Chapter 4

Malcolm Horace Mansion. Malcolm sat down with his daughter Yvonne in their living room that looked like some classy hotel. Yvonne is a young beautiful lady, she had clear eyes, flawless skin and a pretty good shape. She looked at her father who had just called her in to talk with her. She lifts her glass of wine and took a sip, it was obvious that she was a classy lady, just by her appearance. She put down the glass cup and leans on one hand to get a better look at her father. "Did you have something to say to me?" "Yes." Malcolm put down his glass, the expression on her father's face made her curious. "What is it?" She asked, giving him full attention and waiting for him to continue. Malcolm cleared his throat and hesitated before speaking. "I am setting a date for you, I would like you to meet someone." Yvonne furrowed her brow and sat up. "Someone?" She raised her brow as he nods. "Dad why would you do that?" Setting up a date with a stranger she has no idea of was absurd. "It is to help you," Malcolm said softly as he held her hands, he had always wanted Yvonne to meet someone, just like he had met her mother.

Yvonne runs her hand through her hair. "You do this thing and say it is to help me?" She couldn't believe her father will do it, even when he knows how much she hates it. "You will understand." Malcolm looked into her eyes, with that fatherly feeling that made Yvonne calm, her father is an awesome man, no doubt she loves him, but still... "Dad, if I happen not to like him, please respect my decision okay?" She gave him her condition, she doesn't like being forced into a relationship. "Okay." Malcolm accepted, Yvonne smile and leans on her fathers should, she was happy he would accept her condition. "That's the man you will be singing with for our sixth album," Malcolm added and Yvonne suddenly sat up.

"Is that Russeli Ryan?" She searched her father's eyes with a glint in hers. "Yes." Malcolm nod. "You know him?" He asked his daughter, her sudden outburst meant something. Yvonne blushed. "I have seen his pictures and he is very popular too, you know.." She pressed down her lips in joy. Malcolm understands the smile on his daughter's face. "So have you decided?" Yvonne stopped smiling immediately. "My decision is the same, if I don't like him then you should accept," Yvonne said as she got up from the chair to leave. "Okay, look forward to it next week." "Okay. Yvonne went into her room and made a few happy dances with her shoulder as she lay on her bed, she had a crush on Russeli for a long time now and had wish to have even one date with him, and it seems her wish had been granted. She kicked the air a few times and buried her face on her pillow, giggling, she couldn't wait for the supposing day to arrive.

... Malcolm Horace called Gilbert Ryan who was in his living room at his mansion. He was a wealthy man and his mansion shows off his wealth, it was big and well decorated, floor to tile ceiling, wall painting and a beautiful galaxy room that was astonishing. He answered the phone just as Malinda came out to serve him his coffee. Malcolm told him that his daughter has accepted to go on the date, Gilbert seems happy when he ended the call. "You." He called out and Malinda faced him. "Yes sir." Malinda lowered her gaze as she answered. "Go call me my son." He ordered her and Malinda paused for a while. "Okay, sir." She turned and left the living room.

Malinda POV I walked out of the living room, my headship at every step I take as I head over to my bosses son's room. I have been avoiding him after that day I spilt water on his notebook, but now I don't think I can avoid him any longer, right now I was walking into a lion's den. I arrived at his room door and took in a lot of breath to muster up the courage to walk in there. "Just knock Malinda, tell him his father wants to see him, then leave immediately. Easy as Abc." I practice what I will do. I lift my hands gently and knocked on the door. "Yes, come in." The voice that belongs to my boss son came from inside. I exhaled sharply and push the door open, there he was, laying on his couch with his phone in his hands, he looked up at me with his blue eyes and I was speechless. He was wearing an ash top and worn-out jean, but he still looks awesome in it and sexy too. "Are you going to continue staring at me like a dummy?" His voice pulled me from my thoughts and I look down at my feet immediately all the practice I did just outside the door was forgotten. "Why are you here?" I swallowed hard to find my voice again. "Your dad..." I wanted to speak but he interrupted me. "Have you completed the note?" He asked me and I closes my eyes gently and I could feel my body tremble, this was what I have been avoiding for a few days now. I know I shouldn't always be intimidated by him, what was wrong with me? I use to be a brave girl at the orphanage, why was I acting so coy. "No, I am still writing it." I looked up and met his gaze and in a brief moment I look down again, his brow was furrowed and his face had turned cold, I was sure that he was angry at my stupid word. "You don't just get it, do you?" I heard his angry voice and my head told me to run away from this room right now, but my heart said I shouldn't offend him anymore and stay still. "That is a new song am working on and you had just ruined it!" He got up from the chair and I stepped backwards, frightened of what he will do to me, he might hit me, where will I duck first, I bite down my lips. "I know just what I have to do." His voice rang in my ear again. "I have to tell my dad to fire you because you are unlucky." I lift my head to see him walking towards the door, I gripped his hands to stop him from living the room. "Yes, I am unlucky, I know that." Tears pooled in my eyes, ever since I lost my parents I have always thought of myself as an unlucky child. He pushed me off him and I lost my balance and hit the floor with my ass, it hurt so much, but I know he never likes the idea of me a maid touching him. "How dare you lay your filthy hands on me, you orphan!" He shouted and his words hit home. My heart shattered into different pieces and I closed my eyes, I presume down my lips to suppress my tears but it still manages to fight its way out. "Yes, I am an orphan," I said it out with a choked voice. "I am unlucky." I looked up at him, and he was staring down at me with his blue eyes filled with a sudden emotion that I couldn't explain. "But..please..please don't let me get fired, I have no other way to feed myself, please." I went on my knees as I beg. If I get fired, I don't know where to go from here, I wouldn't want to return to the orphanage home without a thing when I had promised to come back with a gift or present for them all. "Get up." I heard him say and I looked up, my vision blurred with tears, if there is anything that looked pitiful right now, I am the one. "I said get up." He told me again and this time to my surprise he stretched his hands down and pulled me up. He looks at my face that was filled with tears, I must admit I look ugly when I cry and I was sure I do right now. "Why would you cry for just that?" He asked me softly and his voice was calmer now. "How could you accept that you are unlucky." He stepped away from me. "Don't ever do that in my face anymore." He said and walked out of the room. I know that this time around, he was not on his way to tell on me, I gently wipe off my tears, repeating how pathetic I was in my head.
