I watched in my mind as Aaron’s wolf — Rust — circled Dora, sensing that Cal was only a few steps away, watching as well. It was always a funky sensation to be hovering in my consciousness as one of the furriest parts of me played. My golden wolf kept her stance, ever so calm. Once he gave her some opening, she pounced on him, clawing at his side. As she leapt to the other side of the ring, he bit at her tail. Son of a poodle! Not on her bushy tail! We should call foul play.

Dora held back, not allowing Cal and I to feel her pain as well. But seeing it was brutal enough. I paced around the grey mental space around me, like someone walks in a dream.

“Bite at his tail too!” Cal coaxed with a furious growl. His wolf dragged Dora by the tail before biting part of it off. She held back her whimper of agony. Turning around instead to bite his shoulder.

Rage flooded my system, and all I wanted was to make him pay, give him the same vicious taste he inflicted on my poor wolf. D
