Thalia's pov

I turned on the soft bed, the covers wrapping my body tightly. Goodness, the bed felt heavenly. I could stay on it all day without feeling guilty.

But the dim light penetrating from the curtains made it very difficult for me to go back to sleep. At the end of the day, I had to force myself awake.

I groaned, trying to sit up while my head banged up pretty hard. What happened? I couldn't remember.

"There is a hangover soup on the bed stand. You should drink some while it is warm." A deep voice called out.

My hands reached out to the bed stand. I was halfway round the contents in the cup when reality dawned on me. Who owned the voice? Surely, it didn't sound familiar enough for me to figure it out within that short minute.

I turned my head towards the direction where the voice came from. My eyes widened at the half opened chest of a gorgeous being I have never seen before.

I took my eyes off it. They roamed around the room instead. White bed covers. Definitely not my matrimonial bed. Black curtains and a black sleek floor. All of a sudden, it started flooding into my head.

Last night, I drove to a club. I wanted to forget about my pain for a while and ended up drinking too much. A strange man came to keep me company. That was the part my memory decided to stop.

My hands flew to the covers around me as I lifted it up. My clothes were intact. But what if they were worn right after –

"We – we didn't do anything right?" I asked, turning to the man.

He stared at me confusingly before a chuckle escaped his lips. For the love of God, I was just noticing his face. A little bit oval but sharp. He was quite different from Eirik.

"We didn't do anything." He responded.

But I wasn't listening. Remembering Eirik, I picked up my phone. It was past 2pm. He should have called if he didn't see me in the house. At least, by that, I would know he was worried about me and probably has me in his heart.

I clicked my phone open. No missed calls. My other hand clenched and tightened into a fist. No calls from my so-called husband. That meant he hadn't returned to the house with Ianth. I bit my lips, trying to contain my anger.

"Who are you? How did I end up in your room?" I asked, turning my attention back to the man standing a few meters away from me.

He picked up a mug from the table, raising it to his lips. "What is the point of explaining when you don't remember anything?"

"I didn't say any weird thing last night right?" I muttered.

But my questions were met with silence. It was enough proof to see that the man in front of me doesn't like to talk. How did I end up in the same room with someone like that?

Luckily, my clothes were intact. I stood up from the bed, putting on my heels. It was time to leave. I opened my purse and pulled out some dollar bills.

"That's for taking care of me and listening to my nonsense last night." I dropped the bills on the bed and walked out.

There was no time to study his expression but I heard his scoff when I walked out. We had no business together anymore. That was a thank you for bearing with my nonsense last night.

I found my car and drove back home immediately. The house was quiet. Too quiet. No one has come home since last night.

"Madam!" Anna scurried towards me, checking me out. "We have looked everywhere for you. We had no idea you went out." She said,

I shook my head. "I am fine, Anna. Did Eirik come back home?" I asked.

"He came home this morning...two hours ago. He left again after a few minutes." Anna explained.

My eyes narrowed. Eirik came to the house and left again? "Did he forget something? What about Ianth?"

"I haven't seen the young master since yesterday morning. About the master – I am not sure if he actually forgot something." She replied.

I nodded in understanding. They must be with Mirelle. It was almost evening. Who knows if they would come home tonight or they still wanted some more time on vacation with Mirelle, their new found love?

My heart ached. I swallowed, trying to pull myself together. "When they are back, inform me. I will be in the room." I told Anna who bowed respectfully.

For a minute, I didn't regret losing myself in the club last night or else, I would have looked miserable today. I would have suffered from insomnia, trying to take my thoughts off my husband seeing another woman.

I showered and adjusted in a comfy dress. There wasn't much to do. I picked up my phone and started scrolling. My fingers stopped at a particular name.

Dad. Mr Orleans. The man who loved me deeply.

But I betrayed his love by running off with Eirik. None of my family members attended my wedding. They all refused Eirik as my husband. They didn't like him.

I was adamant. I thought the only important thing was for us to love each other. I didn't receive my parents ' blessings on my wedding day. My father cut ties with me because he was heartbroken. I went against him.

Was it too early to regret? But I didn't understand what went wrong. Where was the Eirik I married? How did my once happy marriage turn into spikes that pierced my heart every single day?

The sound of my ringing phone jolted me out of thoughts. Eirik.

"Hello." My voice was low as I placed the phone on my ear.

"Thalia, where have you been?" Eirik snapped on the phone.

A frown creased my forehead. "Am I not supposed to be asking you that question?" I fired back.

Since last night, he hasn't told me where he was going or where he was taking our son. I saw a picture of him in Mirelle's bed. I haven't taken it up with him and the first thing he asked when he called after twenty four hours was the silly question?

