurt by that. "But her." She finished her sentence.
"What are you talking about, Jilly? My girlfriend is only you." Cayne denied the fact that she spoke about herself like that.
"Don't play dumb in front of me, Isaiah. Do you think I didn't know what you have been doing behind my back? I should have dig deeper. First love never dies, is it?" Jilly raised her eyebrow and she let out a chuckled of bitterness.
He is stunned and stiffened. She took that opportunity to slip out of him. She pressed a button to open the doors of the elevator and she did it successfully. She left him alone to think about his actions and what he wants or needs.
It hurt her that no matter how long they have been together, he will always come back to his first love. He might love Jilly, but that doesn't stop him from being in love with his first love even though his first love has had a new partner. This is what so-called scandalous relationships.
Before she walked into her house, she stopped just to give a last glance. She glanced to the elevator and their eyes meet. At that moment, she let her tears came down freely.
How could she love someone who is in love with another woman and how could she ignore that for so long?
"Be happy with someone you should, Cayne." She wished him sincerely. Even though it came out only as mimicked to him, he caught it.
He couldn't, he can't lose her.
Seeing her still standing by the door, Cayne determined to fix them. He jogged up to reach her, but she closed the door just before he could reach her.
"Jilly, please." He banged on the door, hoping she would open it for him for one last time. "Baby." He called in desperately and placed his head on the door hopelessly.
Jilly had found their location and it was a bit odd because the location was in the coastal area. There was no call or message after Cayne called, which was even weirder. It was the first time she handle this kind of kidnapping. They went silent with no clue at all. So, she decided to handle this lightly and go with Marco, just the two of them.“Do you have friends in this area, Jilly?” Marco asked. They have reached their destination in the coastal area.“Not that I recall,” she said and sigh out of uncomfortable. “I don’t like meeting like this.”“Then, do you want to go back around and make a plan?” He raised his eyebrow in question.“That is a waste of the trip and I need to get my daughter fast. I would have made a plan and taken my time if it was only him getting kidnap but Grace was also with him. A kid would have trauma when experiencing bad things they remember,” she said seriously. After being a mother, she considered a lot of things.“Kidnapping has not been this easy and s
Jilly, Mariah, and Marcus were waiting for Marco for dinner. While Jilly was enjoying Mariah’s angst, Marcus was stiffly sitting on his seat afraid of her outburst. When he first got home, Mariah was giving him an earful about guiding Marco the right way. Right there and then, he knew Jilly must have been talking about Marco and told her everything he try to hide from her. He didn’t want her to find out for a reason, because he doesn’t want to stress her out about him.Marcus was tapping his finger on the table and shaking his foot in the air under the table. Jilly turned to look at him who looked unknowingly unconscious, she smirk at him. Marcus caught her smirking at him from his sightline and then he glare at her for putting him in this position.“Are you happy now, Julliane? Are we your laughing stock?” Jilly pouted to Marcus for being so mean to her. Her mood had livened up because of them, she admitted that.“Marco are, not you. But, if you feel that way then I’ll be grateful.”
Jilly was waiting at the airport for her baby's arrival from New York. She missed her badly and couldn’t wait to hold her in her arms. She was waiting by herself in the lounge of the private airport. She furiously typed on her phone, answering to many emails which were waiting for her response.“The plane is landing, Ma’am,” a staff informed her as the jet was on its way down. She put her phone down and thanked him before looking outside where she saw the jet going down. She stood up and walk out to greet her right off the jet. She was standing at a safe distance waiting for the engine to die down. She was excited to greet her under the stair but when she saw Mark walking out on his own, she got confused. She looked at him with a raised eyebrow, silently asking him where her daughter was. When Mark got down and before she could scold him, another person appeared in the doorway. She saw Cayne along with Grace standing there ready to make their way down the stairs.“What are you doing?”
Luca came back to Jilly’s spot along with Lyan which confused her. They waited for Jilly to be done with her session because it was her right to have the time. The three men stood behind her as they wait, Marco was kind of in an awkward position there. Nobody was talking and beside him was Lyan Bargin, a former enemy unofficial line.Seeing Jilly was done with her session, Marco came forward to help her with the boy. He took the bow from her so she could talk comfortably with her guest.“I thought you were going to give me a tour? I reserved a solo, not a group.” She glanced at Lyan who come unexpectedly.“My apologize, Miss. Vantes. Mr. Bargin wants to see you in person.” He pointed at Lyan who still silently standing next to him. Jilly looked at him with a sinister look and ask what he want from her this time.“Do you like the archery place?” Lyan stepped forward to finally talk to her. While she was here, he wanted to impress her, and maybe that could change her mind. “I’ll give yo
While her daughter was out of the country, Jilly tried to do something she had never done in a long time. She even drove out of the town to find the perfect shooting range, not guns but archery. She tried it once, so she wanted to give her skill a try after a long time.“Welcome to the WiArchery,” a male worker greeted Jilly as she approach the front desk. The archery range was huge and in a winery field, so that combination was what attract the shooters to come. Everyone could come but amateur beginner was not recommended since the range was prepared for someone who knows archery at least the intermediate level.“I called yesterday, thank you for making a slot for me.” Jilly shook hands with him. She knew the reputation of this archery range, they didn’t take sudden or on-the-spot customers.“We don’t usually do this but since you said you don’t have much spare time, we took you into our available spot.”“It was very much appreciated,” she replied.“This way, I’ll lead you to the sto
Around lunchtime Kook finally brought Grace to meet his father. She spent the entire morning with him and Katherine. She took care of Grace wholeheartedly, he love seeing that but to have a child of their own, he didn’t think he was ready enough for that. That topic never came up in their conversation or life nor did someone ask about it to them. They had lived live comfortably and would continue to do so.Since the bar was not an appropriate place for them to meet, Kook actually didn’t tell Cayne that Grace was coming but he did ask Lincoln if Cayne was home. He said that he barely come outside during daylight. He also came out only to the bar which was at night. Kook didn’t know what kind of lifestyle he was doing but he better does good for Grace.Kook knocked on the front door of his house and waited for him to open up.Cayne opened the door and was totally shocked when he saw Kook standing there with Grace and also Mark with them. Cayne was literally just woke and still have diff
