"Xander! It's nice to see you again!" I said sincerely.
He kissed me on the cheek and handed me a bouquet of tulips.
"Oh thank you! Another one huh?" I smiled.
"I thought I'm not going to make it. I was in a meeting and rushed here after." He said while smiling back at me.
For some reason, I missed his smile.
"Sister, why are you blushing?" My little brother suddenly asked.
I cupped my cheeks in embarrassment and glared at him. My family laughed and teased me.
"Xander, why don't you join us for dinner tonight? For old times sake." Dad asked.
I looked at him and at first he was hesit
I wasn't able to respond for a moment. I thought I saw a ghost. He's a lot different now. He's more mature and manly. He's hair was longer, tied up in a ponytail with some loose strands when he removed his helmet. "Emily, it's me Kyle." He said while knocking on the window again. I tensed but opened the window for him. He was looking at me, staring into my eyes. "What happened? Why are you here?" He asked. "M-My car won't start. I-I'm on my way to Wisteria, to my parents." I tried not to stammer but I feel like my lips were trembling. He parked his motorcycle in front of the car and walked towards me. I was just watching his every movement. "Can you move to the other side? I
Kyle said his goodbyes to my parents after he and my father finished chatting. "I'm sorry for disturbing your night. I should probably go. It was nice seeing you again sir." He said. I walked him outside to see him off. But we decided to talk a little so we went to the garden. He really has changed a lot. His appearance was so much different from the nerdy Kyle I knew. "You changed." I blurted. "I guess so. It was necessary." He said. Then it went silent. "So? How are you? It's been almost a year." He asked. "I'm fine. Luke helped me with my company so it's doing really well." I said.
The meeting will start at noon. I haven't told Alora that I will also accept the hospital project. I talked to Kyle about it and he insisted because he really thinks I'm the best person for the job. I'm still not sure about my feelings but I'm really happy seeing him. I arrived at A.E Tower an hour earlier so I decided to go to Luke's office. "Hi, my name's Emily Blair Nitori. Is Luke in his office?" I asked. Before the receptionist answered, a familiar voice called me. "Emily?" When I turned around, it was Kyle. He was wearing a doctor's coat this time. He was smiling while he walked towards me. My heart skipped a beat and I was just staring at his face. I can't deny that h
I took a deep breath before I answered. "He asked me if we could start over as friends, I agreed." He stared at me and didn't say a word for a moment. "Emily, what do you exactly feel about him?" He asked. I was surprised. I didn't expect him to ask me about my feelings towards Xander. "I-I, He's a friend." I stammered. He heaved a sigh. "You're also not sure about it. I hope you can figure it out Emily." He said. We finished our meal but Kyle was quiet. Did he think I'm in love with Xander? Is he mad? I stammered because I was surprised. I don't feel anything about him.
His arms were wrapped around my waist. His face was just a few inches away from mine. I can smell the scent of sugar and honey from his breath. My heart was beating so fast and I could feel the heat from my body growing. I don't know if it was because of the wine or because of him that I felt my knees weaken. "Emily, are you drunk?" He asked, frowning. "N-No. I'm okay." I said simply. I stared at his face as if memorizing every detail. When I looked at his lips, I bit my lips. "I told you don't do that." He said in a hoarse voice. Is it just me or is he also getting flustered? I didn't say a word and just bit my lips again. Then he pushed me in the corner where no one could see us. His body was now pressing mine, my back
We still have a few days to start the project so today there will be a welcome party for Kyle in Queen's. The party is a formal dinner so I went to Azalea to look for a dress to wear. I found a simple dress that fits the occasion but still needs some altering, so I decided to go to a nearby cafe to wait. I was sitting in the corner not visible to anyone when two familiar figures came in. I was shocked when I saw who it was. It's Kyle and Peggy. Peggy was clinging to Kyle's arm and they looked so happy. They were chatting and laughing with each other. Kyle sometimes leaned towards Peggy and whispered in her ear, Peggy will giggle at it. What the hell is happening? Is she cheating on Jayden now? Is Kyle trying to take my friend from my friend? How could he do this?
Everyone was looking at me. They were confused why the King is escorting me tonight. I don't really know myself. For some reason, I feel like he was my grandfather. We were walking towards Kyle and Lily. They were talking with Peggy and Jayden. My chest was pounding, I'm so nervous. "Hello my princess." Greeted the king to Peggy. They turned around and Kyle seemed surprised. He was staring at me and the king. "Grandpa!" Peggy hugged his grandfather. "Have you met my lovely date this evening?" The king jokes. "She's my friend. Of course she's lovely. Look at her, she's so stunning. I bet the boys can't take their eyes off her " Peggy said while glancing at Kyle.
"Will she be okay?" I asked. "She's a strong woman. She deserves someone better." Kyle said. We continued to walk in the garden holding each other's hands. My feet were exhausted so I walked barefooted. "When do you plan to talk to Xander?" Kyle asked. "How about after the party? I really want to give the ring back to him." I said. Kyle suddenly pulled me inside the greenhouse and grabbed me on my waist. "I love you." He said, brushing his lips into my ear. I felt goosebumps all over my body and my chest was beating like a drum. "Kyle, you said you've been in love with me even befor
