"I'm listening" Even said.

Now in his house, well, I would have said their house but right now, Even did not want to count Devlin in.

..............Then again, it wasn't like he asked and he lied about not having a child.

He didn' tell him everything!

How could he hide such a big thing from him?!!

After his (Even) encounter with Harley, well, Even or Harley didn' get to even say hi, Devlin sent her away with Fred and Josh and then, came back to the house with Even.

To talk.

The three made their way to the main house.

And I must say, the people in the main house had another surprise coming their way.

In any case, the two were in the house.

In the living room.

Seated on the couches opposite each other.

One (Even) glaring at the other (Devlin) while the other was drowning in guilt.

Goodness! Even looked so angry!

Well, this said a lot!

He (Devlin) should not have hidden anything about Harley from him.

He should have told him everything.

From the beginning.

And..........maybe he (Devlin) should tell him (Even) about that thing as well, right?

"Speak up" Even said gently but that fierce glare was saying something else.

Gosh, he looked so scary and sexy at the same time!

.............What.... What the heck was wrong with him?! This wasn't the time!

"That little girl, is Harley, my daughter" Devlin said, nervous.

Well, he (Even) knew about that.

Only didn' know.........

"Why didn' you tell me?" Even asked the question out loud.

"Well, I was scared. I didn' know what your reaction will be" Devlin answered.

Rolling his eyes, Even replied, "And keeping it to yourself, you now know my reaction"

"I'm sorry" Devlin replied.

Seriously!

This was so annoying!

Even thought, running his hand through his hair,

"I thought you said you dated no one. Fell in love with no one! Why did you lie to me and who's the mother?" He asked, glaring at Devlin.

"Harley" Devlin replied, confusing him (Even).

"Harley?" He (Even) asked, a bewildered look on his face.

"Yes, Harley was named after her mother" Devlin explained.

Okay, so,.......both mother and daughter had the same name.

That was sweet but confusing as as well!

Even thought, an annoyed look on his handsome face, he looked at Devlin,

And...........

"So then you were dating? In love with her?" He asked, angry! Jealous!

What the heck?! So his mate (Devlin) dated someone after all!

Were they still together?!

What happened to them after he (Devlin) found his mate (Even)?!

Even badly wanted to ask all these questions.

However! His jealousy won't let him!

"Harley loved me" Devlin replied, annoying him (Even)

"Which one?!" He (Even) asked.

"The mother. My daughter is Harley Junior Von Delmar" Devlin explained.

Oh, so it was the mother he (Devlin) talking about.

................Okay, he (Even) knew that already but was just so angry, so jealous!

He wanted to yell at his mate (Devlin).

Vent out his anger, frustrations, that's why he (Even) asked that question.

"So, if you let out the junior then you're talking about the mother" Even said, rolling his eyes.

"Yes" Devlin replied, trying his best to remain calm.

At the moment, he was so afraid of Even.

Didn' know his mate could be that scary when angry.

Then again, he didn' know more about his mate (Even)

They just met.

"So, what happened to the woman?" Even asked and watched as a sad look graced his mate's face.

What was that about?

"She died after giving birth to Harley" Devlin said, looking sad.

Oh,.......so.....she was dead?

"That's.... Sad" Even said, feeling guilty.

"Is a long story" Devlin said.

Well, he (Even) had all the time in the world.

Even wanted to know everything that happened between her and his mate (Devlin)

Were they dating?

'He said nothing like that. Only said she loved him' his wolf said and he ignored him.

Did he love her too?

How the heck did he end up up with Harley?!

'Well, we all know how that happened' his wolf said and once again, Even ignored him.

His wolf, was being extra annoying right now.

"Long story short, Harley got drunk at a party and was r**ped. I..........she wanted nothing to do with the father but she wanted to keep the baby. I agreed with her. After giving birth, she died" Devlin said, surprising Even.

"So,......Harley's not your child?" He (Even) asked.

"Yes but she doesn't know this and I intent to keep it this way. She believe am her father and I believe the same. She's my child" Devlin said.

So.......she was the first best gift he was talking about.

Well, Even was surprised.

............But then,...... What was his relationship with Harley's mother?

What was between them?

"Even,.......I know this is a surprise and......"