"Come to the hospital quickly. Ianth needs you!" The line went dead.

  • My Husband, My Son, My Betrayal    Bad clubbing

Thalia's povThe loud music made things worse. The entire room blurred at my sight. "Two more...." I shouted at the bartender. He hurriedly poured two shots for me which I pushed down my throat at once.No one told me things like this exist or probably it was something I hadn't been interested in until today. A beautiful club.I couldn't get over the blue and red lights that radiated around the space. Strippers danced in front of the poles while men spent their money on them. Those girls would be earning thousands of dollars.I chuckled, taking in another shot. As much as the alcohol tasted like a mix of bitter and pepper, I loved it. It kept me insane, other than the days I tried to be sane.My husband was with his mistress. Why couldn't I be here too? Who said I can't enjoy myself a little too? All my life, I have lived in his house. I took care of him and our child. What did I get in return? Every second betrayal."That's enough." A cold voice rang in my ears. His slender hands pu

Thalia's povI forced my eyes open. White ceiling. Blue walls. Transparent white curtains. What happened? There was no one to ask. The room was empty. I struggled to sit up on the bed. The flashbacks came. I made a lavish dinner. Ianth asked about Mirelle and got angry.A dull pain hit my head and hands. They were bandaged tightly. I remembered bleeding and I went unconscious. The door opened and Anna, one of the maids in the house, came in. She walked inside with a basket of food. "Madam!" Her face beamed with smiles as soon as she saw me awake."What happened, Anna? Why am I here?" I asked, trying to adjust my stiff neck."We saw you in the dining room. Everywhere was filled with broken pieces of plates and blood. That was why we brought you to the hospital." She explained. My mouth parted in surprise. "We? Where is my husband and my son?" I questioned. Why weren't they here? I expected to see my family beside me in the room.Anna bowed a little, her eyes roaming around, probabl

Thalia's Pov My heart weighed heavily as I waited for their arrival. Evening came and the front door opened.Mirelle walked in with Eirik, holding hands with him but when he saw me, he let go hesitantly. Meanwhile, Ianth clung to Mirelle like she was his lifeline. She dropped him to the ground from her hands and held his hand. They laughed like one big family as the group chat from earlier described. The scene unfolded like a short movie clip in front of my very own eyes. Everything confirmed all my fears.I heaved a sigh, trying to control my anger. I still needed to know about the photo that I saw. "Sweetheart..." I called Ianth, walking closer to him.Ianth dodged me immediately. My fragile heart dropped to the ground. I ignored it again. He was just a child. He barely knows what he is doing.I pulled Eirik into our room. "Why didn't you let me pick up my son?" I demanded from him. My voice was low and tense."You were busy. I had things to sort out at the office too. Mirelle offe

  • My Husband, My Son, My Betrayal    Secret picture

Thalia's Pov"What's wrong?" Eirik asked, following me into his study.I was hurt and heartbroken. The Anniversary surprise I planned had been ruined right before it started. I wanted clarity. I wanted to know what was going on and most importantly, when Mirelle would be leaving my family. "Thalia..." He called again, noticing my dull mood.I took a breath in and began. "Why did you allow Mirelle to take our son for a ride without my consent?" I asked, wanting to know if he knew about it or not."I'm sorry. Ianth was in a foul mood this morning. Mirelle suggested a ride, that was why I allowed it." He explained. Some of my anger dissipated but something still pricked me that he could be lying. But for what reason? "I went to the jewelry store, wanting to get a surprise gift for you symbolising our wedding anniversary. Did you know what I saw?""Mirelle was in that same jewelry store with our son, holding hands with him. Ianth denied me as his mom in front of everyone!" My chest heav

  • My Husband, My Son, My Betrayal    First betrayal

Thalia's Pov"Eirik...." I wanted to call him to order, make him read my eyes and see how uncomfortable I was with all of these."Don't you agree, Thalia? Mirelle can help you with some things so you won't get too worn out." Eirik interrupted me again.I scoffed in disbelief. All these years of me working alone; cleaning the house, arranging his wardrobe twice a week, cleaning our personal bathroom, taking care of our son and preparing our meals -- he has never mentioned anyone helping me.But our son was involved and he is volunteering to allow Mirelle to help me. Did he think I was dumb? I sighed resistantly while feeling cornered so I nodded."That's great." Ianth clapped excitedly. "So, Aunt Mirelle is staying over at our house." He added.I threw my head towards him. "No!" I refused immediately. Mirelle only came visiting for a few days and I was firmly against it but under the cover of taking care of Ianth, they wanted her to move in? No way."Thalia." Eirik called me, warning l
