Selene

The next morning, I woke up alone, but with the smell of Izan in the sheets.

He should have fallen asleep next to me, but he had to leave early, and I don't know if I was disappointed or saddened. I felt a mixture of both emotions.

A part of my brain was fighting against reality.

It had all happened too fast.

The Goddess had granted me another mate with such haste that I felt confused.

I was just getting to know Izan and learning the abysmal differences between him and Axel. However, the pain of rejection lingered under my skin, and the memories of five years of marriage were not going away easily.

You have to let all your pain out and focus on yourself; take advantage of Izan's support and friendship. Maybe the Goddess was kind to us because we needed someone who could understand us, Kate said so firmly that I sighed.

Maybe you're right.

It's not a maybe; it's a fact. Living on the pain that the memory of Axel generates in you is the worst thing you can do, and, although I und

IzanSeeing Selene upset after dreaming about Axel's wolf was not something that pleased me.The idea in itself seemed completely crazy to me; however, I had to calm Selene down so that she would go back to sleep. I didn't feel like analyzing the situation at the time, although I couldn't deny that something inside me was not only sad but a little disappointed.Selene had made it clear to me that, although Axel was someone very important in her life, she no longer saw him in the same way, nor loved him in the same way, nor would she go back to him. But those kinds of dreams made me see that remnants of the bond must remain between them. That made me nervous, but I tried not to make it obvious in front of her, especially since her wolf was feeling it too. So when I woke up, I stared at my mate very carefully. You shouldn't give so much energy to a second interpretation of what happened, Sirhan said vehemently. Why?Because the situation is much more complex than your jealousy and insec

Selene“Are you okay?” asked Izan as I sat a bit away from the center of the square. We had gone to a meeting in the square to finalize everything about the Blue Moon celebration. An astronomical holiday that the North could enjoy every three years, due to the occurrence of a rare natural phenomenon: the appearance of the blue moon. The phenomenon was not related to color; it was actually based on the appearance of a second full moon during the month. It was something extremely rare and could only be appreciated very well in the North. However, the most amazing thing was the fact that this moon was always a supermoon; that is, the moon would be closer to the planet, and the lunar energy that night would be incredible. The packs used it as a wild mating night. It was very effective for finding mates, as well as for having permission to roam packs without problems and for getting pregnant; the latter because the she-wolves would go into extreme heat that left them very fertile. However,

AxelI woke up with the urge to see Clare. There was nothing more imperative than seeing my baby's mother, so when she appeared, I couldn't help but smile. I had dreamed of her, of the fact that she needed me more than ever, so I had to come out of unconsciousness and fight for her.My wolf Mal growled in annoyance, as if he disagreed with me.“You're awake!” said Clare so excitedly that I laughed. She ran and jumped on the bed to hug me. I just held her and gave her lots of kisses on her face until I finally touched her belly. The baby, as if sensing me, kicked, and we both laughed.I was in a loop of happiness that I couldn't explain.I felt completely blissful to have her so close and that she was the mother of my heir. I had to get everything in order right away. Clare was to be my wife and my Moon as soon as possible.“Are you feeling all right?” asked Clare with obvious concern.“I'm fine,” I said calmly. “I feel better than ever.”Clare sighed in relief and hugged me tightly.A

ClareI was very uneasy.Eugene and Nick took all the power of the pack into their own hands, with the help of the council; they both established a way to calm the population and stopped the search for Selene. That fact irritated me.“Why did they stop looking for that damn murderess?” I questioned angrily that morning while having breakfast with them. “When Axel wakes up, he's going to be pissed because you guys didn't prosecute that damn woman like you were supposed to.”Eugene and Nick looked each other in the eye before looking at me seriously.“We're at a critical point, Clare; it's been weeks,” Nick said and shook his head. “We can't keep wasting resources on a wild-goose chase.”“At the very least you guys should send out respective general notifications to the various areas of our world,” I said quickly to hatch my plan. “Selene may have gone into hiding in some distant pack and is surely covering up her name so no one can identify her. You people need to keep tracking her dow

IzanI looked at the clock with a frown.Selene had gone to the bathroom, but it had been much longer than she usually took when we were out and about. I knew that pregnancy made her bladder bother her more than usual, but I hadn't expected her to take much longer than usual.Something's up, said my wolf, Gregory. How do you know that?I can feel it; Kate is very restless. Gregory said gruffly.I approached the bathroom and saw the group of vipers that had caused me trouble earlier coming out. They were laughing at something, and I had a very bad feeling. When they saw me, they all smiled with amusement.“Hello, Alpha,” said Lena, the daughter of one of the Alphas from the southern periphery of the East Zone. “You're looking sexier than ever today.”“That's true,” said the others.“Excuse me,” I said quickly and went into the bathroom.I looked for Selene but didn't see her outside.“Are you here, Selene?” I asked and got only silence. That ladies' room was the only one in the small m

  • My mate's betrayal   Chapter 40

SeleneIzan and I became inseparable.Since we returned from the ruins, the complicity between us increased. We had not kissed again in the same way we kissed that day; however, verifying how complementary our souls were made us not want to be away from each other. It's the pull of the bond urging you to claim each other, Kate said with amusement. It's not the right time.I think it is the most appropriate time. They both love each other madly, but they don't want to admit it because they are a pair of fools, Kate said seriously.I ignored my she-wolf and waited for Izan as I had every morning since we had gone to the ruins.I had acquired a little routine in just five days.I would go down to the kitchen early, he would come down later, and we would have breakfast outside and talk about the day's chores, and he would take me with him to the morning checks he did on some businesses to verify that people were okay. After that he would take me to the sanctuary, stay for an hour helping