"It is a surprise. Who knew you'll come with a whole package?!" Even said and Devlin looked down, nervous, guilty.

"But then,.....that's fine" Even said, immediately, Devlin looked up at him, surprised.

"Let's just hope Lvan allows her to stay" Even said, smiling.

"You're okay with Harley?" Devlin asked, surprised and in disbelief.

It was this easy?

There was no reason having scared?!

Maybe he should told him (Even) earlier!

"I am, but.......will she be okay with me?" Even asked.

His mate was right.

Devlin did not think about this.

What would be his daughter's reaction.

Will she be okay with this?

With Even.

He did not think about this at all.

*Knock, knock, knock, someone knocked at the door, gaining their attentions as they looked at the direction of the front door.

Even already knew who it was.

It was..........

"Even! Devlin! Come out! The alpha (Lvan) called for you guys" Josh yelled out from the other side.

Hearing this, they (Even and Devlin) shared a look, wondering what was going on.

Couldn't be it was about Harley, right?

"What's going on?!" Even asked as he and Devlin burst into the office looking worried, Josh following behind them.

Being the last one, he (Josh) closed the door and then stood behind it.

Guarding it.

Making sure the bastard who was their enemy, won't be able to escape.

Well, he couldn't escape even if he wanted to.

Sure he was strong, an alpha and could easily break the chains trapping him.

However, he was not in a good state and his strength or his wolf, could not help him.

Anyways!

They could not talk in the living room with David and Camila still around. And that's why they came to the office and left Carlos with the two (David and Camila)

Sebastian, Corey and Zane were back from the mission.

It was a success and they brought a bastard with them.

It was a bit crowded.

On the couches sat Tristan, Lvan and Chris.

He (Lvan) and his mate (Tristan) were seated on the same couch.

Before them, stood Zane and Corey and the chained bastard in front of them (Corey and Zane)

A few steps away from them (Corey, Zane and the bastard) stood Even and Devlin, looking at Lvan, worried.

Not noticing the unfamiliar scent.

"They'll back" Lvan said, looking at Corey and Zane.

Following his eyes, Even finally noticed Corey and Zane and he breathed out in relief.

It wasn't what he was thinking.

It was about Harley.

That was great.

But then........and his eyes landed on the bastard chained on the floor.

Who was that?

Brown hair, brown eyes.

Built.

A wolf.

Alpha.

His scent was not familiar.

Who was he?

He (Even) asked himself.

"So, the mission was successful, I see. But, where's Sebastian?" Lvan asked. The two (Zane and Corey) came in with that fool on the floor,............Sebastian wasn't present.

What happened?

Was he (Sebastian) back?

"Well, Sebastian can't separate from the kid" Corey said, smiling.

What did he mean by that? Lvan thought.

"He's also finding a place for the children" Zane said.

"What about Cabby? Did you find her?" Tristan asked, worried.

He was with Alan (In Alan's room) when they came back.

Hearing it from Minna, immediately, he made his way here.

And before he could ask any question, Lvan stated they had to wait for Even and Devlin before anything else.

Even so! He should have asked anyways!

He was so worried about Cabby.

"We found her" Zane said, drawing him (Tristan) out of his thoughts.

"But she's not in a good state" Corey said, glaring at the bastard before him.

"Where is she?" Tristan asked, worried.

"With Debby" Zane said and immediately, Tristan rushed out to search for Cabby.

Slamming the door behind him.

"This bastard! What did you do to her (Cabby)?!" Lvan roared, glaring at the bastard who only smiled weakly.

"Who is that?" Even asked.

"Gain Cidna, the pack leader of Cidna Pack" Zane said, surprising Even.

"What?!" He (Even) exclaimed.

He was the pack leader?

This guy?

This weak looking guy?!

"Yes, we brought him along cause we don't know where Andrews is" Zane said.

Understandable.

But how did they put him in this state? He looked so weak.

And...........Hold on......what was he (Even) smelling?

What.........

Surprised, confused, Even turned to look at Devlin who now stood behind him.

Devlin looked surprised.

Anxious.

Scared.

Even could smell all these.

What was going?

What was wrong with his mate?

"I smell something familiar" Gain said, weakly, turning his head, his eyes landed on Devlin who stood behind Even.

Startled, Devlin stood a step back.

