CHAPTER2

Aurora pov.

When I returned home that evening, my mind was a mess. I couldn't stop thinking about it, and I also got to meet my wolf, Rora, who is incredibly kind and has pledged to support me through this. I couldn't stop thinking about everything that had happened this evening. I hadn't even realized when my dad had called me. The next thing I knew, I was on the ground and experiencing excruciating pain that quickly turned into tears. That was the first time I had ever sobbed, which startled everyone. I had never experienced pain despite all the beatings and punishment before because I had been emotionally incapable since my child birth. My dad was overjoyed by this and continued to hit everything, acting as though he was wrestling with his colleagues.

I made every effort to cover up my mate’s mark as he was striking me since I didn't want anyone to see it.

"You are leaving this house right now; I can finally make a name for myself, a proper one without the foreshadow of this curse!" He spit out.

That's when his statements started to really pain me. I made the decision not to shade any more tears this time. I made every effort to control myself.

"Father," I croaked.

He grabbed me by the elbow and pulled me in the direction of the door.

"Where are we going?!" I sobbed, sobbing at the agony I was feeling.

Father said angrily, "I'm finally getting rid of this Omen," and he shoved me out the front door. My tears burned my cheeks as I hit the damp ground and turned to face my father, who had just grabbed a cloak and was walking out into the cold. He plucked me off my feet and hauled me into the woods.

"Where are you bringing me, Dad? Please. I let out a cry as we approached the forest, the smooth surface giving way to jagged rocks and gravel that hurt my feet.

It was terribly cold, and my garments did nothing to protect me from the cold, so he didn't even bother to reply as he made his way deeper into the forest.

Dad stopped abruptly and threw me to the floor. It caught me off guard. I was quite irritated as I had no idea why my father was treating me this way. At this point, he didn't even give a damn about me.

"As promised, she's all yours." Dad spoke without trying to meet my eyes at all.

At this time, I looked at the man my father had thrown money to. He was wearing a hoodie and had a fierce appearance. I thought to myself, "Why did my father have to sell me off to this man when he has enough money to support himself and his family?" I knew that I would be sent out of the house according to Stella but not this.

"Father please don't leave me here; I don't want to leave home please." I screamed nonstop.

My dad turned to depart without even giving me a sidelong glance. The hoodie guy kept pulling me further and deeper into the forest while I screamed.

This anger welled up inside of me. The runes shone and my eyes stung, and my wrists burned.

He continued dragging, and for a split second I realized I couldn't go on, but I still wished someone could have saved me.

"No!" Before the hoodie guy slumped to the ground, I heard him murmur something. I was relaxed by then and suddenly I passed out.

The sun came shining through the window at me, as if it were telling me to get off the bed, it was then I realized what had happened to me.

"Where am I?” I got up immediately to ask the woman who was seated next to me on the bed, she looked up to me and smiled then gave me water to drink. She is the only person who has ever smiled at me, aside from my grandmother.

I snatched it from her and gulped it down my neck as if my life depended on it. "Yes, I needed that, my throat is really dried out," I said.

"You've been gone for the past two days," she said, glancing at me.

I had no idea that I had unintentionally spewed water from my mouth over her.

I apologized for what had transpired and said, "What!, two days?" And with that, she gave a nod.

She asked, "You don't remember anything?" I begged her, staring at her, to tell me everything that had happened. She then proceeded to tell me where I was and how the Alpha King's guards had saved me. She proceeded to inform me that where I am now is called the beast clan. I was shocked and asked that she elaborate more. She responded, "It's more like different people who portray different abilities or characters like we have different species of animals so these animal abilities are seen in each person in the beast clan. She went ahead to say that the king is a wolf so therefore an Alpha of the beast clan and also stronger than every other person's here.

She was still beyond my comprehension. She continued to chat for about an hour, during which time I learned that she is a cat by the name, Alice. That's when I started to understand why they dubbed it the “Beast Clan”.

Suddenly, we heard a badgering sound and an instruction to move downstairs to take care of our respective responsibilities. Once downstairs, Alice headed for the garden while I was shown the way to the kitchen. No one seemed to notice or inquire as to whether I was a new resident, it felt as though I had been here for a long time. As usual, I was told what to do, so I didn't think much of it.

It was a bother and extremely exhausting to cook for hundreds of wolves—or, as Alice put it, beasts. But I succeeded.

Simply said, the only food in the fridge or concession stand was vegetables and fish, nothing appetizing. Upon placing the final fish loaf in the oven, I grinned. I let out a sign and paced the pan over the burner. My stomach rumbled with appetite at the pleasant scent of the fish and species.

"Set the table quickly, girl. Come on." In thirty minutes, dinner will begin. With a tense face and a demanding demeanor, Claudia said while entering the kitchen.

I started to think that she could be the head cook at this point, but since I finally left the prison that I call my home, it didn't really bother me, I was happy here.

I agreed, not wanting to ask Claudia for permission to eat even though I was quite hungry. I'm aware that she wouldn't let me regardless.

"Take this to the Alpha's room he doesn't like to eat on the dinner table," I agreed, grabbed the plate from Claudia, and wondered why she had to send me there as I had no idea where I was going. However, the guard pointed me in the right direction. I stopped at his room's door, knocked, and when no one answered, I opened it and allowed myself in. I was shocked to discover a beast in his room and that everything was in disarray. I quickly got a stick and as I was about to hit the beast he held it and turned to face me immediately with anger.

"You're so disrespectful," he angrily exclaimed. "What do you mean, who are you, and why are you in the Alpha's room? Get out of here before he discovers you," I countered.

He was about to speak when Alice knocked on the door. He invited her to come in while hastily covering himself.

"Alpha Alex, your mum will like to be with you shortly," she stated.

I was shocked that I had desired to strike the Alpha with a stick at this moment.

I said, "Wait what? You are the Alpha," and he nodded, acknowledging that he was, with a smirk on his face.
