Prologue

I was a useless, pathetic omega.

And for the first time, I realized that being alive isn't worth it.

But I was wrong.

I was cleaning the dirty floors of the packhouse.

That day was my birthday. I just turned 17, it was then that I found out that the future alpha was my mate, who he came back from school.

He was my soulmate.

The one who was supposed to be my prince charming like my childhood imagination. I always knew he'll love me no matter what. Even if I'm broken.

But instead of a happy ending. He rejected me.

"I, Allen Green, reject you, Reyna, as my mate." He announced, as my eyesight blurred up with tears.

Everyone was looking at us. I just stood there in front of him.

"I, Reyna Andrews, accept your rejection," I whisper, looking down the floor, trying not to sob out loud.

I decided to kill myself that day. I ran, never looking back. Running outside and into the forest.

There was a cliff near the edge of this forest. I knew I was going to die alone anyway. And I wanted to end it now.

My heart breaking into small pieces. My body starting to become numb and pale.

That's when I hear a baby cry across through the dark forest, where I ran in.

I stop and look around. My wolf, Matilda, crying and whimpering had stopped for some reason.

She told me to find this baby. I didn't ask why but look for the baby.

That's when I saw him.

The baby was wrapped in cloth, and crying with small tears on his cheeks.

"A baby?" I whisper to myself, looking at him.

He looks at me and stops crying all of a sudden. A small smile appears on his chubby cheeks.

I felt a bond forming between us, and I knew I had raised him as my own

He looks so adorable and innocent. And I can't just leave him alone here.

I pick him up gently and carefully not to drop him.

But where are your parents? I ask myself, looking around the area.

That's when I decided.

"I'll name you Varien," I whisper, as Varien giggles and smiles.

That was the beginning of my new life.
