Yes daddy!” She screamed at the top of her lungs. *** Wren had no idea what the holiday has in store for her when she decided to join her mother for it. She didn't expect to find herself alone on some remote island with Alpha Ronan, her stepfather. Without her ill mother!Ronan has always been a gentleman and she should have no reason to panic because they are alone but what if she is the dirty one who has been having weird fantasies about her own stepfather? No wonder she was dubbed ‘the weirdo’ in the pack. It all makes sense to her. What happens when they find out they are mates? And he woefully rejected her but offered for her to be his mistress during the entire holiday because he couldn't stay away either. She agreed to become his Holimate.

Walking towards the Alpha’s part of the pack house still feels surreal, but I know I will find my mother there and not at the other part of the pack house where we used to live with my father. He died four years ago before I went to college, and now my mom is married to the Alpha. This is my first time coming back in four years. I don’t know why Dad wanted her to marry the Alpha, honestly, because she would prefer to live the rest of her life with his memories, I’m sure of that. I smiled, excited to meet her after four long years. We can spend Christmas together again though it will be different without father. As I made my way towards the side, though, I bumped into someone who had already seen me coming because the way I was pushed to the floor with force was very intentional. I groaned at the pain in my butt, then raised my eyes. Piper. Piper loathed me and to think she used to be my best friend before she allowed boy drama to get in the way. She knows all of my secrets, just like I knew hers before our final year in high school. Everything changed then. See, Piper is the daughter of the Alpha of Dark Night Pack and now my stepsister, it seems. She stared down at me with so much disdain I coiled into myself. I looked away from her piercing eyes and tried standing up, but she wasn’t having it. She pushed me down with the heel of her wedge shoes with a sneer. She let her eyes snap with her wolf to show me just how superior she was. To remind me that she has a werewolf form and I don’t. I told her this secret on my eighteenth birthday that I might never get a wolf and she promised to help me hide it. But the second we stopped being friends, everyone knew about it, including my parents. It’s safe to say they couldn’t wait for me to leave. Now I’m back with small hope that we are all grown, but I should have known. Piper doesn’t forgive anyone. She has become so bitter that I don’t even recognize her most of the time. “Where do you think you are going, Wrench?” she asked, her feet still pressing hard on my legs, making me wince more. It hurts so much! “I’m going to see my mother” I gritted out, trying to wiggle out from her shoe, but to no avail. She’s fucking strong too. “Ah, she wants to run to her mommy. What a weak wrench you still are” she mimicked a baby’s voice, anger shimmering in her eyes. “Please, Piper…” I begged through gritted teeth because it is getting unbearable. She smiled, showing her perfect white teeth, then slowly removed her foot from my leg only to kick me in the ribs. I howled, doubling over in pain, tears gathering in my eyes. I bit down a sob rushing from my throat. “That is for you strutting in here like you fucking own the place or deserve to be here. Don’t forget you are an omega, and you have service to do for the pack. Go and remove those fucking clothes and get to work” she sneered, her face contorting. “Pipes! Christmas shopping is waiting” a voice called from the door, and two girls showed up a few seconds later to take in the scene. Olivia and Tori. They used to follow us around back then. We weren’t friends, but they set us up. Piper couldn’t see through the whole drama that was made to separate us but I know what they did and they knew I knew it. I never bothered explaining to her, though, because it was not worth it. She had already decided what she wanted to do with our friendship and how she threw me under the bus about being an omega for not having a wolf. “Ouuu, she’s back already?” one said, staring at me with disdain. “No wonder I felt the air stuffing today. Why did she come back?” the other stomped her feet, staring at Piper as if she had all the answers. “She wants to suffer more, and I’m here to make her life more miserable, of course” Piper grinned maliciously while checking her nails. “But we are going to be late. We can deal with her later” Olivia said not bothering to look at me again. I wasn’t worth it. Piper turned back to me, staring at me with a wicked smile. “If you like to go and tell your mommy what I just did, we both know she won’t even believe you” “The woman that loves you more than her own daughter?” Tori laughed at the fact and we all know it. My mother would never believe that Piper would do anything bad even if she was doing it right in front of her eyes. She is a good girl and I am a liar so I stopped telling her anything. “Now girls don’t be so crude” Piper pouted. “Anyways, since you are back, you will be making dinner today for the entire pack. Don’t forget, not everyone eats the same meal.” They turned around to leave when the girls whispered something to her and I saw the way her head angled in that predatory way when she wanted to bully people from school and I had to stop her. “Oh, check the dungeon too. You haven’t been there for a while and I’m sure they have MISSED you. Clean it!” With that they strutted down the hall. My heart squeezed in my chest at the thought of the dungeon because I was almost raped one time because a guard ‘mistakenly’ left a cell door open. It wasn’t a mistake! I stood up from the floor and dragged my suitcase with me while wincing. I went to check on my mother in the master bedroom but she wasn’t there. She was in a guest room and it looks like that is where she stays. What sort of marriage is this between her and the alpha? I greeted her and she answered lazily though she looked a bit sick. I’m sure it’s because of my father's death. When your mate dies, you start to hate your own life. She didn’t show any sign that she had missed me, only accepted my greeting like it was the usual day. It stung so bad but I swallowed and told her I was going to make dinner for everyone. “Good. Alpha Ronan has been complaining about Cook lately. Since you are back you can take over.” She said lazily reclining on the bed. I swallowed against the thick and raw hurt in my throat and set out to the room she told me to use. It was the smallest one that used to have the former Luna's