"Hey Giselle, Good morning!"
Giselle was startled at Marcus’s sudden and raspy greeting but nodded her head, nonetheless. She turned her head to his direction, a genuine smile flustered in her pretty face, "Hey Marcus, morning to you, too. Do you want some coffee? Or tea?"
Marcus stretched his arms while walking toward Giselle. He was wearing his comfy sports wears.
“Look like he did not have to go to the meeting with the council today.”
Giselle thought for herself while quickly capping her coffee bottle up.
It was almost nine.
She was late.
Marcus made his way to her. His hands hovered up to the brownish wooden cabinet above her head: "I'll have black tea for today."
He randomly picked one of those mugs she kept in there, filled it with hot water, and dipped two black tea bags into it.
“Why are you up so early?”
He asked as he watched her put her coffee into a carry bag.
“I have to go to the din
Marcus sighed. His shoulders dropped.More than two weeks had passed since the rogue and two of his teammates trespassed the Bailey’s pack territory. Although they caused no threats to the Bailey’s pack, their actions must have served a defined goal.Marcus did not believe that they aimed for Giselle just to provoke the fight between the Brownson and the Bailey's. There might be more. Like, they hid their scents for a reason. The rogue they had captured got no scent gland, and it made Marcus think the rogue’s teammates might have removed their scent gland, too. They even got that far. There must have been something more serious than just provoking a fight.“Is there any chance the one behind this is Raiz?” Ben said, “Your uncle is wicked.”“Could have been. If Marcus got dismissed from the head alpha position, Raiz would be benefited.” Tim agreed.“But he seemed to lay low these day
Weekend soon arrived.Their friends gathered at their apartment as agreed. Giselle was a little bit inconvenient with her cast on so they decided to celebrate at Marcus’s apartment instead. They even showed up early to help prepare. At the time, there were Fiona, Sarah, and Giselle in the kitchen. Marcus and his friends were off to the grocery store to buy some more. Anne excused herself since she had caught the flu.Giselle and her friends were talking about her wedding. Her friends seemed a little bit sad since they could not attend their friend’s wedding ceremony. They had promised to be each other bridesmaids. Unintentionally, Giselle broke the promise. It was not like she had a choice. She did not want to do this wedding, either. Not to mention, this wedding had been held in such a hush way. What could you expect from a two-week preparation of a wedding? She could not think of her guesses list in a proper way.Giselle thought about it a
Marcus did not know about the force switching plan Edsel made up.So then, it was obvious he wanted to know why a woman who said she would not get married got married eventually. Not to mention, she married a man who she merely met two times.Lovestruck would not be this fast.“You’re still stuck with the fact that I took Tina’s place right now, right?” Giselle turned sideways, looking straight at Marcus. He gulped, licking his dry lips. After taking a few sips from his lukewarm tea, Marcus nodded, “I can’t say that I’m a hundred percent over it. Maybe one day I will. But right now...”“It felt like a bleeding wound, isn’t it?” Giselle finished his sentence.Marcus nodded, heaved out heavily, “What I had done to you is still a bleeding wound to you, too, right?”“We both have our problem,” Giselle said with a little laugh.Marcus smiled gently. He could n
Marcus was clearly unforeseen this. He was taken aback by her suggestion.“What do you mean?” Marcus asked back.He seemed to stiffen up by Giselle's question. All of sudden, unexplainable fear crept inside of Marcus. He did not expect Giselle to say this. He had agreed to try to work things out with her. He really meant it. He was making an effort to do it.Not gonna lie, Marcus had even thought that he could do it. Eventually, he would not be grieving about Tina like this anymore. His heart would be free someday. And when the day came, he would make amendments to Giselle. He would try to love the omega the way he had loved Tina. However, although Giselle was the one who had suggested that they should try, she did not think it necessary anymore.“I’m sorry for what I had said. I suggested we should try first, but now, I’m the one who runs away from it. Still, Marcus, it would be the best.”Troublesome as it might sou
At the Browns’ mansion.Edsel sat by his working desk. His back was leaning on the backrest of his chair. His hands rested on his lap. Edsel closed his eyes, tiredly sighed.Lately, nothing came as he expected.First, Giselle got her mom out of his hostage. Worse? They re-located at the neutral area. What could he do then? He could go to that area. However, violence or act of holding someone hostage in that area was restricted. If he did not care enough, other packs would find out. That would be the end.Second, due to Giselle having freed her mom from him, she seemed to be a little bit out of hand. She hardly listened to him anymore. She had ignored his calls, ignored his texts. Even when he came to her tiny little dinner at one of those neutral areas, there was still someone from the Bailey’s pack there, preventing him. He could not talk with Giselle there, either.Third, Tina had not gotten in touch with Raiz yet. It had been two wee
A year later.August.Marcus woke up feeling hazy. But not as haziness as a few days ago. He could be sure his rut had died down.He opened his eyes but quickly squinted them as a sharp stingy feeling shot straight to his brain. At the same time, his head was having a bad migraine. Even when he felt a sticky sensation and a disgusting smell of whatever the hell it was, Marcus could not find the strength within himself to pick him up to clean the mess that was his. After a good while, Marcus heaved out. He opened his eyes to the cold greyish ceiling, blinking a few times. His mind was completely blank of thought. His wolf felt tired, too. It looked dull.A year later.Unlike omegas, which had their suppressant, alpha did not. So, Marcus had two choices. One was to be with Giselle; the other was to spend his rut alone. The first choice obviously did not his cup of tea. For Giselle still had her obstacle of him touching her. It to
“Thanks for helping me tonight, Derek.”Giselle gathered her belongings while saying thank you to Derek politely. Her dinner manager stood at her office’s door, leaning on the door frame, his hands shoved in his jeans pocket. He had just come to work, and Giselle was about to went home. She said she had a date. Derek could tell who her date was. Obviously, who else besides her husband? Her husband…Derek still felt bitter at the pronoun. If he was faster than the guy, Giselle’s husband should be him now.A year ago, Derek was still confident to say he could beat her husband to win her over. Why? Because Giselle was sad.A year ago, Derek could see sadness constantly made its appearance clearly in Giselle’s eyes, and also her expression. Giselle never looked down that much. But ever since Giselle had gotten married, the joyful woman Derek once came to know had disappeared. However, things cha
Dinner with Lady Bailey was a little bit awkward. Nonetheless, you could not blame Lady Bailey since the former Luna herself was not fond of these types of gatherings ever since her husband passed away. These gatherings only brought her back sad memory of a time in her life that she could never take back.Yet, she wanted to see Marcus and Giselle. It had been a while since the two moved in together. Dorris knew there was an obstacle between the two. However, the former Luna believed in her instinct that they were best for each other.Their actions and their chemistry toward each other tonight had said louder than words. The dinner had been over. Giselle and Marcus were preparing the fruit for dessert while Dorris Bailey excused herself so the two could be comfortable around each other.Giselle was washing the strawberries when she felt herself engulfed in a warm hug. She got startled, turning her face sideways, surprised to find Marcus was leaning