He was so scared.

Terrified.

His heart was literally pounding hard in his chest.

And........Gain smiled at him, "If it wasn't Devlin Von Delmar" he (Gain) said, smirking.

Gosh!

He remembered him.

Gain remembered him!

He was done for!

Devlin thought, shaking in fear.

"No" he (Devlin) said, taking a step back.

"Moonlight Wolf Pack or....Moonlight Pack.......Never thought I'll come here" he (Gain) said, panicking, Devlin yelled out, "Shut up!!"

And Gain burst out laughter, "Now I want to talk" he (Gain) said.

What was going on?

Looked like they knew each other.

And....what did he (Gain) want to say?

What was Devlin hiding?

"What's going on?" Lvan asked, confused.

"Your pack looks beautiful now, looks..... A bit.....empty" Gain said, smiling as he stared at Devlin.

"Shut up!" Zane said angrily, smacking him (Gain) on the head.

"Ouch! That hurt!" Gain said, glaring at Zane.

"What do you know?" Even asked, glaring at him (Gain)

"Don't say a word!" Devlin yelled out, glaring at Gain.

Looking at him (Devlin), they found him suspicious.

What was he hiding?

Why was he so scared?

What was it that he (Devlin) didn' want them to know?

"Don't command me Delmar. I am the boss of my own" Gain said, glaring at Devlin.

"One word from......" And before Devlin could complete his words, Gain opened his big mouth.

"Devlin Von Delmar attacked your pack three years ago. Many were killed, few were injured. Not much survived" Gain said, surprising everyone in the room.

"No! That's not so!!" Devlin yelled out looking desperate, panicking.

"I knew you couldn't be trusted!! The first day I see you, I knew this but no one will listen!" Chris said, angrily.

"No! That's not so!" Devlin said, looking at them.

Lvan, Chris, Zane and Corey stared at him, angry.

While Even had his head bowed.

His vision was blurry.

Could not hear anything.

Could not hear his wolf.

He could not breathe.

His heart.........hurt.

His body refused to move.

Mind refused to help.

His mate attacked his pack.

A lot died.

Some were injured.

Few survived.

"You destroyed my pack and came back! Pretending to be innocent! Pretending to be good! You destroyed my pack! My pack!" Lvan screamed out, burning with anger as he stood up.

His claws out.

Wolf fighting him for control.

Wanting to come out and destroy the man who destroyed his pack.

"No!!! Even say something!!" Devlin cried out, desperate.

All......

All he wanted was Even.

His mate!

If only he'll........

"I reject you" Even said, and silence blew.

Everyone, excluding Gain who was enjoying this scene was surprised.

In shock.

In disbelief.

And Devlin, was feeling more than that.

"What?" He (Devlin) asked, surprised, in disbelief.

Heart pounding like crazy.

He....He could not breathe.

"I said I reject you!!!" Even yelled out, turning to face Devlin.

His (Even) eyes said how serious he was.

His face screamed how serious he was.

But the tears......the tears streaming down was saying something else.

Even he was not okay with this.

Even he was feeling the pain as well.

Even he was dying deep inside.

However, it had to be done.

No one, will accept a mate who destroyed his home.

"I reject you! I don't want you anymore! I hate you! Go away! I hate you! I hate you! You lied to me! I was honest all along but you were not! You deceived me! You lied to me! I hate you! I hate you!!!!!" Even cried out, glaring at Devlin.

"You're not my mate. Not anymore" he (Even) said and Devlin stood, frozen in place, eyes widened as he stared at Even.

His heart was beating slowly and Devlin was paler. He was naturally pale, but at the moment, he was paler.

Which..... Wasn't normal.

His beautiful red eyes were dark.

And this, wasn't normal.

He (Devlin) could not move.

Could not speak.

Could not think of anything else except...........

He (Devlin) lost him.

He lost his mate.

Forever.

This was what he feared and it came true.

This was the very reason why he did not tell Even about this from the beginning.

...............Even so, he lost him.

He lost Even.

How will he survive now?

His.....his heart......he (Devlin) was dying.

Getting rejected by your mate shouldn't be taken lightly.

If care was not taken, you'll end up dead from heartbreak.

And Devlin was experiencing it now.

Slowly, in a painful way,.....he was dying.