stuff before she ran away. She wasn’t Alpha Ronan’s mate and when she found her mate, she left him. I started making the dinner first and set everything in the large dining room fit for a hundred people. Yes, I did everything alone cause the maids won’t help me. “You are the same as us and our only difference is you are the Alpha’s stepdaughter now. But still an omega” one of them had scoffed, then they disappeared from the kitchen. I hurried to the dungeon before the sky turned dark and just in case I asked the guards to make sure every cell was locked. Once confirmed I entered the foul smelling place and started cleaning. I haven’t lost my touch because even when I went to college I used to work as a janitor to pay my bills. There is nothing new. I finished as soon as I could then run away from the cat calls. The men inside were so nasty telling me what they’d do to me if I just accepted them. That they’d show me a good time to forget my sorrows. Disgusting pigs. While walking back to the pack house I pass by the pack gym. It was empty except for one person training vigorously half naked. My eyes widened when I realized who it was. Alpha Ronan. I stared at him with unabashed eyes as I always do. It doesn’t matter that he is married to my mom now. He is the most handsome man I have ever seen in my life. Late thirties, dark hair and hard muscles everywhere. He finished training and turned around. My eyes zeroed on the shape of his manhood straining against his tight sweatpants. I swallowed. The way this man has featured in my every wet dream…RONANThe silk was a cool, firm pressure against my wrists. I tested the bonds, not to escape but to feel their strength. Wren knew her knots. They held fast, securing my arms to the ornate headboard of our bed. The stress of the last week (a border dispute with the Silver Creek pack, a failed harvest along with endless weight of leadership) had settled deep in my shoulders, a knot I couldn't untangle. Then Wren had proposed this. Her request. Her game.I lay on my back, naked watching her. She stood at the foot of the bed, a vision in soft black lace and sheer stockings that ended in delicate garters. But it was the ears perched in her hair and the fluffy tail swaying gently behind her that completed the look. My kitten. She wanted to play but tonight, she held the power. I was here for it. I needed to let go, to let her take control. She crawled onto the bed, her movements fluid, predatory. The mattress dipped with her weight. She didn't touch me yet. She just looked, her eyes dar
RONAN’S POVThree Years Later…I stood on that same stretch of sand and let myself remember everything I’d almost thrown away. The cabin behind us looked smaller now, exactly the way Wren had said though I understood the feeling differently than she probably meant it. I remembered standing at that window years ago, watching her sleep, terrified of a future I couldn’t picture without her in it and still too much of a coward to say so out loud. Remembered calling her temporary in front of Mason, watching the words land like a blade across her face telling myself afterward that it had been necessary. It had been none of those things. It had been fear wearing the shape of wisdom that had cost me seven months of searching. Cost Wren an entire pregnancy and birth she’d faced completely alone. Cost us both time we’d never fully get back no matter how much healing came after.I watched her now, walking ahead of me along the same coastal path witj Violet’s small hand wrapped in hers. They we
WREN’S POV Three Years Later…Camille waddled into the nursery looking like she might genuinely combust from happiness.“She kicked again,” she announced, both hands pressed against her enormous belly glowing in that particular way pregnant women did when everything about their life had finally clicked into place. “William felt it too, he nearly cried, it was actually embarrassing how emotional he got over one tiny kick.”“You cried harder than he did,” I reminded her, not looking up from where I sat braiding Violet’s dark hair.“That’s completely irrelevant.” She settled carefully into the chair across from us, radiant despite the exhaustion that came with carrying twins this far along. “Auntie Camille needs to see her favorite niece before Auntie Camille collapses from sheer pregnancy fatigue.”“Auntie Camille,” Violet corrected primly, at three years old already possessing her mother’s exact insistence on precision, “you’re not tired. You’re just being dramatic.”Camille gasped, c
WREN’S POVWe settled on splitting our time which sounded complicated in theory and turned out to be surprisingly simple in practice.Six months at Darknight, six months at Black Diamond. Victor and Ronan working out the logistics between them with less trouble than I expected from two alphas who started this entire journey as cautious near strangers.“You’re building an entire treaty around a custody schedule for a toddler” Camille had observed one evening, watching them hash out border patrol coordination like it was the most natural thing in the world.“She’s not a toddler yet” I said. “She’s barely six months old.”“She’ll get there. And apparently by the time she does, she’ll have two entire packs fighting over who gets her for the holidays.”That had turned out to be more accurate than either of us expected.Darknight had surprised me most. I braced myself for lingering resistance, for the same cold judgment I’d grown up absorbing my entire childhood, whispered comments about th
WREN. The sun was high when I decided to leave the cabin. The air was warm and sticky and for once I wanted nothing more than to feel the sea against my skin. I told Ronan I was going for a swim nothing more than that. He didn’t argue and he just gave me one of those long looks that always makes m
WREN’S POV Sleep refused to come. I had spent hours staring at the ceiling, tangled in sheets that still smelled like Ronan my body thrumming with the memory of his hands, his mouth, the way he had taken me in that elevator like he owned me. Like he had every right to claim me. But my thoughts
RONAN’S POV I stormed out of the ballroom with my pulse pounding in my ears and my breath coming in ragged and uneven bursts. The tension in my body coiled so tightly it felt like I was seconds away from detonating. Every muscle was strung tight, my jaw aching from how hard I was clenching my t
WREN’S POV The sun was already blazing when I stood in front of my mirror contemplating what to wear. Beach party or not, I wasn’t about to show up looking anything less than stunning AND not when I knew Ronan would be there, watching even if he pretended not to care. I picked out a bikini
